To say Jungwoo couldn't sleep all night long wasn't understated. Sleep-deprived has not once he experienced in life, but this was the first he ever felt, he might have done something with unjust. Jungwoo groaned as he recalled a certain image of a particular someone. Thrashed and turned himself at the bed, burying his face to the pillow then, Jungwoo did before unleashing a scream within the pad. He was mad at himself and it took him the entire night to realize what was causing such strange behavior of his.

The idea of Lucas being crestfallen has ghosting him and it was the main reason behind all of this.

There was a little part of him that hoped, last night, it wasn't only his mother and Jaehyun who stopped by his room to ask if he was alright. Of course, he didn't open the door because he locked it and pretended to have falling asleep. Jungwoo was used to have Lucas checking on him, but since yesterday's occurrence, the latter has not dared to even call his name.

Lucas was a ball of sunshine and it involved someone as harsh— and selfish— as Jungwoo to shut down his whole high spirit. Jungwoo acknowledged he was the bad guy, but again, his stubborn mind convinced that his behalf should be the most important.

Still occupied within his disordered thinker, Jungwoo didn't notice there was another person knocked on his door.

“Son, are you awake?”

Jungwoo was soon on his feet to open the door for his father. Keeping in mind, his mother must've told the old man some stuff because he rarely was visiting Jungwoo's territory.

“Hi, dad…” Jungwoo greeted, cursing deep within since he saw his reflection by mirror in flash and he looked like , especially for the eyebags.

To be honest, Jungwoo has prepared of being scolded by his old man. For the reason, his father must've seen this from a very different perspective rather than using any sentiment. Jungwoo knew since his own personality was a copy of his father's and he took what's physically from his mother. If Jungwoo was reserved and always accentuated his logic, that's because his father did as well.

The father trailed his son who retreated to the bed with his complete suit, about to head to the university.

“Your mom told me, you haven't eaten anything since last night…” His father tapped his knees as he sat on the edge of his mattress. In which Jungwoo pulled and folded his legs to be wrapped upon his chest. “Just eat some meal your mom made and then you can go to sleep.”

“Later, dad.” Jungwoo tried to assure his old man, but who was he to fool his exact duplicate who had even more years of expertise.

“Let me tell you something,”

His father cozied in position to face the son.

“Not everything in the universe we can interpret using our logic.”

Jungwoo frowned as it was the first time his father ever stated something like this and the use of one specific word made his mind flown into somewhere else. Somewhere as a certain person was using the exact term to describe what was happening.

Exactly, what is the universe doing right now? Jungwoo questioned himself that.

“I don't get why you're saying this, dad…” Jungwoo uttered, truly without any other intention.

His father smiled before patting his head. “You're growing up, son… You have to know, if I let my logic came first, I might not end up meeting your mom and we won't have our biggest blessing, which is you.”

To have his father said such thing was really topping up the notch for Jungwoo. Well along, Jungwoo threw an initial smile toward the older. “Thanks, dad.”

“Anytime, son.” Replied his father the same, before he turned around again when reaching the door verge. “Lucas is staying at Jaehyun's since last night with WinWin, too… Just in case, you're looking for someone to have breakfast with.”

Jungwoo simpered as his father closed the door. Leaning to the headboard and wondered.

Not everything came upon has to be make sense… It already didn’t since day one anyway.

After having deep conversation with his father, Jungwoo fell asleep for God knows how long and he panicked when later he woke up at early evening. An hour was enough for Jungwoo to do the required deeds. Filling up his empty stomach and took shower, in advance now he was expecting to be picked up by Jaehyun in front of his house. The older was the first person he called after awakened, as Jungwoo completely aware Jaehyun knew where he can find Lucas.

The sun had set when the plain white tees and denim cladded Jungwoo climbed on Jaehyun's black vehicle. “Where are we going, hyung?”

Jungwoo must've began a talk since Jaehyun never becoming this aloof toward him.

“Are you kidding?” Jaehyun shot the younger a glare before focusing to the road ahead. “To where Winnie at with Lucas, of course.”

“O-okay…” Jungwoo responded with small voice, shifting gaze to the outer setting.

It was just a matter of seconds as in then came Jaehyun's long preach.

“I don't get why Winnie is still letting me pick you up so that you can meet his cousin…”

It was true though, WinWin was an angel in regard such matter and Jaehyun could be the other way around. Typically, when he acknowledged who was at fault. The older would be so objective, not considering even it was his dear Jungwoo himself.

