Tao was incredibly comfy. Oh he just wanted to close his eyes and just let sleep take over his body. His body was draped limp over Yifan's. The vampire was holding him in his lap as he tried to finish up the last of his homework. Yifan's ice cold skin cooled Tao down. It was a strangely hot autumn day and Tao had made the mistake of wearing a sweatshirt with his skinny jeans. Granted, the sweatshirt was technically a crop top but it was still heavy and made Tao uncomfortable. Yifan had one arm wrapped around Tao's waist, his hand splayed out underneath the latter's sweatshirt. Tao purred as a cold hand made contact with his back.

Tao was incredibly comfortable.

Just as he was drifting off the sleep, Yifan slammed his textbooks shut, causing Tao to flinch harshly and his hair to poof up in reflex.

Because Tao was a shapeshifter, he carried some traits of a cat and jaguar when he was a human. Meaning, when Tao gets scared (which was like all the time), his hair stands up straight, like he poked a finger in an electric socket. That's why, scaring Tao is one of Yifan's favorite past times.

Yifan chuckled as he smoothened down Tao's spikey brown hair, "Sorry kitten, I didn't mean to."

Tao scrunched his nose and stuck out his tongue, "Yea, yea, whatever."

Yifan grinned, "Wanna go for some coffee?"

Tao nodded and slowly slid off of Yifan. He packed up his textbooks and homework (which he did none of) and swung his bag over his shoulder. Yifan also packed up and waited for Tao. The cat was typing away at his phone and when he finally slid the device in his back pocket, Yifan had his hand outstretched. Tao grinned and took his boyfriend's hand, interlocking their fingers tightly. Together, they left the school library, chatting about the new drinks that were released. Tao really wanted to try the pumpkin spice catnip latte.

"My brother told me that the blood and rose lemonade is really good." Yifan said, unlocking his car. Tao grabbed both of their backpacks and tossed them in the back before sitting in the passenger seat, "Really?"

Yifan nodded, "Yea it's got this tangy taste, he calls it. And it comes in A and B positive!"

Tao rolled his eyes at his boyfriend's excitement before sitting in the front seat of the car.

Tao lived a pretty satisfying life. Actually, not much bad happened, except when he gets caught in the rain. Tao really hated water. He lived in a pretty good sized home with his mom and dad. He had a really big room that was decked out in the latest and best scratch pads for shifters (he was spoiled okay?).

He had a boyfriend who basically worshipped the ground he walked on and he had an amazing group of friends who he would kill for. (He would say die but what's the fun in that?)

He had a really good routine too. Tao would finish his homework during his free periods and hang out after school with Yifan. They would go to the café near the school (since it was monster friendly) and have impromptu dates.

Other times they would go directly to Tao's house (Yifan lived in a cold spooky castle) and cuddle there while Yifan struggled to finish homework that he put off. Tao loved his life, he truly did. And he was immensely happy. Yifan could tell his kitty boyfriend was in an especially good mood because as they walked to the front of café, his ear popped up on his head and his tail wiggled gleefully. Tao was a shapeshifter. His mom was a witch and his dad was a were-jaguar (who could only shift on Wednesday nights).

With their combined powers, Tao had the ability to change from human to jaguar anytime he wanted. But it was exhausting keeping his human form all the time so his natural state was when a pair of jaguar ears appeared on his head and a tail erupted from his lower back, just above his .

Yifan seemed to notice that Tao was deep in thought because he nudged the lithe male, "You good kitten?"

Tao nodded and motioned to a table in the back, "Let's sit there."

The two sat down in the booth. Like always, Tao sat in the inside and Yifan scooted in next to him. The two always preferred to sit next to one another instead of across.

Tao wiggled his nose, scratching it as Yifan pulled his notebook out of his backpack, "Hey Kitten, do you have the notes from today's lesson on the history of monsters?"

Tao nodded and rummaged through his own backpack to pull out a leopard print notebook. Yifan took it gratefully and started copying down the notes that he missed. Yifan wasn't a very good student and usually dozed off during class. Tao was the one who always made sure he kept up (which gained him a permanent good spot in Yifan's parents' books.)

The waitress came over, her usually mummy wrappings covering her whole body, except for her bright yellow eyes, "What can I get you desert flowers today?" She asked with a faint accent.

Yifan didn't look up from his notes, "Can I get a blood and rose lemonade please?"

The mummy waitress nodded and scribbled it down on her notepad, "and you?" She asked, locking eyes with Tao.

Tao hummed, scratching his cat ears, "Can I have a pumpkin spice latte with two shots of catnip aaanndd a plate of fish fries please?" The waitress nodded and headed off to place their order.

"Yifannie?"

The vampire hummed, still busy jotting down notes.

"Yifan."

"What?"

"Yifan!"

Yifan looked up irritated, his grey eyes flashing a vibrant red, "WHAT?!"

Tao smiled, showing off his feline fangs (they were so cute oh my god! Two little baby fangs!), "I love you."

Yifan sighed, rolling his eyes. He tried to hide his giddiness with an annoyed expression but Tao could see right through it.

"Do you love me too?" Tao asked so innocently, even though he knew the answer. His tail whipped in the air playfully as he stared his vampire down. Yifan scoffed and placed his head on his hand, his elbow resting on the table, "Of course Taozi."

"I want to hear you say it." Tao was feeling very playfully today and was enjoying the attention Yifan was giving him.

