Eva sat still on her bed, with no strength to move. There was once hope but seeing the situation now, the chances of her being together with Youngbae kept decreasing. She bit down on her lip trying not to burst into tears. However, it was not going to help, it will not make situation better. She was dating the misery and daydreaming into the night sky when she was distracted by the vibration coming from her phone. She answered the call. 

- PHONE CONVERSATION -

"Hello?" Eva answered 

"Babe, are you safely home? Really worried about you," Youngbae asked concernly 

"Yeah I just got home. I'm so sorry that because of me, you're grounded. Tsk..I didn't mean to..tsk...," she wept

"No, no baby. It's totally not your fault. Please don't bame yourself okay? My mum is just over-reacting. Even if I am grounded, I'll find ways. Ahaha you know your boyfriend have lots of hidden tricks. Damn I miss my princess already," Youngbae expressed 

 

There was a moment of silence when in a few seconds, the silence was broken by Eva's crying. 

 

"Please don't cry. It urged me to be by your side right now. Don't worry please baby," Youngbae requested

 

Youngbae remained silent for a moment to allow her to expressed her sadness. After five minutes, Eva was still crying and Youngbae was overloomed with remorse and could really understand and feel the pain that she was going through. He then cleared his throat and started to sing the song that he wrote for Eva.

"Goodnight my sweet love," Youngbae wished and kissed the receiver wishing that it was her lips

Another day has gone but the sadness still remains. After buying some books from the bookstore, Eva went to her favourite cafe. She sat and recalled those wonderful memories she and her lover shared.

 

"You're alone today? Where is lover boy?" asked the owner of the cafe 

"Hmmm.... he might not be here but always in my heart," Eva replied

"Awww.... that's why you guys are my favourite couple. Anyways, what would you like to have? The usual?"

"Well, I'll have one oreo cheesecake and vanilla latte please," Eva ordered 

"AND, another oreo cheesecake with hot chocolate for me please, thank you," another familiar voice interrupted

"I knew this fella will always be sticking to you hahahaha!!" laughed the cafe owner

 

YoungBae retrieved a nearby chair and sat directly a few inches beside Eva. He looked like happiness has soaked right into his bones.

 

"I thought you were grounded? How did---

"Told ya I have hidden tricks, hehe," he smiled cheekily

"Why are you looking so delightful? Like did something happened?" Eva asked in confusion  

 

Youngbae nodded like a little kid who was holding back some suspense. Eva let out a lethargic sigh as she was not in the mood to playing guessing games right now. 

 

"Haiz.... what's wrong with you? Did you manage to find someone else to replace me?" Eva said, trying her very best to allow the reason to spill out from his mouth

"I think I might have an idea to solve our problem," he beamed 

 

Eva who was sipping her vanilla latte paused for a while and brought her full attention to him. 

"You kidding right?" Eva asked doubtfully 

"Nope I would never lie. Why would I?" he asked back

"OMG babe!! For real?! Hahaha!" Eva exclaimed and gave him a hug

"Finally I get to see that smile of yours again. Muacks!" Youngbae said and planted a short kiss on her 

"I really can't wait to be a part of it. So what is your plan? Maybe I could let you know about my opinion on it," Eva suggested 

"Alright, here is how my plan goes," Youngbae began telling

Eva's Home 

"Mum hurry up, we're going to be late for the dinner. We can't be late for our dinner!" Eva exclaimed from inside her room

"I'm almost ready honey," replied her mum

 

Eva puts her black Aldo heels on and gave Youngbae a text as an update to ensure their plan will go on smoothly.

 

"Sorry honey. Had troubles putting on this dress earlier,"

 

Eva almost dropped her phone when she realised the sudden appearance of her mum but managed to cool off. 

 

"Woah mum you look gorgeous. I've booked a cab and it's reaching in 5 minutes," Eva updated 

 

While waiting for the cab, Eva's mum started to bombard her with countless of questions about Eva's sudden idea of treating her for a dinner at an expensive restaurant. Poor Eva, she had to crack out some ideas that would not expose the obvious reasons when the cab driver finally arrived. With that, both were on their way to their destination.

YoungBae's Home 

"Come on mum, we're almost late for the dinner!" Youngbae alearted

"Relax son. We're going to a high class restaurant in a hotel. I need to dress appropriately and look at you... my goodness YoungBae. You sure you're going to dress like that?" his mum marveled 

"What's wrong with my outfit? It's only a dinner," Youngbae argued 

"Go back to your room and dressed smartly now before I change my mind of having dinner with you!" she warned

"UGH!!" YoungBae sigh frustratingly 

 

A few mintes later...

