Cordolium
Description
It could be nothing but wishful thinking on his part, Changkyun supposed, that perhaps someone would eventually take his hand if he reaches out long enough. Hoping for the uncertainty is indeed, after all, what keeps him going at this point.
Foreword
CORDOLIUM
(n.) A heartfelt grief, sorrow of the heart, a heartache.
They were all understandably disconcerted and quite openly aporetic, and somehow along the way, the bitterness had aggrandised into nasty resentment and hostility towards the newcomer who happens to be an unwelcomed addition among the other trainees in NO.MERCY. He was not at fault, technically, but it was far easier to make conjectures that state otherwise and put the blame on him because not once did he ever fight back to defend himself – as if he was not affected in the least.
He was so out of place there and they knew, for a fact, that a lot of people including the audience themselves could attest to that.
Nevertheless, bearing witness to the gradually prominent distinction of his persona on and off camera soon enough became harder and unbearably heartbreaking, exceptionally so when he seemed noticeably lost and terribly withdrawn as he was given the cold-shouder once again. No one was really proud of themselves that it took them months for the fact that he was just another kid in an unfamiliar place, unprepared, terrified and all alone to hit them right between the eyes.
I am with you
I will carry you through it all
I won't leave you
I will catch you when you feel like letting go
'Cause you're not – you're not alone
[This work is inspired by a song titled "Not Alone" by RED]
