I hurried to input your order into the register, but my hands were shaking so much that I had to re-do it twice. It was hard to concentrate with you sitting just a few feet away; I couldn’t stop myself from sneaking peeks at you.
You fiddled with your phone (perhaps you were waiting for a text?), before placing it on the table and taking out a book. I craned to see the title and held back a snicker when I saw it was some generic romance novel. How predictable.
Though I studied you intently, you never seemed to notice me. Then again you never did. I tried to tell myself that I didn’t mind, but I was never good at lying to myself.
The little bell at the kitchen window rang and I hurried to pick up your order. If I didn’t hurry, then someone else would deliver it. Donghae always liked to serve the cute ones himself. But this time I would be the one to bring you your drink. I swallowed my nerves and hoped that you wouldn’t notice the slight trembling of my hands.
