Night had fallen upon the land. Eva looked out the window. The sky was tar-black and the large clouds were moving towards her. A tapping sound could be heard on the window and then it became a pitter-patter. People ran for cover outside and umbrellas were opened as the clouds spat out their beads of water. Puddles began plinking as the rainfall became heavier. The roofs of the cars danced with spray and I could hear the murmuring of the rain through the window.

Out of a sudden, she heard a very grumpy conversation going on outside in the living room. Feeling so curious, Eva crept towards her door and peek form inside of her room. She saw her mum stomping back and forth, clenching her fist too hard, gritting her teeth, her hunched form exuded an animosity that was like acid - burning, slicing, potent.

 

"Now you listen here Mrs. Dong!!! First of all, your son don't even deserve to have a girlfriend like my daughter!! How dare you talk about my daughter like that?!! Your son isn't great either!" 

 

*a few seconds later*

 

"Uh-huh!! Well, your son is not that handsome and he deserves to be single FOREVER!!!! UGH!!"

 

The conversation ended and Eva made her way out of her room.

"Mum!! You yelled at YoungBae's mum through the phone like that? What is up with you?!" Eva accidentally raised her voice after seeing how rude her mum was 

"How could I not be so angry when she looks down on you so much! She thinks you're stupid since you just went to a normal college unlike her son who went to overseas college! She even say that you're ugly Eva! How could I not be so angry!" my mum exclaimed 

"That's bull mum. I know his mum wouldn't say such things about me. I mean it's really hard to believe because from the way she treats me for the past 3 years I had been with YoungBae, she treats me like as if I am her own daughter. You even joke around with her during the Christmas dinner last year mum. Why the sudden fight?" Eva questioned, getting annoyed that she crossed her arms across her chest 

"Eva for your information, there are two faced people in this world. I didn't expect she turned out to be that kind of a disrespectful woman! I just can't stand the way she looks down on you and from the start I already knew it. I mean it's obvious Eva, YoungBae comes from a wealthy family and we just doesn't match their standards! Pfft rich people!" her mum scoffed angrily 

"Mum! Stop saying that! YoungBae loves me for who I am!" I yelled back 

"ENOUGH! Eva, I had enough of this alright. From now on, stop seeing Youngbae. Don't ever see him again. He is not the one for you,"

"I don't believe you mum!!" Eva started sobbing 

"FINE!! THEN DON'T REGARD ME AS YOUR MOTHER!" her mum raged and stomped away

 

Eva went into her room and slammed the door shut behind her. She spend a few seconds to try to search for the reason and answers to all her unanswered question to the point she gave up thinking. She was still not satisfied and the frustrations kept piling up in her causing her to grab her phone. She started to text her boyfriend for a meet-up.
 

Text Message by Youngbae:

Alright love, There is something I need to tell you too.

I'll see you at the gazebo near your place. <3<3<3<3

Eva arrived at her destination in a few minutes and she sat crossed legged, feeling so nervous and tensed about what Yongbae has to say to her. She took deep breaths to calm herself down. Part of her told her that her relationship will be affected but another part of her tells hr likewise.

Eva began to overthinking that caused her breathing to become shallow and rapid. Her stomach was knotted up and she felt like crying for no reason. Suddenly, a pair of masculine arms embrace her from the back.

 

"Hey babe, sorry to keep you waiting," Youngbae apologised and gave a peck on Eva's forehead as he comfortably sat beside her, sharing the warmth by pulling her closer to his body

 

Eva wished she could control but her eyes were starting to get watery as she stared into Youngbae's caramel coloured eyes. With a warm smile, Youngbae moved closer to her and stared lovingly into her eyes when out of a sudden he gave a sudden peck on her lips. 

