so far, these were the possible reasons taehyung had gathered to help himself understand why he was crushing on a certain girl group member;

everyone yapped about her like she was some goddess that came down from the heavens and stopped a tsunami from hitting their village or something. they talked about her as if she was their saving grace. from his friends and staff and even to jimin; they all spoke so highly of her and the image he now has of kim jisoo is influenced by them. from what he's observed, they were right. she was nice and she had a great personality. she was quirky and bursting with attitude. she smiled with her eyes and her expressions were always so sincere and genuine. most idols tend to overdo it, but not her. not kim jisoo.   her voice. it was sweet yet hoarse, it was soft yet powerful. taehyung's heard of her adlibs. her "hidden vocals" in songs that got fans appreciating her more. she had a voice he wanted to sing a duet with.  she made him want to look at her. it was like she was a magnet, and taehyung was unfortunately made of pure metal. may it be on stage or off stage, he always finds himself looking. she wasn't pretty. snsd's yoona was pretty. twice's nayeon was pretty. jun jihyun was pretty. song hyekyo was pretty. but jisoo, she was obviously something else. she wasn't pretty, she was beautiful. the first time they met really left an impression on him.

his hand held the back of his phone, he was pressing it tightly against his ear and was sweating even when the aircon was on. his other hand twitched by his side and his mouth didn't stop blabbering. he couldn't stop blabbering. 

"i didn't mean to call, i just pressed it and it's probably like afternoon there and you might be busy and i may just be disturbing you. i really didn't mean-"

her laugh cuts him off. it sounded so clear, like she was right there. "it's fine. you didn't interrupt anything."

he stops talking and starts nervously chewing his bottom lip. "oh, well, i-"

"what time is it there?"

taehyung looked at the digital clock on his bedside table. "umm, 2 in the morning?"

she laughs again. "you're not sure?"

he automatically facepalms. "yeah, i mean, no, i'm sure."

"you're having a comeback soon. you're the one who's busy, v."

he sits on the edge of his bed, thinking of what to say next to her. "well, everything's finished. we fly back to korea later, and tomorrow, they're going to release the mv." that was an okay reply, at least he didn't trip over his own words or stammered. 

"i'll make sure to watch the mv.'' she says, causing something inside him to stir.

"uhhh.." he's lost the ability to talk coherently again.

when jisoo laughs at the other line and tells him to go to sleep, she hangs up and taehyung drops his phone to his lap. it had been short, just a little over two minutes but it felt way longer to him.  

he doesn't know what to make of the call, or the sound of her voice telling him that he should get some sleep, or the way his stomach felt during the entirety of it. but one thing was certain: he was whipped. 

jimin sits with taehyung on the flight back. he was supposed to be with hoseok, but taehyung needs to talk to jimin about last night. 

"she could be flirting back." jimin says after he's filled with the details. he has his eyes on his phone as he plays a game, fingers vigorously tapping as he kills his enemies but he's listening to taehyung's woes. 

taehyung slumps in his seat. "flirting back? i wasn't even flirting to begin with."  

"of course not." he says in a sarcastic manner, which makes the other boy roll his eyes. "but she answered, which is something. you should hit her up when we land or something."

jimin, taehyung decides, is not of much help after all.

it's only been four days and already, their feeds are flooded every hour by news and articles and messages from fans about how proud they are of them. their comeback was the most successful one yet, and they're grateful. truly, they are.  

taehyung's inbox is also flooded with personal messages from friends and family.
 

he didn't expect that she'd text him, but he still appreciated it and it meant that she wasn't totally creeped out by him yet. he had to continue in playing it cool, especially later.

"you almost forgot your script, mc." jimin smacks him on the back of the head as they exit the van before handing him the script taehyung got yesterday when they told him he'd be a special mc for inkigayo's super concert in daejeon later. and being a special mc meant being around the other mcs, namely jisoo.

"mr. kim taehyung," one of the staffs calls for him and he gestures 'see you later' to the other members since he was going to stay at the mc's tent instead of being with the others. some of his stylists follow suit and they are led to a white tent just near the platform where the mcs would be standing later on.

when they enter, taehyung is immediately greeted by jinyoung.

"hey, man." he rises up from his seat so they could shake hands. the two boys exchange pleasantries before the two of them have to get ready. "glad to see you again, congrats on the comeback."

"you too, thanks." he is directed by jinyoung to his own chair and vanity. when he's seated, his team of stylists go straight to work in making him look like his stage persona, v. the show would start in two hours, and yet as he looks around during the process of his makeover, there was no sign of her. 

taehyung tries not to think about it too much. so he relaxes in his seat and lets his team do the work. an hour and a half later, jinyoung calls for him so they could practice their harmony and teamwork and try not to look too awkward on live television later.

when he walks over, he feels a little giddy and twitchy when he finally sees her standing beside jinyoung. it's been months since the last time he's seen her. she dyed her hair a deep purple and seemed to have lost some weight. his nerves go more out of control when she turns around, so that they're face to face, and flashes him a small smile.

"hi,"

taehyung stops in front of jisoo, and the smile doesn't leave her face at all. he smiles back, or at least tries to and that makes her laugh a little. she grabs his arm, pulling him closer towards them, towards her, and they start their short rehearsal right away. 

taehyung doesn't know how to contain himself when he's this close to her. but he has to try.
