A Year Ago

I had a perfect breakfast today, I took my time eating that french toast

It was incredibly delicious, I'm probably late for work but who cares

I closed my book. It's called Fallen by Lauren Kate. It's just amazing. A whole philisophical realm diving deep into romance, I don't get why everyone says it's cheesy. It's sad how love can be forbidden, but not here in the real world, people do whatever the hell they want

I watched the clock make it's tick tock noise and with no surprise whatsoever I sighed

I'm so late, boss would not tolerate this all

I still need to shower, decide what to wear, and even digest all this food

Being a young business woman is incredibly boring when it comes to picking what to wear. They're so specific

I haven't been feeling so well, I'm pathetic

I dated this girl Jessica, recently we broke up. I wouldn't blame her, I'm an aromantic. I can't express feelings like love

When I was with Jessica, I thought I would grow to understand that feeling but nothing grew, nothing sparked. I felt absolutely nothing.

Love doesn't exist

Holding hands, I felt nothing

Hugs from behind, I felt nothing

Passionate kisses, I felt nothing

...

"Stop." I whispered to myself, I'm letting my emotions get to me. I don't have time for that.

I touched the handle door of my car but then I decided I'd walk today. It's not far anyway.

Block after block I kept thinking of the part where I left off in the book I was reading

“What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?”

That quote gave me chills

I squinted across the street and sketched out a short figure, my best friend Sunny

"Sunkyu!" I waved at Sunny across from the street and she didn't see me at all, I rolled my eyes and waited for the walk sign to appear

I walked step by step closer and also thought of how the day would go by

CRASH

The day went by in a flash

I saw blobs of colors, they were red, orange, they were flashing

My entire body felt numb and I couldn't move, I heard voices telling me it'd be okay even though it was a lie

"Taeyeon! Oh my god.."

I could memorize Sunny's voice realizing what had happened right in front of her

And with that were my last few sights before my eyes closed

Now

That was all a year ago, I dream of it every night

As of today, I live in a completely different realm that I thought were just illusions a year ago

My wings twitched a little

Speaking of wings, people usually think of wings that are white, mines are a light gold, from a far they could look white

They mean safety and clarity for others

Yet, I am still the same Kim Taeyeon

Sometimes I need to vent

Each and everyday I go to the resting cloud. It's not actually a cloud but it's one of the beautiful places I've seen in the Angel Realm. It's most beautiful at midnight where the skies are like a pastel and dark mixture. You get a view of the moon closer than the view you could see from your window

Instead of how I used to scream years ago, I just heave a breath, I can't be there for myself now, I'm an angel, I have to be there for others

"Hey, Kim." I felt a light nudge on my wings

"Kwon." I look behind me and see it's Yuri

She's well known as one of the dominions. She's in charge of making sure other angels complete their duties, I'm well acquainted with her, she comes around every then and now

"Guess!" She smiles and waits for me to answer

"Guess what?" I raise a brow and look past her to see if she wants to show me something, but I can tell it's not

"We're on the same mission! Well, yours is kind of different but we'll be going to the same place." She whispered as if it was a secret

"What do you mean? No one assigned me to do anything." I let my wings lift allowing me to fly just a few inches from the ground

She gave me a confused look, "That's weird, you may wanna talk with Yoona about it, you know, the domi-"

"Dominion, I know. Annyeonghi gasipsio." I immediately flew away to find Yoona to see what this is all about, it's all a misunderstanding

I spotted a glowing angel with a celestial color and could see it was Yoona, one of the thrones

I landed myself perfectly behind her a few feet away and dust came along too

A sneeze came and she turned around

"Excuse me!" I covered my mouth and then stood straight and bowed

"Taeyeon. Do you need anything?" She asked

"Yes, Yuri told me you had a mission assigned for me that was similar to hers, can you elaborate that?"

"Ah, of course. I was hoping Yuri told you about it."

I shaked my head

"Taeyeon, you'll be sent to Earth as the form of a human being. Your mission will be in your birth place in Seoul, Korea, you will be there for a month. You must take this time to make a girl fall in love with someone."

Why make someone fall in love with someone?

"This means your role as guardian angel will be changed over the course of this mission, if you are able to complete this mission, you will be promoted to chamuel angel." She said lightly. I took the first few seconds to consider this

"Sure. I mean like-"

"It is forbidden to fall in love with any human being, you are only going there to fulfill your mission and come back with good news. If you fall in love with this human being, you will be demoted to fallen angel."

Why force someone into something that isn't meant to be?

"I'll take the mission, no worries but.." I felt myself almost stutter

"Okay but who's the girl?" I asked softly
