Hyomin POV:

" Hyo-- Hyomin-ah? " my dad's long awaited voice weakly came out.

" Appa! " I tried to hold the tears back. My dad! He's awake! He's awake! How could I not cry in this situation?

" How are you, my daughter? Are you doing well? " he asked me first.

I smiled, tears welling in my eyes. He had been unconcious for almost four days but he was asking me if I was okay. " Ye, Appa, nan gwaenchanayo "

" That's good to hear. " He smiled and closed his eyes again. I let him rest again but I never let go of his hand.

 

We stayed in the hospital for a few more days. My dad had woken up and was able to walk a while later. We helped him regain his leg strength by assisting him around the room. He began to eat and the doctors said he was able to leave any day. I came home with my dad just to make sure he was okay. I helped him get into bed and I stayed over to help him the next day also. 

" Hyomin-ah, thank you so much for taking care of me this past week. You need some rest yourself. Eunjung's mother and your brother can help me around now. Besides, I'm getting stronger each day, " he smiled assuringly. Soon enough my brother arrived and they insisted that I should get on to going home. 

It had been almost two weeks since I'd been home. I sent a text to Eunjung telling her I'd buy some groceries. That reminded me of something, Eunjung unnie! I missed her terribly. I wanted to go home and just hug her; she had stayed by me the whole entire time and I hadn't said a word of thanks at all yet. But when I got home she wasn't anywhere to be found, nothing but a note.

Hyomin-ah, I'm so happy for you! I'm glad you're doing so much better now that your father is getting healthier. When you come home I may not be here, I went to do some business with my Mom. So cook and eat dinner by yourself tonight, okay? I may be home around 10 p.m. Sorry I couldn't be home when you came back.

Great, I'd have to be alone tonight. I don't like being alone... So I decided to go to the nearby resturant I loved.

 

Finishing up the meal I had ordered, I decided to go for a walk in the park. The sun hadn't gone down yet so I figured I would get some fresh air before going home. 

 

' Oh, it's so beautiful this evening! '  I thought as I strolled around the park. The sun was on the verge of setting and the autumn leaves occasionally fluttered as a slight breeze blew by. I walked around the path that lead back to the playground and decided to sit at the bench next to it. There was a man in a suit lightly pushing a little girl in a dress on the swings. 

Wait.. Hadn't I just seen them at the resturaunt a while ago? The guy was sitting with four other adults and a little boy and girl. 

" Hyung! Let's play tag! " said the little boy I had seen, emerging from a slide. 

The guy pushing the little girl looked up bright-eyed and said " But what about your sister? No one will push her. "

" But what about me?! No one's playing with me! " the little boy whined. " I wish Cheondoong-hyung was here! " the little boy pouted.

The man laughed and slowed the girl to a stop. He said something to her and pointed to bench I was sitting on. He waved to me and I began blushing a little. I smiled and waved back. The girl looked up to him, climbed off the swing and walked over to me. 

" Hi, " I said, smiling, to the little girl.

" Hi, " she replied brightly.

" I'm Hyomin, what's your name? " I let her sit on the bench with me and we bagan talking. I didn't mind taking care of children, besides I had once worked at a day care. 

" I'm Lauren, " she said while flashing an adorable smile.

After a few minutes of unintentionally watching the man play tag with the boy, the sun began setting. The boy gave up and layed on a slide. The man laughed, patted the boy's shoulder and made his way to the bench. 

" Hi, I'm sorry for interupting you, " he said apologetically, bowing his head a little. " I'm Joon " he said smiling. I swear my heart just jumped..

" Oh no, I wasn't disturbed at all tonight, " I insisted. " My name's Hyomin. " I was glad the sun was setting to hide my reddening face.

" Okay Lauren, it's time to go home now. Can you go get Leo and say goodbye to Hyomin? " he said sweetly to the little girl.

She smiled and waved to me while getting off the bench " Bye Hyomin Unnie! "

" Bye Lauren! " I replied as she walked to the play ground to get her brother. Joon sat next to me.

" Sorry, it's just that I saw you at the resturaunt earlier.. " he continued apologizing.

I laughed a little, " Really, she wasn't a problem at all. I'm good with kids. "

" Thanks, " he said, still ashamed of what he did. I found it really sweet of him to be so burdened over what he had done. I looked over and got a better view of him. For a moment, I felt a bit light-headed. From where I sat, his side profile seemed flawless. He smiled a little as he watched the little girl shake her brother to help him recover. His smile had a perfect curve to it and I looked away, realizing I had stopped breathing. While I was looking away, I didn't realize he had turned to me.

" So, what are you doing out alone tonight? " he asked, breaking my thoughts.

" Oh! Um.. My friend was out so I thought I'd just treat myself out. " He was really good looking now that we were face to face. It felt a bit rude but I couldn't look away. " What about you? "

" I just had dinner with my relatives and I thought I'd bring them out to the playground before they returned home, " he explained. How thoughtful of him! 

Lauren and her brother came back and I stood, Joon following along. " Ah, the sun's setting so we'll  have to be getting back now. " 

" Oh, yeah, I've gotta get going soon too, " I replied, yet not wanting to leave. I felt a bit disappointed we had to part already.

