Jiyong doesn’t know why he’s hesitating–this isn’t the first time he’s done this.

He’s standing outside Seungri’s bedroom door again, eyes bloodshot red from the lack of sleep, blanket over his cold shoulders.

Jiyong has been busy all week, all the producers were, from working on singles to be released, to monitoring the recordings of YG artists, he sometimes had to skip lunch because of how hectic it was these days. Despite it all, even his busy everyday wasn’t enough to have him collapsing till he’s passed out. For one reason or another, once he steps back into his and Seungri’s shared dorm, he’s more awake than he was the last twelve hours at the studio.

He’s long concluded and accepted it was his internal clock messing with him, royally ed up from his awful night owl habits, and he’s been dealing on working around it ever since.

It drives him crazy, drives Seungri even crazier because of the ruckus Jiyong would make in the kitchen to keep busy, waking the boy up at two in the morning because of it.

Seungri had exited his room one time, looking rugged and irritated, dragging a surprised looking Jiyong into his room, mid slurp from his midnight ramen.

“Sleep. Hyung. Please.” Seungri had mumbled robotically as he dumped the older onto his bed. He climbed right after, scooting himself beside Jiyong and throws the cover over both of them.

It’s the first time they’ve shared a bed, but Jiyong didn’t even dwell on how awkward it would be in the morning, it helped Jiyong sleep, his first proper sleep in a while as he found himself closing his eyes so quickly beside the boy.

And it wasn’t awkward. Jiyong had woken up to a note from Seungri, telling him breakfast was ready at the table with a smiley face drawn beside his name. They don’t talk about that time at all after that, but it never did turn awkward between them.

Jiyong spent the whole morning at breakfast wondering how it was possible; was Seungri’s bed just softer than his? Was the temperature in his room just right?

But ultimately, he figures it’s Seungri himself and his warmth, the way they find themselves clumsily tangled together through the night. They’re not at all a perfect fit, the both of them a mess of awkward limbs, but Jiyong’s never slept so peacefully until then.

With his nth sigh that night, Jiyong gives Seungri’s door a light knock.

“Seungri? Are you awake?”

When Jiyong twists Seungri’s door open, he’s greeted with the younger rubbing his eyes sleepily, curly hair up in all directions. He looks adorable, even with the frown curling on his lips.

“Who wouldn’t be awake,” Seungri mumbles into a yawn. “I could hear you breathing loudly against my door, hyung.”

“Yah, watch it.” Jiyong warns as he closes the door behind him, but his face is a funny mix of a scowl and a smile and Seungri breaks into a sleepy grin.

The younger scoots over onto one side of the bed and once settled in, pats the empty space beside him. It’s all the invitation Jiyong needed.

It’s quiet for a minute as Jiyong gets comfortable, the rustling of his sheets the only sound in the room as he tosses and turns on his side. He can’t seem to keep still. He worries his bottom lip, hands itching to reach out to Seungri who has his back turned to him. They’re in the same bed together, but Jiyong still thinks Seungri’s too far away.

“Seungri,” Jiyong drawls out, testing the waters, and when Seungri answers with a vague grumbling, a slow grin spreads across Jiyong’s face. He’ll take that as a yes.

“Sing for me, please?”

Jiyong’s grin only widens as he hears Seungri groan into his pillow.

“We recorded for the whole day today, hyung. Aren’t you tired of hearing my voice?” The younger whines.

Jiyong fakes an appalled gasp. “Never!”

When Seungri turns on his side to face him, eyes puffy and lips twisted in a cute pout, the older couldn’t help but laugh, pulling the boy into a giddy embrace.

Seungri whines about being let go, about Jiyong’s elbows digging into his back, but the younger’s words didn’t match his actions, and Jiyong hums, pleased as he feels the younger sluggishly snuggle closer, feels him rest his head into the crook of his neck and shoulder.

A pleasant sigh leaves the older’s lips as he tucks himself right in beside the boy.

“So?” Jiyong prompts, but his eyes are already feeling heavy, the comfort of lying next to Seungri and his pleasant warmth enough to lull him to sleep.

Jiyong didn’t even have to look down at the younger to know he was rolling his eyes. He smiles sleepily.

As soon as the familiar melody of Open Your Mind leaves Seungri lips, Jiyong almost sinks into his pillow.

It was the song they were making earlier that day–started out just to experiment, for fun, til it escalated to something even Teddy and the other producers were nodding their heads to the smooth rhythm of. With the beat addictively easy and the lyrics tasteful, they finished all Seungri’s parts so quickly because of it, but they’re not sure about the rap and who to get for it. They opted to leave in Jiyong’s guide track for now.

It’s sound amazing regardless. They’ve been jamming to it even after the recording was finished, singing along to Seungri’s soft voice that both contrasted and complimented the sultry tune of the song, to Jiyong’s husky voice that meshes so well with Seungri’s.

