Sakura’s Pov

 

The motor of her motorcycle drove off in the distant as I couldn’t hear it anymore.

 

“Chaeyeon.. Please… Don't go.. I need you..” I said in my cries.

 

The door is opening and you’re entering

You’re so pretty, so pretty

Slowly, slowly, you’re walking to me

 

“Ok. Class. We’re gonna start by having a lecture today about more depth about the wars in 1800s.” The history teacher, Professor Im said as I was confused

“Ye...ye..ye-o...gsa?? Eh?” I muttered as I was confused even more.

 

Why did I take history in the 1st semester of sophomore year.

 

I looked around as I tried to look for someone to help.. I look to my right as there was no one there. I looked to my left as I saw a girl with long mix with blonde and brown hair as she was totally focused in the lecture. I took some glances at her as I thought to myself.

 

I'm totally gonna have a crush on her.

 

I said to myself as I was look away, so she didn't see my blushing.

 

I look at her again as I reach out my hand to her and pat on her arm. She looks at me and gave me a smile.

 

“Ne?” She whisper as I looked into her eyes

 

Pretty.

 

I shook out of my thoughts as I tried to speak in korean

 

“Class is dismiss.” The teacher said as everyone got up from their seats and walked out of the class as we were the only two

“Uh.. I..”

“You don't have to force yourself to speak korean.” She said speaking in Japanese as I let out a sigh

“Hai. You can speak and understand  in Japanese?” I asked as she nod

“Hai. I can speak Japanese and understand you.” She said as I smile

“Oh thank god. I finally have someone to talk to.” I said as she giggles

“I see. I'm guessing you are new here at Seoul university?” She asked as I nod

“Ahh.. I see. Then do you have a question?” She asked as I nod

“Hai.. ummm. What are we learning?” I asked

“Ahh.. We’re learning about more details in the wars in 1800s.” She said as I went ‘0o0’ face

“Ooo.. Ok. Thank you.” I said

“Hai You’re welcome.” She said

“What is your name?” I asked as she smiles

“Lee Chaeyeon. And whats your name?” Chaeyeon asked back

“Miyawaki Sakura.” I said as she smiles

“Sakura-chan.” She said as I smile with her

 

It sounds nice to hear her say my name.

I walk inside the church as I walk towards Eunbi unnie and the others.

 

“Why didn't you guys tell me Chaeyeon was leaving?” I said as everyone stopped talking and looked at me

“What do you-”

“Why didn't you guys stop Chaeyeon from leaving!?” I said as Hyewon gently grab both side of my arms

“Sakura.. You’re making a scene.” She said as I shook her off of me.

“I don't care. You guys.. All of you guys didn't tell me anything about Chaeyeon. Everytime I tried to make contact with her text or call, she never contact me back at all.” I said as tears roll down my face.

“Sakura.” Eunbi said as I look at her

“Let's talk somewhere else.” A long black hair girl said as she was standing next to another girl with long brown hair that was slightly taller than her

“Come on.” Chaewon said as we walked out of the church.

 

Mutters can be heard as Hyewon voice apologized the commotion and continue on what they were doing. We went in a room as I sat down a chair as everyone was standing around me.

 

“Here. Your makeup is ruin” Yuri said as she handed me a tissue.

 

I wipe my leftover tears as I looked at the mirror and saw my makeup was totally ruin.

 

“The reason why she left is because of you.” Eunbi unnie said

“I'm guessing she talked to you before she left?” Chaewon asked as a voice said

“She probably saw Chaeyeon leave and wanted to talk to her.” the girl said as I was confused as she looked familiar.

“Who are you?” I asked

“Son Chaeyoung. Best friends with Lee Chaeyeon. And this is my girlfriend, Mina.” Chaeyoung said

“How did you-”

“I watched you talk to her when I saw you walk out the doors.” She said as I look down the ground.

“I know it's not your fault, but you brought pain to Chaeyeon. She’s heartbroken of what you have done to her.” She said

“I-I tried to stop her, but..”

“She told you everything.. Didn't she?” She asked as I nod

“Why did you do this wedding if you love her?” She asked as I shook my head

“I couldn’t stop it. My dad. He.. he forced me into the marriage that I didn't know until I was told when I was in my last year in college.” I said

“And she confessed to you when you were getting married?” She asked as I nod

“I rejected her.”

“Even if you loved her?”

“I had to. I was dating Hyewon.” I said as she shook her head

“And you didn't have the courage to step up to your dad.” She said as I went quiet

 

I couldnt.. Or else dad will..

