Curse pt. 2 - Chaekkura

“And remember Sakura-ssi, I’m watching you.” she said and continues to walk away, I ran up to her and held her arm,

“Wait, how did you know my name?” I asked her,

She stared at me with no expressions on her face, “Cause I’m the person who saves you almost everyday.”

“W-what do you mean by that?, did you save me from anything?”

“Yes.” She said as she walks away, I ran up to her and held her arm again, “Can you atleast tell me your name first?”

“Why would I do that?”

“Because I need to know, what do you expect me to call you? ‘Mysterious girl’, ‘Knife girl’, ‘Hoodie girl—“

“Fine. I’m Lee Chaeyeon, Just call me Chaeyeon.”

“Ok hi Chaeyeon! It’s nice to meet you.” I said

“Damn, what a pain in the .” she said with a low tone, but it’s loud enough for me to hear it, “Hmm?” I hummed, but shs didn’t reply and just walked away,

It has been 2 months now and Chaeyeon would still threaten me to not do anything every night, I’m so sick of it! My friends even think that I’m a kill joy because of her, I was out of my mind and so I decided to go for a walk to the park, as I arrived the park, two guys grabbed my arms, “W-who a-are y—“

“Shut up you little b*tch!”The guy on he right said as she slaps me in the face and led me to an abandoned building, they started beating me up until I fell to the ground, I can’t do anything but close my eyes and cried, “We’re not done yet, Missy” One of the guys said, after a few moments, I felt a familiar presence, I slowly opened my eyes and saw Chaeyeon, out of breath, and the two guys are out of sight,

“C-Chaeyeon....?”

She turned around and looked at me, I saw her shed a tear, she quickly ran up to me and hugged me, tightly, I can hear her sobbing, “I-I’m s-sorry.....” she said, “For what? You saved me” I said, “N-no.... I didn’t...... I didn’t get to warn you earlier....... that would’ve not happened if I was not a slow poke”

I hugged her back, “Well for me, you did, you saved me Chaeyeon-ah....”

It has been 7 months since that incident happened and me and Chaeyeon became close friends, really close actually, until she confessed to me,

“I like you, Sakura.”

Well, I didn’t think that words would come out to Chaeyeon’s mouth actually, but I accepted her and surprise surprise! We are now a couple, I love Chaeyeon more than anything, because she’s so sweet, caring, talented, and is surprisingly really good at dancing, our relationship is very stable, until one day, I was having a date with Chaeyeon and I suddenly coughed up blood and fell unconscious...

I woke up in the hospital bed, I’m struggling to breath, I weakly looked at Chaeyeon who is crying loudly as she caresses my hand,

“C-C-Chaeyeon-ah......” I did my best to speak

“I-I’m sorry Sakura..... this is all my fault......”

“F-f-for w-what?”

“This would’ve not happened if we were not together....”

“W-what d-d-do y-y-you m-mean?”

“I haven’t told you this...... but I’m cursed Sakura...... I’m cursed......”

I stayed silent because I’m struggling to speak

“Y-you were actually supposed to die Sakura.”

“H-huh?”

“Remember when I said to not go to your friends house?”

I nodded, “If you would go there, That house burnt down but your friends survived..... except for you...”

“Remember when I said to go to another path?”

I nodded, “If I didn’t said that to you, you would’ve got shot....”

“And do you remember when I said to not drink at that bar?”

I nodded again, “You were supposed to get and killed there....”

“H-h-how d-did y-you know a-all of t-the t-things t-that m-might h-happen t-to m-m-me?”

“I have a power, Sakura, I can see the future..... but my power has a consequence.... a curse.... a curse that when I have a relationship with someone..... that person will die....”

“........and that’s why you’re in the hospital right now..... it’s because of me......”

I stayed silent, still in shock on what Chaeyeon said,

“.......and you know that I love you so much.... I don’t want to see you weak like this..... and to stop it......

........we must break up....”

“N-no C-Chaeyeon-ah” I said as I shook my head, “P-please d-don’t....”,

“I’m sorry, but we need to do this...... I don’t want you dead.....so..... go find someone better..”

“N-no C-Chaeyeon-ah.... p-please....I-I c-can’t f-f-find s-s-s-someone b-better, b-because y-you’re t-the b-best”

“I’m sorry..... we can’t do anything about this.... there is no break from this curse..... you can only live if we break up....”

“N-no p-please, I-I-I’m b-begging you..”

“We can stay as friends Sakura.... but we can’t be lovers..... I’m sorry....”

“P-please C-Chaeyeon..... d-don’t...”

“Sakura please.... if we keep our relationship... you’re gonna die.... I don’t want that.... We can’t get to see each other anymore..... so please.....cooperate with me....”

“O-okay....f-fine..” I suddenly gave up

“Just do me a favor.... promise me that you will be happy with someone else.”

“I-I don’t—“

“Please, I’m happy when you’re happy....”

“I-I’ll try..” She then smiled,

”Good, but remember this.... I will always love you Sakura...”

“Me too... I love you too... Chaeyeon-ah”