“Oh baby close your eyes, close to me.” Jiyong hums with the boy, their contrasting voices blending so sweetly.

At the even rise and fall of the Seungri’s breathing, his eyes flutter shut.

It's been a good few months since they’ve moved into one dorm.

It was Hyunsuk’s idea to make them dorm together; with Jiyong being Seungri’s closest companion in the company, and Jiyong volunteering to help in Seungri’s debut preparations, he thought it would be an ideal setup.

Jiyong had to mask his excitement standing in from of YG in his office when the older tossed him a set of keys. Beside him, Seungri fakes a gagging sound at the proposal. Jiyong bursts into laughter, tackling the younger playfully, but he could see the same excited twinkle in Seungri eyes at the thought of living together. They couldn’t wait.

The first few days were hell.

The thought of have a place to themselves was exciting, but the actual moving in was torture. They took the day off to fix up the place, make it look more lived in, oppose to just an empty space to keep hold of their things. Jiyong didn’t realize he had so many things until he was packing up at his old tiny dorm room.

The sun was already setting when they found themselves exhausted to the point they were just sitting at the foot of their unassembled sofa, staring blankly at their ceiling fan as it spins idly.

They did not move until Jiyong’s mother made a surprise visit and scolded them to finish assembling the furniture. Seungri was quick to butter her up to help them out with their things and really, not even Mrs. Kwon can resist the boy’s adorable antics. Jiyong had to try his hardest not to laugh as his mom eventually picked up a broom, chartering away with Seungri as he went through their many boxes.

Contrary to their first few days, it’s been a great few months.

On the rare occurrence they had time off, they spend the afternoons just talking until night falls, never a dull moment with their infinite stories to tell. They were also still religious with their dramas, wanting to never miss a second of an episode. Jiyong was infinitely grateful for Seungri’s shoulder to lean on as they gushed over Goong’s finale.

They were having a light dinner with Chinese takeout after a long day when Jiyong stops and eyes Seungri across from him in concern.

“How are you feeling?” He asks. He knows it’s been hard for Seungri these days, but the boy looked especially sullen today and Jiyong didn’t like it.

Seungri lets out a shaky sigh, putting his chopsticks aside. “I don’t know.”

These past few weeks had Seungri restless. With his initial date for debut passing without him releasing anything, he hasn’t been able to sit still, let alone sleep.

“My debut, it keeps getting delayed.” Seungri rests his head onto his folden arms on the table, having no strength to look up at Jiyong. “I’m not sure if I’m even going to debut at all at this point.”

The debut was planned early at the end of the last year, with plans of Seungri debuting early January, but it’s mid-June and Hyunsuk still hasn’t notified Seungri of the official date. It was going so well until YG focused his attention to the other group of trainees that were also gearing for debut. That included Youngbae’s solo debut as Taeyang, and as promised, Jiyong got busy helping him out with it too.

“Each time the date changes, I would go into the practice rooms and notice flaw after flaw.” Seungri lets out a tired laugh. “It’s frustrating.”

“I’m sorry,” Jiyong murmurs as he mirrors Seungri, resting his arms against the table. He reaches out to give the boy’s hand a comforting squeeze. He hasn’t been able to help Seungri practice these days what with the work he has to do with other YG artists, but the younger is always quick to shake his head whenever Jiyong apologizes, always telling the older it’s not his fault.

“You shouldn’t be.” Seungri mumbles. “Being my babysitter is not your job, hyung. I know you have work to do too.”

Jiyong grins. “Bummer, I kind of like the babysitter title. Makes me feel important.”

Seungri rolls his eyes at him, but even with the boy’s mouth out of view, Jiyong knows he’s smiling. He smiles too.

There are some nights they don't even get to see each other–either Jiyong had to stay up at the studio late to finish projects, or Seungri is the one staying back, wanting to get a extra round of practice.

Some nights it's just Jiyong in his room. It’s at quiet moments like these that he notes how stiff his bed actually is, a result of how little he spends his time in it.

Jiyong doesn't even mind the sleepless nights alone, knowing that Seungri is out enjoying the cityscape at Naksan Park, watching the moon glow yellow from the brick bridge.

Jiyong
I hope you have a coat on with you.
I know it’s summer now, but the nights are still cold!
Love you <3

Seungri
I brought your jacket ^^ It’s warm.
Don't stay up too late!

Jiyong
Good night, baby *^^*

Seungri
.............No.

Jiyong
>:(
Yah, don’t even THINK about coming home!

Seungri
...Right :p Good night, hyung.

From his bed, Jiyong looks up from his writing with a smile, watching the glow of the same moon Seungri loves.

One morning, Jiyong receives a hushed warning from Youngbae he didn't understand.

Jiyong and Seungri were walking down the hall to the cafeteria, the older’s eyes on his phone as he unconsciously reaches his hand out to Seungri’s, wanting to intertwine their fingers together. He turns to the boy when Seungri snatches his hand away like he was burned, and when he looked up, he meets eyes with a Youngbae pursing his lips down the hall.