 

“There was no way I couldnt step up is because…” I stopped as I didn't want to continue.

“Because of what?” she asked as everyone was listening to me

“Because.. My dad.. He said he try to ruin her rep cause her dad’s company and my dad’s company.. Are.. enemies. And If I were friends with enemies, my dad would move me away to a different school. I didn't want that.”

“So you decided it's best just to stay as friends?” Chaewon asked as I nod

“It was the only way to stay by her side, even if it hurts the both of us.”

“Does she know about this?” Yena asked

“No. I told her that it's best to stay as friends after she confessed to me. And will lose her if we were to ever breakup in the future as couples and as friends.” I said as tears started to form as I begin to wipe them while Eunbi was giving me more tissues

“I.. I didn't mean for this to happen to her. I'm sorry for everything. I tried to explain, but she didn't want to hear it.” I said as Yujin and Wonyoung hugs me to comfort me.

“Is there.. Anyway to make her change her mind?” I asked as Chaeyoung shook her head

“She already in the plane right now. The only way to make her change her mind is to go to the states.” Chaeyoung said as everyone nods

“Make everything right again.” Chaeyoung said as I nod

“Ne. I will.” I said

I am a Sophomore at Seoul University. I was walking around the university as I finished my classes. I saw a familiar figure as I saw that person doing something in the middle of the college with a camera. I was confused on what she was doing. I wanted to go up to her and ask what she is doing, but at the same time.. It’ll look like I’m too clingy.

 

Should I go?

 

I made my decision and went towards her.

 

Try not to act clingy Sakura.. People don't like that here.

 

“Chaeyeon!” I shouted as I waved my hand at her as I was walking towards her

She looked up from her camera as she smiled

 

Oh my god. Stop with your smile.

 

“Konnichiwa Sakura-chan.” Chaeyeon said in Japanese

“What are you doing?” I asked

“Photography.” she replied back as she gently lift up her camera to show me.

“Of me?” I asked jokingly as Chaeyeon chuckled

“Haha. Ani. Scenery.” She said as I went ‘0o0’ face while nodding

“Take pictures of me too.” I said as I backed up and bit and posed while she smiled at me

“Sure.” Chaeyeon said as she lift up her camera to her eye level

“1..2..3.” She said as the camera went click.

“More. More.” I said as she set down her camera and look at me

“I’ll take multiple pictures and I’ll show you after.” Chaeyeon said as I nod.

“Okay.” she said as she sets down the camera.

 

I walk towards her as she stood at the same spot. I went beside her and looked at the camera screen.

 

“Wow. Chaeyeon. You’re so good at taking pictures.” I said as Chaeyeon shook her head

“Ani. I'm still a beginner.” She said

“Ani. Jinja. Daebak!” I said in korean

“Thanks.” I said as I put my camera in my camera bag.

“Hey!” We heard as we looked at the person who was calling us

“Ah! Hyewon!” I said as I waves at her.

 

I watch Hyewon, a sophomore at Seoul university, same grade as me, walking towards us. In the corner of my eye, I could see Chaeyeon not happy

 

“Hi Chaeyeon.” Hyewon said

“Hi Unnie.” Chaeyeon said as she bow slightly to her

“Sakura. What are you doing here?” Hyewon asked

“Chaeyeon was taking pictures of me.” I said as Hyewon looked at Chaeyeon

“Ne.” She said

“Ahh.. I see.” Hyewon said as she looked at her phone.

“Shoot. I have to get going. I’ll see you later Sakura. Bye Chaeyeon.” Hyewon said

“Bye Hyewon.” I said

“Bye.” Chaeyeon said as Hyewon walked away from us.

 

Chaeyeon looked at her phone as it was 3:50pm.

 

“Yena!” I said as waving at another person.

“Hey Sakura.” Yena, a brown hair girl as she was also a sophomore.

“Who’s this?” Yena asked

“Ah.. This is Lee Chaeyeon. A freshmen and a good photography.” I said

“Ohh. Jinja?” Yena asked

“Ani.. I'm not that good yet.” Chaeyeon said

“Show her the pictures that you took of me.” I said as Yena nods

“Yea. shows them to me.” Yena said as she took out her camera and turned it on.

 

Chaeyeon showed her the pictures of me and other sceneries that she took.

 

“Hul! These look so good. Clean pictures.” Yena said as Chaeyeon smile

“Thank you.” She said

“Ah.. I didn't introduce myself. Choi Yena. majoring in music.”