 

"Hey! Hahaha, do you have to?" Eva chuckled 

"Yeap I have to, cause you're irresistable, hehehe, so what is it you want to tell me?" he asked

"Well...," Eva hesistated

 

"Yes, I'm listening...,"

"My mum was on the phone with your mum earlier and it seemed like they are not on good terms. They were arguing on the phone about us and....from their conversation it looks like they don't want us to be together anymore," Eva lamented

"So it is true huh? That's what I wanted to tell you too. I heard my mum argued with your mum on the phone earlier as well and I kinda argued back with my mum cause you know how much I love you and you know I will never let you go. Haiz... I just don't get parents nowadays though, they always argue unexpectedly for no reason," Youngbae wondered 

 

Eva remined silent as negative thoughts were beginning to attack her mind continuously that she did not realised tears were slowly flowing out from her eyelids until YoungBae wiped it off for her. She let out a fake smile and avoid having eye contact with him before her tears turned into a waterfall. Once YoungBae got the hint, he pulled her even closer towards his warm embrace and kissed her forehead. 

 

"Babe, you know I won't leave you right?" he said 

"Tsk...you may never now. Your parents hated me and now I feel like I'm a burden to you...tsk..tsk..," Eva cried 

"Hey...shhh...look at me, come on, look at me in the eyes," Youngbae requested 

"Listen, this could be a challenge for us both. All relationship goes through it and it is to prove how strong our relationship could get. Think about it, the more obstacles we go through the more prepared we are for the future, aren't we? Whatever happens, I want you to remember this okay? Don't ever give up on us. Think might be crooked now but please don't give up on us. You are never a burden to me, you are a blessing. I love you and will fight for whatever that stops us from being together. But I can't do this on my own. I need my other half with me. Can you stay strong for me? We'll figure out a way alright sweetheart?" Youngbae comforted 

 

Eva went straight into his embrace and poured her heart and tears out. 

 

"I don't know why this kind of thing have to happen to us. I'm upset that our parents are no longer on good terms. I just don't want to lose you babe. Tsk... You're too precious to me..tsk.. I love you too much. Tsk...tsk...and..and.. my mum told me...I can't never see you again....tsk..tsk..," Eva broke down into heavy flowing tears

 

Youngbae tighten his embrace and rocked her back and forth while gently her brunette wavy hair. 

 

"Shhhh....shhhh don't worry babe,  we'll figure something out okay? For now I'm here for as long as you want. I'm not going anywhere and will never from your life. Promise you things will just get better," Youngbae assured 

 

Out of the blue....

 

*HONK, HONK!!!*

Both Eva and Youngbae jerked up in shocked. A black Ferrari car was parked right in front of the gazebo. The car door opened and out came Youngbae's mum with a furious expression being plastered on her face.

 

"YOUNGBAE!!! TOLD YOU NOT TO MEET THIS WOMAN EVR AGAIN!" she yelled in anger 

"Mum please. Why are you acting like this? I'm not leaving her!" Youngbae raised his voice 

"You better young man or I would do something you would not like," his mum warned

Youngbae was about to answer back when Eva grabbed hold of his hands. YoungBae turned around to face her.

 

"You should listen to her love. She is your mother. Go on, I'll be fine okay?" Eva assured

"But babe, this has gone way out of hand!! I want to get it right and--

 

Eva tighten her grip and leaned her forehead against his forehead, staring at him as Youngbae began to calm down.

 

"Listen to me. If you were to rage right now, situation will get worst and I don't want it to affect our relationship more. Please babe, don't worry about me and listen to your mum okay? You're her only son. Like what you've said earlier, stay strong for me too will you sweetheart? We'll figure things out, together," Eva whispered

"But babe...,"

"Please baby? God knows what your mum would do to you if you don't listen to her. I don't want anything to happen to you babe. I promise I'll call you once I'm home okay? Remember, I will always love you..tsk...take care okay?" Eva said sadly 

 

YoungBae stared straight into her eyes. He knows she was hurt, he knows she was heartbroken, he knows she was upset but he was so furious that he could not do anything to make this relationship better for now. Both stared at each other lovingly and Youngbae planted a long passionate kiss on her lips like as if it was their last time seeing each other. 

"I promise you, things will be fine. I love you my love. Please text me when you get home, promise to stay safe alright?"

"For you I will," Eva said 

 

"ENOUGH!! HOW DARE YOU KISS HER IN FRONT OF ME!! THAT'S IT, YOU'RE GROUNED!! NOW GET IN THE CAR!" his mum commanded
