Helpless
A week had passed since Mari and Baekhyun clashed during Chemistry class. It was amazing how the two of them could just blatantly ignore each other despite being seatmates.
It may seem like Baekhyun did not care about what had happened, but in reality, it was what he was thinking of majority of the week. She did call him an , after all. That was pretty harsh.
Baekhyun knew he had hurt her feelings. But he couldn't possibly know how he could make up for what he did. Saying sorry wasn't an option — his pride didn't allow it.
But never mind that, the paper needed to be written! And he knew he can't do it alone, the teacher wouldn't permit it. Thankfully, she also had the same idea.
"Hey, we need to get the paper done. Does after school in the library work for you?" She said, quite confidently, looking straight into his eyes. Noticeably, he flinched under her straight stare.
"Yeah," was all he managed to cough out. His eyes averted against hers.
Tapping her pen against her table, she calmly said, "I still think you're an , okay? That was pretty judgmental of you to accuse me of being two-faced. Granted, I didn't make the best impression, either." She said it, as calmly as she could.
Mari continued, "Let's just—just, get this finished." She finally finished her sentenced as her pen stopped bouncing off the table, the same time she looked away from him.
Mari was deeply hurt by what he said. Truly, she wanted to apologize upon realizing that she acted irrationally. She couldn't blame herself — she is grade-conscious! And this year isn't the year to be making mistakes, she had to get that valedictory speech she always wanted!
She thought what she did was right, however. As she apologized for her harsh actions. But what did she get? Another attack for being grade-
