CA-23: ARCHIVES
[09.03.2015]
The counselor room in their third level of the school building was freezing like ice—no amount of heater would be able to counteract. Kang Yuri straightened her blouse, looking at the computer. Hyosung was reading through the files, which Yuri instantly held hers, recently given. But she quickly turned away to her laptop—a blurred footage showed a man in black military cap and black jacket approaching a younger boy at their grey schoolyard. The latter looked insuspicious however, as he was much busier putting a hoop through the basketball ring.

"You know, I felt like he might have missed out several choices in the honor rolls this year." Yuri said.

"Well, he'd said that the boy had some potential in him, even if he is ranked lower than the average," Hyosung said. She could notice that Yuri was doubtful, and may had all reasons to be. The boy was a much obscure choice, and had all the evidence against him that he couldn't have the 'it' factor. Especially when she knew him frequently called to her office whenever his grades stooped lower. But she's willing to set them aside, this time. Just... not sure.

Hyosung gently walked down to watch above the hacker, and Yuri couldn't help but get slightly anxious at her piercing green eyes, but no words came from her, although she could see that the older woman backed down slightly.

"I apologize," she said.

Yuri turned, surprised at her sudden apology. "What for?"

"Your personal space," Hyosung inhaled the sharp air. "I should've been more considerate about it, and I supposed I am being too impersonal with your space and... if I'm being too rude again, please do tell me."

A sudden silence engulfed them again. She could've felt total indifference had Hyosung not asked for the apology, but she knew that the older woman had worked with Johak for quite a time. Four years ago, even.

"Well, not being rude, but," Yuri said. "Thank you, I'd say."

"What for?" Hyosung looked up from her papers, caught off her guard.

"Getting me in Johak," Yuri said. "is probably one of the best things for me. I mean, I didn't know that you guys had some really excellent technology and all. And not landing me in juvie, four years ago."

Hyosung nodded, and Yuri could quite noticed the look of understanding in her face, before something seemingly light up across her and Hyosung said, "Speaking of technology, I think I might have some new feed about Samsung's recent security system. Might probably help you in cyber crime in the long run."

"Tell me more."

Another miss.

He looked with slight frustration at the ring. It's been the third time, and none of them seemed to get into the ring. Maybe it wasn't his lucky day, or not. He did remember about something that he had seen, for quite a while. Someone was approaching him, a man, and both of them talked about something. Their voices were very inaudible, although he remembered cursing in excitement.
He did remember clearly that he was at the schoolyard, and the clouds were grey.

Which is, supposedly, now. He'd rarely thought it could've been incorrect, not when the same thing had been bugging him for days. The images just rushed repeatedly, and when he tried remembering them, the more he forgot. Someone has to be there, right? Something about it made him felt a rush of excitement. Future predictions are always unpredictable, and when surprises are good, it's great.

After wandering around, he decided one last throw. It bumped off the loop, but as he was about to catch it, someone picked it up, and threw it in the loop and it went straight in. Looking at the man, he grinned. The person was him. "Hey! I've been waiting for you!"

The man looked slightly taken aback, but decided against saying anything. He sat down, and the younger boy followed. "What's your name, though?"

"Soon Jookyung," Jookyung said. "Lee Jisung, born in March 1, 1998, from Busan. Am I correct?"

Jisung looked in awe. "How did you know about that?"

"My co-worker helped." Jookyung nodded. "Anyways, I've got some news for you. You know you can read future, right?"

"Pretty sure I am," Jisung chuckled, gently dribbling his basketball.

"And you would almost be close to graduating, correct?"

"That's obvious."

"And I know you're talented and smart, although you're a first-timer," Jookyung calmly rolled his sleeves. "So as your first project as a spy, would you be willing to participate in Project CA-23?"

"Really? What's the crime about?" Jookyung could see Jisung's eyes twinkled, and he couldn't help but had a slight grin in his face.

"So, basically, four people had been either missing or dead, and we're supposed to solve the case. You're willing to go through it?"

Jisung sat silently, before he nodded, his mouth wide. "Shut up—no way—this is basically an X-File project!" Jisung whispered, covering his mouth. A disbelieving laughter came out from the younger boy, and Jookyung couldn't help but chuckle, either way.

"It's an in, then. Welcome to the club."