" It was really nice meeting you, Hyomin! " he said as he began walking, holding the kids' hands and waving one.

" Bye Hyomin! " Lauren called again.

" Bye Lauren! It was nice meeting you too, Joon! " He was such a sweet guy! Although it was disappointing, I couldn't stop smiling as we parted ways. I made my way back to my car and drove home, wondering about the man I had just met.

 

Eunjung wasn't home yet so I settled onto the couch turned the television on. Before I knew it I fell asleep, still thinking about him.

 

 

Joon POV:

I was eating out with my parents, my uncle, aunt and their children. Of course for the adults it was a matter of business but they had brought their children to keep each other company. 

" Do you guys wanna go to the park before you go home? " I asked my baby cousins.

" Yeah! I wanna go play! " Leo responded by already jumping out of his chair.

I laughed at his hyperness and told him to come back.

" I'm taking the kids out to the playground, we'll be back before the sun sets, " I informed the adults before heading out with the kids, holding their hands. 

As we got to the play ground, Leo and Lauren were already running to their spots. Leo ran for the slide and Lauren went for the swings.

" Oppa! Come push me! " Lauren called out to me. I smiled, walked over and began pushing her carefully, making sure I didn't make her fall. 

" Are you having fun? " I asked. Maybe because I didn't have younger siblings, I really enjoyed my cousins, though they were a lot younger than me.

" Ye! " she responded while swinging her legs and smiling with her face against the cool breeze.  " Higher! " she told me.

" Are you sure? It might be too scary, " I warned her with a hint of sarcasm to my voice. 

" Higher! " she continued smiling, fearlessly.

Of course I didn't go full-on strength on her but I began to barely push harder and was still able to make her squeal. I couldn't help but smile and laugh along with her. 

" Hyung! Let's play tag! " Leo soon whined, asking for my attention. 

" But what about your sister? No one will push her, " I said jokingly, knowing he'd get annoyed.

" But what about me?! No one's playing with me! " he began shouting louder. " I wish Cheondoong-hyung was here! " 

I laughed, did he just say that he wished Thunder was here? I glanced forward, seeing a lady in a white dress. Hm, hadn't I seen her at the resturaunt earlier? She was eating by herself and now she was at the park, still alone.

I slowed Lauren to a stop and told her, " Lauren, go sit on the bench for a while okay? Noona will take care of you. I'm going to teach your brother a lesson. " I waved to the lady, who smiled and waved back. 

Lauren looked at me for reassurance and made her way to the bench. The lady smiled and greeted Lauren; they were soon having their own little conversation. 

" Leo! You're gonna get it now! " I laughed and ran to him. Soon enough I caught him and began tickling him.

" Did you just say you wished Cheondoong was here? Did you Leo, did you? " I asked while tickling him harder by the question, making him laugh nonstop.

I let him go and he began runnnig around. I chased him and played false moves, only to catch and tickle him again. He tagged me back after escaping and we went around like that all over again; catching, tickling, laughing, escaping, tagging, running away and repeat. Soon enough he made his way back up to the slide again and layed down. He was out of breath but called out to me, " I'm tired! " 

It was bound to happen sometime but I patted him on the shoulder and let him catch his breath again. The sun was beginning to set. I looked over to check on Lauren and the two were still talking. 

" Hi, I'm sorry for interupting your night, " I apologized. I mean I had just sent my cousin over without even knowing the lady and expected her to keep an eye on her, right? " I'm Joon. " 

" Oh no, I wasn't disturbed at all tonight. My name's Hyomin. " Her voice was melodic.

I tried to avoid heat from getting to my face so I turned to Lauren and said, " Okay Lauren, it's time to go home now. Can you go get Leo and say goodbye to Hyomin? " 

She waved and got down from the bench while saying " Bye Hyomin Unnie! " 

" Bye Lauren! " Hyomin replied. I glanced at her and couldn't help but smile. I felt a bit realieved that I had sent my cousin over to someone as nice as her. Lauren began making her way to where Leo knocked out so I sat on the bench, waiting for them. 

Could she tell I was trying to change the subject? Shoot.. " Sorry, it's just that I saw you at the resturaunt earlier.. " I apologized again. 

She laughed and said " Really, she wasn't a problem at all. I'm good with kids. " 

" Thanks " I guess I was lucky she was because I knew I definately wasn't... I watched as Lauren shook Leo from his rest and laughed a bit. Uh oh.. It's getting a bit awkard.. Say something!! 

" So, what are you doing out alone tonight? " I asked, still curious as of why no one would accompany her. 

" Oh! Um.. My friend was out so I thought I'd just treat myself out. " she was really beautiful now that we were face to face. I couldn't help but look away a bit, still a bit dazed by her beauty. " What about you? " she asked. 

" I just had dinner with my relatives and I thought I'd bring them out to the playground before they returned home, " I replied. 

Maybe a bit too soon, Lauren and Leo came back to the bench and Hyomin stood up. Not trying to be rude, I stood up also. 

" Ah, the sun's setting so we'll have to be getting back now, " I regretfully said, though finding the right words to keep it from sounding rude.

