*Chaeyoung’s POV*

---

There weren’t many options when it came to clubbing in this place.

The centre of the town was literally one block, with all the possible pubs we could go at that time of the week. Every other place seemed to be closed. Or shut down entirely.

”I recommend this one. It’s the oldest place in town but it’s worth it’s reputation”, the cab driver said when he parked the car in front of an old looking pub. ”Best drinks and best prices. You’ll love it.”

I frowned, looking out the window. Even the windows looked ragged, replaced with plastic. I wasn’t feeling the vibe, whatever it was.

”You don’t like it?” Bobby asked, glaring at me suspiciously. He could literally read my expressions like I’d said them out loud.

”Don’t let the outside fool ya”, the driver said. ”It’s a pretty comfy place on the inside.”

”Well, I’m in.” Bobby took some cash out of his wallet and opened the door. ”You coming?”

Still frowning, I thanked the driver and stepped out. It was raining slightly. Small, cold water drops fell from the sky, boosting the melancholic atmosphere. The cab sped off on it’s way and Bobby let down his hood, enjoying the calm rain. ”I needed this.”

I stared at him. ”You needed the rain?”

He nodded. ”Yeah, definitely.”

”Weirdo.”

”You know the saying, some people feel the rain and some people just get wet?”

”Never heard”, I mumbled. ”Can we go inside?”

”Hey”, Bobby chuckled and stepped closer to me. He pulled from my (his) hoodie string. ”Don’t get wet.”

”I’m trying not to”, I stuttered because of the cold. ”It’s difficult. As you see, we’re standing here and it’s raining-”

”Try feeling it”, he suggested, still playing with the string. ”We’re not going inside before you feel it.”

I sighed. But did as I was told.

In acting classes, I had been told to feel all kinds of things. It was crucial to the career, to be able to feel everything and use it as your tool. For example; use a feeling a song gives you in this part and use a feeling your mom gives you in this part. If I could feel the rain, I would be able to use that feeling whenever I needed to. I could just… go back to this and remember.

Remember closing my eyes and taking in a deep breath. Remember tilting my head back and letting the rain fall across my face, letting it’s soft touch wash away the anger. The negativity. Letting it wash away my insecurities. I exhaled and opened my mouth. ”I can feel it.”

When I opened my eyes, I saw a glimpse of something different in Bobby’s eyes when he looked at me. It was quickly replaced by a kind smirk. The one he’d shown off a lot lately. And I was crazy about it.

If I had been even a little bit drunk, I would’ve thrown myself at him. I had a feeling that that wouldn’t have taken me anywhere. It would’ve just made the next day awkward. For both of us. So I was glad I hadn’t drank anything. I was glad I hadn’t met him like I usually met guys. While I was out clubbing.

Suddenly I didn’t feel like drinking anymore. I wanted to be sober. With him. I wanted to learn more. I wanted to know what else I could feel. And I wanted to remember it all. ”Can we do something else?”

”What do you wanna do?” His voice was gruff. And his hoodie was getting soaked. So was mine.

I glanced at the pub. We were already there, so it had to be something that was close by. ”I don’t know. Get off the street?”

”Well the clu-”

”I don’t want to go there”, I blurted. It seemed to surprise him. ”I mean, let’s find something else to do.”

”You know, you could’ve said that a little earlier”, Bobby noted. ”Before we took the cab here.”

”There’s a park around the corner”, I said. ”There’s a country museum there. I saw it in the map today.” I wasn’t lying. While looking at the possible pathways, I had seen the museum in the centre of the town. For some reason I remembered it.

”I don’t think it’s gonna be open at this time.”

”We could check it out”, I suggested. ”Please?”

His eyes beamed at me. It was the first time I’d seen them do it. ”Okay. Let’s go then.”

Before we headed into the rain, I grabbed his hand again and held it against me. He didn’t resist. For some reason only this was somehow more remarkable to me than anything else I’d done with a guy. It made my heart flutter faster than ever before.

