Epilogue

“State your reasons”

“He knew why I did it. I don’t have any excuse” he answered firmly, head bow down. He shut his eyes tight, preparing himself for any punishment he’ll receive. He thought maybe he’ll be placed along with the warriors; those who battle various demons at that place where there is unending war, maybe he won’t be guarding a specific human for a while or maybe forever.

“You have confessed…”

He opened his eyes, he have accepted his fate and will do anything it takes to pay for the rules he have broken.

“…and you have been forgiven”

He looked up in bliss. Of course, his master is forgiving.

“You’ll be assigned to guard again”

“I will?” he asked in surprise, overwhelmed. He never thought he will be able to stay as a guardian.

“You have broken a rule but you did everything you can to save a human. You confessed and asked forgiveness”