" Yeah, I've gotta get going soon too, " she nodded. I really didn't want to leave her yet. Curiously, I was about to ask her if she needed someone to take her home. I ceased, realizing that if she had gotten here by herself she would definately have a way back.

I held Lauren and Leo's hands again and before we left I waved and said " It was really nice meeting you, Hyomin!"

Lauren followed along with me and said " Bye Hyomin! "

" Bye Lauren! It was nice meeting you too, Joon! " she said before turning to go. I wish someone was there to accompany her.. 

 

When we arrived at the resturaunt again, the adults were at the entrance ready to leave. 

I walked my cousins over to their car. My aunt saw me holding Lauren and Leo's hands and said " Joon, do you want to take Dayoung out tomorrow since she couldn't come tonight? "

" Sure, why not? " I didn't have school tomorrow and I was glad to take her out since she couldn't make it today. 

" Alright then, you can come by any time you want " she said before leaving.

" Bye Joon! " my two cousins said in unison as we split up. I waved to them and made my way to my parents. 

" Did you guys have fun? " my mother asked when we got into the car. 

" Yeah, I think they had a good time. We met someone there too, " I told her.

" Really? Who? " she asked curiously. 

" A girl named Hyomin, " I blankly answered looking out the window. 

A girl named Hyomin.

My mom began asking me other questions about her but I wasn't really paying attention so I answered them with " I don't know... " 

 

When we got home I was getting ready to sleep. But instead of sleeping, I layed in bed for hours, unable to forget Hyomin's face, her smile. 

I might never see her again anyway. I tried shaking off our encounter earlier today. Might.

 

 

Hyomin POV:

" Hmmmm! Mmmmmmm! " I stretched out on the couch, sore. Sunlight was seeping into my eyes.

" Hahahaha! Awake? " I heard a familiar voice call me. Eunjung unnie! I smiled, jumped up and hugged her tightly. 

" Omo! Waegeulae(What's wrong?) " she asked me, shocked.

" I missed you unnie! I'm so happy you're back! " I hugged her tighter.

" Aigoo, you missed me? I missed you too. Ah~ Right! How's your Dad? " she asked me.

" He's getting much better! He's healthy and energetic again, as always, " I answerd her. She nodded in response.

" That's good to hear! Did you eat yet? Are you hungry? " she asked as she heard my stomach growl. 

" Haha, ne unnie. " She grabbed my hand and lead me towards the table with my favorite food waiting there for me.

" Wah!~ Unnie jjang! Gomabseubnida(Thank You!) " I said and dug into my food.

" Ah unnie, I went out to eat last night and then went out for a walk in the park. There, I meet a super sweet guy! Coincidentally, we ate at the same resturaunt too and he decided to take his cousins to the park so they could play there for a while. He was SUPER cute though! But the only thing I really learned about him was his name, " I started happily and ended with a sad tone.

She smiled at me broadly and said, " Sounds like someone has a crush! "

I just smiled at her remark and continued eating. I didn't fight back because... well... I think I really did have a crush on him!

We then finished our breakfast and headed to the couch.

" Hyomin-ah, do you want to go shopping? We haven't gone out in such a long time. Let's go, hmm? " she pleaded me. I did want to go shopping and it was about time we get some new stuff together too.

" Ne, unnie. I've been wanting to go shopping for a while now, but I never got to find the right time. Let's go! " I jumped up from the couch, got ready to go and we headed out the door.

 

 

Joon POV:

" Dayoung-ah~ Where would you like to go? " I asked her.

" Oppa, I want to play at the playground. Can we go to the playground, please?~ " she asked.

'' Ye, but we have to shop for some new clothes first. Okay, Dayoung-ah? " I told her. She nodded and headed towards her favorite store.

 

" Ne, gamsahabnida(Thank you)! " I said to the cashier as I bought 5 new outfits for Dayoung. We had spent about an hour and a half there. She thanked me by hugging and giving me the biggest smile I'd ever seen. I ruslted her hair and then began heading to the playground.

" Oppa, before we go to the playground, can we eat some ice cream first? Please~ " she begged.

I laughed at her aegyo and answerd, " Araseo(Okay), let's go. " I held out my hand for her to hold mine.

 

" Two mint chocolate ice creams, please, " I ordered.

" Ne, just a moment, " the cashier said before handing me the ice creams with a smile.

" Gamsahabnida, " I thanked and payed her. 

" Are you ready to go Dayoung? " I handed her the ice cream.

" Ne! " she nodded and smiled happily, stuffing the ice cream in her face. I laughed and grabbed a few napkins before leaving. 

On our way out, I bumped into someone. 

" Oh! Joesonghabnida(Sorry)! " We said at the same time. I looked down and saw a familiar face. It belonged to the girl I had been thinking about all night long. The girl I thought I would never see again. I felt a smille spread on my face. 

" Oh! We met last night, didn't we? " I asked her. I saw her cheeks turning red and felt my heart's pace changing.

" Ah, ne, annyeonghasaeyo! " she smiled brightly. 

I think it was fate seeing her again.

I was happy.
