If you leave me, I won't hold you back. I'll let you go. Because I get it.

I remember the first time I saw you. For a time, a great amount of it, I've closed myself off to anyone. But that first time you laid your eyes on me, you started knocking on closed doors, started to try to break walls, rebuild bridges I've burnt down. Even with a long line of pasts, and though it might sound cliché, it's true that I've never felt this way, never like how I feel about you.

If you leave me, I won't hold you back. I won't ask for my chance. Not because I don't love you enough, you are enough, but because I think I'm not enough.

I thought I'm used to seeing people's backs as they walk away from me.

I thought I'm used to it by now.

But it hurts more than ever.

I'll let you walk away from me. I'll let you go.

I let you in, and if you leave me, I'll let you go but I'll stay.

Because I get it.

I'm a lot to get used to.

I'm hard to love.
