**Not a Chapter Update, but an Update**
Chaeyoung Gets a DragonHello, everyone!
Originally, when I first typed out this post, it was an announcement stating that Chaeyoung Gets a Dragon was going to go on an indefinite hiatus because I was having one of my usual mental (and emotional) breakdowns. However, I sat on that post for a few weeks and decided to scrap it. I've been on an unofficial hiatus over the last several months, but making it official seemed like I was personally giving up. To be clear: I'm not giving up. I'm not dropping this project. Even as I battle my own daily inner demons and 24 hour crunch, this is a passion project that I love. It's been so much fun writing and researching for this story. And I've been working on it in my free time - don't worry! But I will admit, it's been hard to find the time to work on this. Not only has the past year and a half been filled with the anxiety inducing pandemic and world problems, but I've been dealing with familial and personal medical issues, on top of getting a new full-time job.
That being said, there are other projects I want to work on too, both Twice related and original work. I have so many drafts of various Twice one-shots that I hope to complete; I have the Peter Pan au that I've been doing background research for; I have some new ideas for fairytale one-shots; I have my own artwork that I've been working on as well. A lot of creative projects for one small, simple human being. And a lot of work for someone who only has a few hours in a day to fit it all in. It might seem a little unfair that my attention is split in so many directions, but I find that this is the best way for me to not burn out my creative energy. It's like letting a pot simmer while you work on other dishes. (Hit me up if you ever want to brainstorm ideas about anything - your projects, my projects, etc. I find that it helps a lot when you talk it out with others.)
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for your patience. I'm sure it's been frustrating after I left Part I off with a lot of cliffhangers and all of my empty promises. I am so sorry. But! I will be back; I just need a little more time. I completely understand if you want to dip out of this story (you do you!), and I thank you for all of the support. I hope everyone is doing well and staying as safe as you can. We're all going through some rough times, but you're doing the best you can each and every day. Much love and appreciation to you all!
See ya (hopefully soon)!
TL;DR: This story is still ongoing, I'm just busy with life and new projects. Will be back at some point in time. Thank you for your support and patience :)
P.S. If you're looking for a good read/book, check out Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (2020). Clarke's writing is exceptional, filled with beautiful world-building prose and fantastical imagery; the inquisitive protagonist that brings you into his life immediately and makes you want to discover more. There's a mystery too, which of course is something right up my alley - and might be for you too. It is probably one of the best books I've read in recent years! But, that's just my opinion. Anyone else have books they want to recommend?