“You always forget.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Hey. It’s not always. It’s a lot!” Yena said as I shook my head

“Weirdo.” I muttered

“I’m majoring in photography and dance.” Chaeyeon said

“Hul! A double major?” Yena asked

“Ne.” Chaeyeon said

“You’re family must be rich.” she said as she shook my head

“Aniyo.” I said

“Yena!” A voice said as we look towards the voice and it was the others.

“Yuri!” Yena said as she hugs the Yuri girl and kiss her in the cheek.

“Yah.” Yuri said as she was turning a bit red

“Stop with your PDA. Nobody wants to see it.” The tall black hair girl, Kwon Eunbi said

“You’re just Jealous Eunbi.” Yuri said as Eunbi rolls her eyes

“Who’s this?” Chaewon said as she was pointing her

“Ah.. Annyeonghaseyo. My name is Lee Chaeyeon. A freshmen, majoring in photography and dance. Nice to meet you.”  She said as I just stood there.

“Ah. Annyeong chigu!” Yujin said wearing her round glasses

“My name is Kwon Eunbi. A senior, majoring in dance and music.” She said

“My name is Jo Yuri. a freshmen majoring in music.” She said

“I'm Ahn Yujin. A freshmen and majoring in dance and music” She said

“Kim Chaewon. A freshmen and majoring in dance.” She said

“Annyeonghaseyo. My name is Jang Wonyoung. A freshmen and majoring in dance.” She said

“Ah.. so it is you.” Eunbi said as I was confused

“You’re the girl who dance by herself in the back of the dance class.” She said as everyone noticed.

“Ne.” Chaeyeon said

“It's nice to see you outside of class. You’re always quiet.” Eunbi said as Chaeyeon nod

“Eh? You’re quiet in your class Chaeyeon?” I asked as Chaeyeon nod

“Ne.” She said as I was shocked

“Wow.” she said

“Hope we can get along.” Yujin said as I nod.

“I need go. I’ll see you later Sakura. Nice to meet you all.” Chaeyeon said as I nod

“Annyeong.” They all said as we were the only left.

“Sakura’s crush?” Yuri asked as everyone looked at me

“A-ani.” I said as they smiled at me.

“Ayyyyye. Don’t lie. Hai or iee? (A/N: Yes or no) hana, dul, set!” Yena asked as I nod

“Ooooooooooo! Out Sakura!!!” They said as they keep patting me while celebrating.

 

I shook my head and put my head down as I pretend not to know them.

 

——

 

I finally reached home as I went inside the house.

 

“I’m home.” I said as I was taking off my shoes on the tile floor.

“Welcome home, Ms. Miyawaki.” Butler Wan said

“Where are my parents?” I asked him

“Your mother went grocery shopping with the maids as you father is in his office, having a video meeting.” He said as I nod

“Ok.” I said stepping on the wood floor.

“I’ll get your tea ready.” He said as I nod

 

I walked towards my father’s office as I peek through the little crack.. hearing a bit of the meeting

 

“So your daughter will marry my daughter?” My father asked

“Yes. It’s a perfect match for them and a perfect match for us to partner up and go against the Lee company. They have no match for us if we collaborate. And if we didn’t we, we would’ve been eliminated by them one by one.”

“That’s true. Do you have a picture of the Lee’s daughter?” My father asked as the man on the screen nods

“This is Lee Chaeyeon. The second oldest sister. She goes to Seoul university.”

“That’s where my daughter goes to.” My father said

“She might be there to target your daughter.”

“If she was, she would taken over her father’s company.”

“That’s true.”

“If I ever see this girl step into my house and is friends with my daughter, I will ruin her and I’ll move my family away from here.” He said as I was shocked.

 

No…

 

“Even if you ruin her, her father will fix her reputation.”

“That’s true.”

“Well, I’ll send you the file of everything you need for this marriage. I’ll talk to you later, Mr. Miyawaki.” The man said as the video call ended.

 

Chaeyeon

 

*knock knock knock*

 

“Come in.” My father's voice said as I push the door and walked in his office

“My daughter. How was school?” He asked

“Difficult. I’m trying my best to be better, father.” I said as he smiled

“It’s ok if you fail your classes. I’ll pay everything.” He said as I bow

“Thank you father.”

“Do you need ask my something?”

“No. I just want to see how you were doing. Don’t want you to overwork yourself.”

 

I couldn’t say it.

 

“Thanks for looking out for me. I’m fine sweetie.” He said smiling at me as I smile back

“I’ll take my leave then.” I said as he nod.

 

I walked out of his office as I closed the door behind me.

