“Dad, I’ll just buy a cake for mom”, Hyesung said as they are heading back home.

“Let’s stop at our nearest café”, Mr. Shin said to their family driver.

“No, just take your time”, his father replied.

Hyesung’s eyes glisten as he is looking at the cake display at the café.

“Good evening, Sir. How may I help you?”

“Good evening, I’ll have one of this”, he said while pointing at the Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake

 “Okay, Sir. That will be $26”

Hyesung hand over his credit card and pay for the cake.

“Here’s your card, Sir. Thank you.”

“Please wait a minute, I’ll just box your order”

“Okay”

While the attendant is packaging Hyesung’s cake, he looked around the café and looked particularly at the table in near the entrance.

“Sir, here’s your order”

“Sir!” The attendant rushed to Hyesung, as he falls down on the ground”

“Sir, I think something is happening inside the café”

Mr.  Shin looked at the café and saw the employees panicking. He looks closely at the person who faints and was shocked as he realized it was Hyesung.

“Hyesung!”

He quickly got of the car with the driver and went to the café.

“Excuse me, please make way”, the driver insisted.

“Call the ambulance now!”, Mr. Shin exclaimed in panicked.

“Yes, Sir”

“Is he your son, Sir”, the manager of the café asked.

“Yes. Please help me to carry him”

“Yes, Sir.”

The ambulance arrived at the café and went to Hanshin Hospital

“Hon, are you at home?”

“Yes, dear. I just finished preparing the dinner. Where are you? You should be here an hour ago.”

“About that dear…”

“What happened? Tell me already.”

“Hyesung…”

“Hyesung?! What happened to him?”

“We rushed him to Hanshin Hospital.”

“Why? What happened?

“As we’re waiting in the car, we heard a commotion inside the café and then saw him lying on the ground”

“Suddenly?”

“Yes, I asked the attendant in the café about what happened. She said that while he was preparing his order, he looked around the café and he was staring at something”

“Then?”

“When his order was ready, the attendant call him, but he could not hear her”

“The attendant called him three times and then he collapsed”

“Which café did you go to?’

“At our café near our house”

“Why there? Have you lost your mind?!”

“Why are you angry?”

“Never mind, as long as he is safe and sound, I am relieved”

“Yes, the result of the medical examination will be out later. You don’t have to worry now.”

“Mom, Dad…”

“Hyesung, dear”, his mother rushed beside her son.

“How are you feeling?”

“What happened? Why am I here?” asked while feeling confused.

“Just take a rest first before I explained everything to you.” Mr. Shin said.

“Mom, can you help me to sit?”

“Of course, my dear”

Mrs. Shin helped her son to sit on the bed.

“Aww..” Hyesung exclaimed as he holds his head.

“Why? Does your head hurt?”

“Yes, a little”

“Can you now explain to me what happened? Last thing I remember was I am waiting for my order and then all went black.”

“You collapsed in the café while waiting for your order”, his dad added.

“I collapsed, why?”, he asked in confusion.

“I really have no idea. The attendant said that she called you three times, but you did not response. She also added that you it is like you were staring at something at the café before you fainted.”

“I was looking at something?”

“That is what I want to confirm to you, what you are staring at the café before you fainted?” his father asked.

“Eric…” the first word the came to his mind as he remembers what happened in the café.

“Eric?”

“Yes, it’s the same guy in my dream.”

“What do you mean?” his mother asked.

“He ordered the same cake I ordered for you in that same café and he was with someone. I only saw the girl back and he said it was her favorite. As they ate the cake the girl said, “I love you, Eric” and the guy, Eric replied to her, “I love you too…Before I was able to hear the girl’s name I fainted”

“Did you just day-dreamed?” his mother asked.

“Maybe, but why it seems so real, as if I was there at that exact moment. What also confused me is I fainted as I was about to hear the girl’s name. It is like my dream, I always woke up at the time the guy was about to say her name.”

“You don’t have to over think. Just rest. We’ll solve this later, okay?” his mother reassures

“Okay, I’ll just take a rest now. My head still hurts. Good night, Mom, Dad.”

“Goodnight, Son. Sleep well.”

The young man finds a sit in the café to eat the cake he ordered.

“Why he always ordered that cake and he always sits on that exact place.” One of the attendant asked.

“He is one of our valued customer, he always eats her with his girlfriend.”. One of the attendant answered.

“Why is he alone now?”

“I heard that his girlfriend died six months ago. That particular cake was her favorite.”