“And if I were Lucas,” Jaehyun sighed when stopping at the intersection because of traffic. “I don't want to see your face, ever again.”

Jungwoo was hesitant, moreover when he saw a glint of disappointment of the older's eyes and he worried it should've been worse for Lucas. He definitely was, but Jungwoo needed Jaehyun now to rely on as his brother, by way of he was still digging to make sure. “Is it that bad, hyung?”

“You broke his heart, Kim Jungwoo.” Jaehyun responded, afore driving the car when the light turned green. “That's how bad it is.”

WinWin and Lucas were expecting Jaehyun's arrival in front of one famous barbeque restaurant at a lively district in the city. Jaehyun warned Jungwoo previously, only him and WinWin knew that he was coming along to the place. Judging of how Lucas expression turned darker, Jungwoo observed it wasn't a good welcome at any cost.

“Hi, Jungwoo!” WinWin was all smile when Jaehyun disclosed the passenger's seat window, revealing a flat face Jungwoo and the older told those two to enter.

“Hop in.”

Jungwoo perceived Lucas seized WinWin to do so, as the tallest whispered something and caused the other reconsider.

“It's okay, you're sitting at the back with me.” Maybe WinWin did intend to speak clearly for Jungwoo to hear.

Lucas was the first to get in, effecting he settled behind Jaehyun and WinWin at the back of Jungwoo. What an odd for Jungwoo to grasp Lucas' reflection from the rearview, as the latter fixed gazing outside the window, not uttering any when the car kept moving.

This Lucas was very much unlike the one Jungwoo used to be acquainted with.

Half hour spent for the next drive without certain purpose, Jaehyun and WinWin were running out topic beside chatting about their earlier visit to Namiseom and how Lucas fancied the dak-galbi. Lucas was merely responding anytime Jaehyun or WinWin asked him any feedback.

Jungwoo, on the other hand, couldn’t decide of any right timing to absorb his reserved trait even more than usual. Jaehyun must’ve known this better than anyone else, so that’s why he pulled his car over in a vast parking lot of one coffee house, by means turning to see WinWin at the back seat.

“Want to grab some drinks, babe?” By the look of his eyes, WinWin could grasp what was his real purpose. “Just you and me.”

Jungwoo was the first to react as he shifted to the older cousin. “Hyung, I’m kinda thirsty, too—”

“No, you stay here.” Jaehyun was firm when he countered the younger.

As well as WinWin did correspondingly to his cousin. “You, too… Stay here.”

Jungwoo and Lucas had no choice but to look at each other. The thing that subtly did by both of them through the rearview, along the way since they silently met in the ride. Their mirrored expression was in disbelief, specifically when Jaehyun informed them, in due course both the elders went.

“Don’t try to open the door, or else the alarm would switch on and we don’t want to take care such racket.”

Too late for Jungwoo and Lucas to act in response. Whereas they caught Jaehyun did locked the car from outside, before he and WinWin waved cunningly at them.

“You really think they can solve their problem?” Jaehyun asked his boyfriend while he wrapped around the smaller’s shoulder, walking toward the shop.

WinWin smiled as he clutched on Jaehyun’s midriff, restoring the self-assurance. “If we can make it, then I don’t get why they can’t.”

Lucas could take another exhale and Jungwoo would sense of how uncomfortable he was to be in this situation. Trapped with someone he wished not to see, in one vehicle, although Jungwoo was at the front seat and he was cross wisely seated at the back.

WinWin must have planned something with Jaehyun, as suddenly the boyfriend needed to go somewhere when earlier they were at the barbeque place.

Jungwoo debated with his stubborn self, whether he should go and talk first to Lucas. Speaking of how Lucas was not even coming back with the stare he withstands for a good minute. For the last time, Jungwoo made a mental note, which anything he intended right now was going to be worth it.

With a clear huff, Jungwoo climbed in where sandwiched by the seaters, moving to the vacant one next to Lucas. The latter couldn’t shift his gaze to somewhere else as Jungwoo struggled to fit his long legs, settling next to him really with an effort.

“Hi,” Jungwoo took another breath as he finally been facing Lucas.

Mission accomplished, for Kim Jungwoo to make a huge, initial step of sacrificing his self-esteem.

Lucas didn’t budge even though Jungwoo tried to curve the edge of his lips. He w
