Chapter 1: Wow, this sounds very interesting and I do quite like the idea of parallel/alternate universes and whatnot. Also, it sounds pretty dark and gritty from the getgo; and I'm a er for that genre lol.
I like the whole concept with the observation through the mirror too. They really are a window to another world literally here.
