Something fishy
The girl of many questionsThe glowing letters of a small fish restaurant shone on to the drunken guests who stood right bevor it, laughing, talking. Small crowds, sure, she could handle that. Next to the restaurant was a little garage, it had a car and some wood stored. Probably to repair boats. The car looked old, but It could get her somewhere, and that’s all she wanted.
Not everything. She was still hungry, and some alcohol after the rather exhausting trip to the coast, would help. What a great coincidence that this place, was a restaurant. Named “Kang’s”.
Inside where some boat and sea stuff hung up. Also pictures of fishmen, with really, really big fishes on their arms. The place was pretty packed, and because of the rather small room, it was especially loud. Some music was ringing in her ears. But she focused on other things. Like the faces of the people. He wasn’t one of them.
“Hi! What can I get you?” A bright smiling girl said to her. Her eyes disappeared, as her smile continued on. She was obviously a waitress, wearing a black shirt with an apron. Her name tag read “Kang Seulgi”. So she owned the place? I didn’t matter. She just wanted food, a drink and to get far far away from where ever he was.
“The menu, as a start.” She stated dryly.
The waitress pointed to a small table right by the wardrobe. She was astounded that this place even had a wardrobe. From the outside It looked rather shabby. Except for the laughing people. As it seemed everyone came here from the fisher village.
“Could you just get me what you would like to eat?”
The young waitress halted in her fast steps, as she heard her voice.
“What I would like to eat?”
The woman before her smiled. “Exactly. If that isn’t too much of a hassle. And a beer, please?”
The waitress just nodded, and went to the kitchen. The door had a round glass window, and she could see a man in his 50s. Same slanted eyes as the waitress. So he was probably the owner. Both of them didn’t seem dangerous, so she could take them out easily.
She didn’t really notice at first. But after she was monitored for a month she just checked every face in a room. All the doors, windows, and if she could take them all down. It was easy for her. Martial Arts master. But even the tallest guy could be brought down by a gun from a distance, and so could she. One shot, it was over. Wearing dark clothes was a logical thing to do, fleeing another. Why she choose this village? Maybe because off the fish. She didn’t know. One fish was staring at her from the plate the young waitress brought her.
“That’s what I would like to eat right now.”
“Thank you…. Seulgi” She smiled, her cheeks red from the beer. “Are you the owner?”
“No, my dad is. He’s the cook by the way.”
“Oh. Well then I will try your dads talent.”
“Okay. Have a good meal.” The girl smiled, brightly again.
her heart stung a little, having to rob these people. Instead of the rich guys. But she was as broke as she could ever be.
She has changed her plate number around five times since she started to run away, hide. To steal another car would be the only thing she can do now to really go under. She deactivated her credit card, changed her hair colour to a light brown. Make her look innocent. She wasn’t Irene anymore, just Bae Joohyun. A normal girl, on a trip staying in this village. What was wrong with that?
The waitress took the empty plate -where a fish laid just some seconds ago- to the kitchen, giving Irene a dashing smile. “So, you must have liked it?”
Irene nodded. “Very much so, your dad really does have talent.”
“I´ll forward him the message.” The girl- Seulgi turned around, her hair in a high ponytail swinging with her fast steps.
Irene decided to have another beer. She knew that she couldn’t sleep otherwise, even though she has been driving for ten hours today.
The small dinner was getting empty slowly, only some drunk men were still on a round table laughing loudly. When Irene ordered her fourth beer Seulgi allowed herself to sit on the opposite chair of Irenes table.
“You`re not from here, Maam.”
Irene didn’t want to go too much into detail about herself, but not giving any name would seem suspicious, plus being called a Maam made her throw a tantrum in a second.
“Bae Joohyun for you.”
The waitress smiled a little