“Be careful.” Youngbae grumbles, stirring his cup of tea with ease, contrasting the serious look in his brown eyes.

Jiyong blinks. “Of what?”

“Things you don’t realize you want.”

Before Jiyong could ask further, Seungri comes back to their table with a trayful of food. Youngbae drops the topic just like that, no matter how many puzzling looks Jiyong sends his way.

Receiving the green light to record and film Seungri’s debut song had the boys both nervous and excited.

Jiyong in particular had a twinkle in his eye as they exited Hyunsuk’s office, hands itching to grab Seungri and lead him to the recording booth right that instance.

He’s been working on Seungri’s debut song since winter–most nights spent waking up at the brink of dawn wrapped in his cocoon of duvets as he stumbled to his desk to write. Inspiration strikes him at random, which was also another precedent for Jiyong’s ed up sleep schedule, known around the company and experienced first hand by Seungri as they started living together.

Strong Baby is a late birthday gift from Jiyong. He wasn’t kidding with his persistence to get Seungri a gift no matter how much the younger told him it wasn’t necessary. If Seungri was stubborn, Jiyong was even more so.

Jiyong was excited to show Seungri the song, he’s been hiding it from him for a long time, wanting to surprise him and all. Hyunsuk, Teddy, and even the staff knew about it except for Seungri. Jiyong wanted to make sure the song was to be be pushed through and not exiled to the pile of songs that were being withheld for release.

And Jiyong wasn’t disappointed.

Seungri had a cute blush on his cheeks as he read over the lyrics. He just laughs as he watches Seungri’s eyes flash with changing emotions when he plays him the guide track for the first time. The intro in particular had Seungri covering his mouth to bite back a giggle, the chorus they easily sing along to because of it catchy lyrics.

“I guess it’s kind of catchy.” Seungri had muttered. Jiyong smiles at the way Seungri tries to look unimpressed. If the boy was going for nonchalant, he failed to mask the spark of excitement in his eyes, how much his body was responding to the music. Cute.

“Are you sure Hyunsuk-hyung approved this?” Seungri asks.

“Got it all covered, baby.” Jiyong only smiles knowingly, hooking an arm over the boy’s shoulder who quickly shoves him aside playfully.

The recording session was fun.

Jiyong couldn’t help but tease the boy each time he would getting embarrassed to start a new verse, bursting into hysterics as he instructs Seungri to “sound y”, only for the younger to give him the most confused face.

“What does that even mean?” Seungri whines beside him.

“Just give it a shot, Seungri.” Jiyong whines back with much more dramatic flare. “It’s easy. You can do it, I know you can.”

When the younger moves to stand, Jiyong reaches out to give Seungri’s an encouraging pat.

Seungri just rolls his eyes at him as he enters the recording booth. “Okay, mom. Calm down.”

Jiyong wrinkles his nose. “Never pegged you to be an Oedipus.”

Seungri’s head snaps to glare at him and Jiyong laughs. When Seungri starts yelling at him into his microphone, Jiyong is quick to turn the volume down, stomach hurting from laughter as he watches Seungri scolding him without knowledge his words weren’t heard from the other side of the glass.

Jiyong swore Seungri’s eye lit up like fire at the comment, but the cutest pout was decorating his lips and he couldn’t help but push his buttons further. Flustering the boy was too much fun.

It took a couple of trial and errors, but Seungri eventually gets the hang of how to sing it the way Jiyong intended him to sound. Jiyong whistles as they listen to the playback, impressed.

It lasts the whole night, but it was worth it, hearing the first drafts of the song coming together had the both of them excited to finish it so quickly.

When it came to the final verse, Seungri slumps to the floor of the recording booth as Jiyong stood up and held up two thumbs up, the proudest grin decorating his lips.

They celebrate the night splitting a cold popsicle by the vending machine they always come across on the way to the dorm.

It’s almost four in the morning when they got back to their dorm, sleep easily taking over them as they found themselves knocked out on their sofa the next morning, coats and boots still on.

At the music video shoot, Jiyong was a lot stricter in his instructions. From beginning to the end, he heavily partook in the production of it.

From the cinematography to the dance, he wanted to make sure Seungri shone through the screen, make sure Seungri moved as flawlessly as he envisioned his movements to be.

Jiyong quickly notices how jumpy Seungri is today.

He flinches when Jiyong leads him to the set to do a few test runs. When it came to review the dance routine, Jiyong furrows his brows at the boy’s missteps, pulling him to his chest just in time before he trips over his own feet. It happens a few times, each time with an shaky apology on Seungri’s lips.

“You alright?” Jiyong would ask in concern. He figures the boy just has the jitters, finally being able to work on his debut and everything. But Jiyong couldn’t understand why Seungri would feel the