 

I couldn’t say to him that I love her

Traditional wedding song plays as the the door opens. Hyewon and her best groom friends walked behind her as the door closed behind them. Then the door opens again as little kids begin to throw flowers on the floor while the door closed behind them.

 

“Are you ready?” Father asked as he looks at me as I looked back

 

No

 

“Yea.” I said as he nod and the doors opened

 

The door finally opened one last time as everyone stood up. I looked up and saw everyone looking at me. I start to walking on the red carpet with her dad. I smiled at everyone that I see as I was halfway there, I could see Chaeyeon wiping her tears. I looked at her as our eyes met and we smiled at each other. I was at the end as my father gently moved my hand to Hyewon as he smiled and went to his seat. I walked up the steps as I looked at Hyewon.

The priest started to talk about love and life. We said our vows and the ‘I do’ part as Hyewon and I gave a gentle kiss to show to the crowd. Everyone cheered as they were happy for them

Will I really be able to see you?

I thought about it over and over

People standing as they were talking to other people and drinking wine while others were sitting in their seats, eating. I was standing next to my father as he was talking to his company coworkers. I looked around as I saw Eunbi unnie, Yena unnie, Chaewon, Yuri, Yujin, Wonyoung, Chaeyeon and two other girls were sitting at the round table. They were eating as I stood there, watching them while drinking my wine cup. I saw Chaeyeon not eating as I didn't want to go over there and ruin the atmosphere there and just waited. I watch as Chaeyeon walk away from them as she grab a wine cup from the waited.

 

“Excuse me Father.” I said as I stood up from my seat and slowly walked towards my way to Chaeyeon.

 

“Chaeyeon?” I said as her back was still facing me for like 5 seconds

“Sakura-chan.” Chaeyeon said as she turned around, showing the worst smile I ever saw

 

She hates me.

 

“What do you think?” I asked as she smiled again

“It looks good on you.” Chaeyeon said as I gave a small smiled

“Really?”

“Ne.” Chaeyeon said

 

Should I be asking this, even though she asked me out?

 

“I'm glad you could come to my wedding. I was afraid you might not come.” I said

“Why wouldn’t I? I'm your best friend and the cameraman-- woman.” She said

 

Did she force herself to come to my wedding?
 

“Yea. Anyways, thanks for coming. I hope the pictures turn out great.” I said as Chaeyeon nod

“It will.”

“Sakura!” A voice said as we turned and saw Hyewon calling with a smile on her face

“You should go. You don't want to keep her waiting.” Chaeyeon said as she smiled while I gave me a worry face

“But-”

I wanted to tell her..

 

“Go. We’ll talk in another time.” She said as I nods

 

I walk towards Hyewon as we grab each other’s hands and walk in a different direct. I looked back as I saw her expression. Sad. hurt.

 

I'm sorry Chaeyeon. Wait for me. Please.

I went to Chaeyeon’s friend’s Cafe shop as I grab my drink there.

 

“That would be $5.39.” The girl nametag, Chaeyoung said as I gave her the money

“Thank you. Please wait one moment.” She said as I stood at the pick up side and waited as she starts making it.

 

I looked around the cafe as there were many girls and a couple of boys here, sitting at their seats, looking at the girl, Chaeyoung working.

 

“Here is your frap, Sakura.” She said as she sets it down on the table along with the straw.

“Thanks.” I said

“Thanks for coming by. Have a nice day.” She said as she was about to walk away as I stop her

“Excuse me.” I said as she looks at me

“Are you friends with Chaeyeon?” I asked as she nods

“Yea? Do you know her?” She asked

“Yea. I sometimes come with her often.” I said

“Oh. No wonder, I recognized your name. Sakura-san right? What do you need?” She asked

“Can you give this to her if she comes by?” I asked handing her a letter that I written

“Why don't you give it to her?” She asked

“It's… complicated right now. I don't think she wants to see me anymore.” I said feeling uncomfortable right now

 

Even if I wanted to, Chaeyeon don't want to see me

 

“Oh. I see. Sorry for asking. I can see it's making you uncomfortable. Don't worry, I’ll give it to her.” She said smiling as I smile

“Thanks. I appreciate it.”

“No problem.”

“Thanks for making my drink.”

“Thanks for coming to the cafe.” She said as I nod and left the shop

 

I stood outside for a moment and started to walk.

 

“Sakura?” I heard a voice as I turned around and saw Hyewon.

“Hi.” I said as we walked together

“I see you grab a drink.” She said as I look at my drink and backat her

“Yea. Need to refresh myself since finals are coming.” I said

“Yea. I know right.” She said