We walked to the park in silence, both of us feeling the rain as he’d put it. ”There’s the museum”, I pointed out when the yellow house peeked out from behind the trees. ”There’s a light inside.”

”It could be a guard or something”, Bobby said.

”It’s a country museum”, I said rolling my eyes. ”There won’t be ay guards. I bet they don’t even lock the doors for the night.”

”Well we’ll see about that.”

We walked closer, his hand in mine.

”Maybe it’s a ghost”, Bobby chuckled. I bumped my shoulder into his.

”Ghosts don’t exist.”

”How would you know?” He asked. ”You should definitely come to my ghost tour in Sanggang-ri.”

”You host a ghost tour?” We were at the first steps of the entrance.

”I do. And it’s very, very scary. You’d love it.”

Bobby knew I liked horror movies. He knew because he was a fan himself, and we’d talked about it on the phone. He didn’t like The Shining though, which I didn’t approve. Jack Nicholson was one of my favorite actors.

I grabbed the handle of the door and pulled it down. The lock snapped, telling me that the door was indeed open. Immediately I glanced up to Bobby, who seemed as surprised as I was.

”I didn’t think it would actually be open”, I admitted.

Bobby leaned forward and peeked inside past me. His other palm settled down at the small of my back. And just like that I was sent back to last night. The urge to bring it up was slowly growing in me.

”Hello?” He called, sliding through the door. I followed him, clinging onto his arm.

”There’s no one here”, he muttered. ”Weird.”

”It’s not that weird”, I said. ”It’s a country museum.”

”Yeah I know. But trust me, even country museums get locked up for the night. This is strange.”

I hummed. Maybe he knew what he was talking about. I mean, he did have some experience on that field. On country museums. ”Maybe they forgot?”

Bobby let his hand drop from my back and stepped back to close the door behind us. Then he moved further in the building to explore. ”I’ve always wanted to go to a museum at night.”

”Night at the museum”, I joked. ”Let’s make a documentary of it.”

”And get fined for breaking into a public facility?” He joked back. I rolled my eyes.

The museum wasn’t filled with extremely valuable things. It was more of a lifestyle museum. With pictures and dolls with old clothes on. Bobby seemed more interested in all of it. I was guessing this was actually fascinating to him. And just seeing that in him, that he was into it, made me like it too. Which was crazy.

Because if I’d done this with any other person than him, I would’ve bored to death. I wasn’t exactly into the whole ancient agriculture thing.

We hopped from a room to another, and in front of every single showcase, Bobby had something interesting to say. All I could say that he really knew his history.

When we had walked through every room, we returned back to the entrance room and checked that we hadn’t left behind any evidence of us being there.

”What about the footprints?” I asked, eyeing the muddy marks our shoes had left on the wooden floor. They were pretty obvious evidence of someone having been there.

”Let’s leave them. Maybe they’ll start a rumor about ghosts”, he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

”Two ghosts on a sightseeing tour in a country museum.”

”That’ll be our legacy.”

I chuckled once. ”I like it.”

”You like leaving footprints behind?”

”Yeah”, I admitted, sounding a bit crazy in my own ears. ”I mean… I’m glad we didn’t go to the pub.”

Bobby glanced at me while opening the front door. ”There are better ways to let off steam than drink it away.”

”Such as breaking into a museum.”

”For instance”, Bobby chuckled. We exited the building and walked down the porch. He looked at me and put out his arm. I grabbed it without hesitation. The air had gotten twice as cold as it was earlier and the sky was pitch black. I looked up, feeling the gentle raindrops on my face again. I could understand what he had meant by feeling the rain now. I didn’t mind getting wet anymore.

I heard Bobby chuckle all of a sudden. I looked at his amused expression, arching a single brow. ”What’s funny?”

His eyes fidgeted between my face and our linked hands. ”You told me you’ve never been on a date before.”

He was right. I had told him that, before we had even met. And I had told him that while being completely wasted after a night out.

”Remember? Then you told me to come pick