Youngbae went out of his room and he almost fell backwards without expecting that his mum was directly standing right in front of his room. 

"Mum!!! I almost had a heart attack!" Youngbae complained 

"There, there. You look so handsome! I can't wait for her to meet you,"

"What do you mean 'her'? Who are you referring to?" Youngbae asked feeling so puzzled 

"Look at you, you're already excited to meet her. You'll know when we get there," answered his mum while brushing of the dust from his suit

"Mum what are you talking about?" YoungBae queried

"I'll tell you everything in the car. Come on, we're almost late. I'll see you at the car alright?" his mum ignored his question and went off

 

She left YoungBae with full of curiousity but decided not to get too stress over it and focused on his plan in getting Eva back.

Eva reached the restaurant 15 minutes earlier before YoungBae did. In the middle of a conversation with her mum, Eva's attention was being distratced by the presence of Youngbae and his mum. With her eyes only fixed on Youngbae's, she felt butterflies in her stomach and was too anxious that she could feel the sweat beading on her forehead.

Eva felt something was off when she tried to get Youngbae's attention. He was trying his very best to avoid having an eye contact with her.  Finally after a few minutes, both of their mums made eye contact with each other and automatically, a sense of disgust and hatred could be felt as they both rolled their eyes at the same time. 

 

"Well, well, well, I'm shocked that the both of you could afford paying for dinner in this retaurant," scoffed Youngbae's mum, Mrs. Dong 

"Pfft, just because you're rich doesn't mean you could look down on others. Like as if you earn all the money that you spent when the truth is all those money comes from your hardworking husband. I really feel sorry for him for having a wife like you," mocked Eva's mum

"AARRGGHHH!!" ranted Mrs. Dong who almost hit Eva's mum with her Louis Vuitton purse

"Stop!" Eva yelled 

 

Their mum turned to face her with eyebrow sticking upwards, feeling so surprised upon being shouted at. 

 

"Haiz... listen, I don't know what has gotten into you both lately. We've arranged this dinner so that you can make peace with each other. Please, don't let your emotions jeopardized our relationship. Mrs. Dong, I know I did not go to a smart school, I know I'm not as pretty as other girls and I definitely know I am not as wealthy as you are but my love for YoungBae, no one can ever replace that," Eva confessed and turned towards Youngbae who still refused to gave his attention to her

 

Eva was really expecting that Youngbae would at least support her statement but all she got in return was absolute silence from him. 

 

"Hahahahaha!!! You think by saying all that is going to change my decision about you falling in love with my son? NO WAY! I will never have a daughter-in-aw like you ever due to your low class status! And who are you to say 'we've arranged this dinner?'. From what I know, Youngbae did arranged dinner tonight and it's definitely not going to be with you!" Mrs. Dong exclaimed 

 

Eva was about to speak when she was being interrupted by a stranger's presence. A girl with maroon coloured curls who was wearing a dark blue evening dress greeted all of them and went to stand beside Mrs. Dong who was grinning widely. 

 

"You've arrived at the right timing my dear. Meet Sarah, my future daughter-in-law. Youngbae invited her to discuss further about their engagement ceremony. So if you'll excuse us, you can leave now cause you're no longer needed," Mrs. Dong shooed them out

 

YoungBae stared downwards with face full of disappointment as Eva grabbed hold onto his hands.

"Babe, tell me this isn't true. Please. What about our plan in getting things right? What is wrong with you? Why have you been so silent since just now? Say something please!" Eva begged, holding onto his hands 

The guilt was like gasoline in Youngbae's guts. He stared remorsefully into Eva's eyes but quickly looked away as he coud not bear seeing her eyes were starting to get teary. He then stiffened himself militarily and cleared his throat. Gripping onto her hands tightly, he confessed,

 

"Eva, we've been together for 3 years straight and I've come to realise that you're not the one for me. I know it's a bit harsh but you deserve someone better who could complete you. Trust me, I'm not the one. Just let me go and move on with your life okay? I'm really sorry to tell you this dreadful news and....

 

As YoungBae was about to continue, he noticed that his mum was giving him the you-better-not-mess-up-her-plan glare.

 

"And...I actually arranged this dinner not because of getting us back together but...to let you know my true feelings for you all this while", Youngbae continued and let out a diappointing sigh