Yifan grinned as he scooted closer to Tao, his red eyes burning with desire, "I... love...-"

"YIFANNIE!!!!"

Tao almost hissed at the interruption. He glared at the rude intruder. It was a cat. A shapeshifter like him. Yifan turned around, his eyes widening as he took in the monster in front of him. His neon red eyes faded to their normal stormy grey color as he stood up.

"Oh my god, Suyin?!"

Tao felt his jaguar ears flattening on his head as he watched his boyfriend hug this...this tiger shapeshifter. Disgusting.

If Tao was in his jaguar state, his hackles would definitely be raised. He looked the shapeshifter up and down, his lip curling into an unfriendly sneer. 
Could you tell he was possessive?

This, Suyin chick was wearing ripped mom jeans (how basic) and a mustard yellow top (even more basic) and a bomber jacket (gross....actually Tao loved bomber jackets. It just looked gross on her.)

She also wore those fake round glasses. She looked like she stepped right out of a Tumblr post. Tao hated it.

He looked down self consciously at his own ripped skinny jeans and sweaters crop top. His shirt ended right above his belly button so unless he lifted his arms, you really couldn't seen any skin, only the top of his jeans. His self doubt vanished as fast as it came. Of course he looked better then her. Who did she think she was?  Finally Yifan sat back down next to Tao and motioned for Suyin to sit across from him.

"Kitten, this is Suyin. My childhood friend. I haven't seen her in years!"

Suyin laughed (which was fake as just about everything else about her), "Oh stop it Yifan. I'm glad to see you again."

She leaned forward, her striped tiger ears on her head wiggled gleefully, "Maybe we can catch up." She purred, placing a hand on top of Yifan's.

OH HELL NO. 

Tao stood up abruptly, "Oh sorry, Yifan and I are just about to leave. We're kinda busy."

Yifan looked at him confused, his eyebrows raised, "What are you talking about? We just got here, our food hasn't even arrived yet."

Tao mewled unhappily but he sat back down. His tail twitched anxiously as he listened to Yifan and Suyin speak. His boyfriend wasn't a big speaker, and preferred to listen to Tao yammer. Only with a select few did he talk freely. And now...here he was, chatting away with Suyin. It upset Tao but he didn't say anything.

Finally as the food arrived, Yifan stood up, "I'll be right back guys, I gotta go use the little vampire's room." With that he got up and left the table, unaware that leaving these two cats alone might end up starting world war three. Tao sniffled all snobby like and reached over to grab a fish fry. Except his hand was smacked away by the tiger shapeshifter. Immediately, Tao's ears pressed against his head, his lips curled into a snarl.

"Who are you anyway?" Suyin asked, picking up a fry with her nail claws, "You know, besides a nuisance."

Tao frowned, "Excuse me? I'm Yifan's boyfriend."

Suyin looked up at him, one eyebrow raised (god it was so fake and drawn on), "Yea, not for long."

Tao snarled, "Excuse me?" His hands were gripping onto the cushion of the booth, his cat claws digging into the cushion and making small rips. Suyin giggled, "Yea! Now that I'm here, Yifan has no reason to stay with you."

She leaned over and grabbed Tao's drink, sipping it loudly, "Besides, I have more to offer."

Tao stood up abruptly, shaking the table and the dishes that sat on it, "Uh, what are you going to offer? Your nonexistent sweetie?"

Suyin stood up as well, leaned closer to Tao, "I've known Yifan longer. I know what he likes and dislikes."

Tao leaned even closer, baring his fangs at the girl, "I'm his boyfriend. And I'm pretty sure I know what he likes too. At least, that's what he told me last night." Suyin's face flushed red as she sat back down, angrily chewing on another fry.

Tao picked up his backpack and swung it over his shoulder, "I may not have known Yifan since he was a kid but I know him know."

Tao stepped out of the booth, and before he left, he couldn't help throwing one last comment at the latter, "Oh, and don't talk like you're more attractive than me. At least I don't look like a piece of paper when I wear a white shirt." With that, Tao walked away.

Suyin 0. Tao 1.

Yifan came back a couple seconds later, painfully oblivious, "Hey what did I miss-" he faltered when he saw only Suyin sitting down, "Where did Tao go?"

 

Tao mewled as he rubbed his head against Luhan's shoulder. The demon was chilling on the latter's bed, his body leaning against the backboard. Tao was getting ready for his date with Yifan while Luhan sat in his room, accompanying him.

"Lu ge~" Tao whined as he slid off the bed. He was only wearing an oversized sweater that had kitten paw prints all over it. He refused to wear pants yet because he couldn't choose between the white skinny jeans with the rips, or the normal white skinny jeans. Luhan paid no attention to it, seeing how the sweater came down to the latter's midthigh. Besides, he was too busy texting his angel girlfriend. (Cliche, he knows, a demon dating an angel but hey step off! He was happy.)

"Luhan pay attention to me!" Tao yowled, his voice sounding like a whining kitty. Luhan sighed in frustration as he set his phone down, "What's wrong Taozi?"

Tao grabbed his tail with both hands and played with it nervously, "This new chick, Suyin the tiger shapeshifter. Apparently she's Yifan's childhood friend."

Luhan made a hissing sound, "Oh that's never good."

Tao shot him a glare before continuing, "Yea, and she wants him!"

Luhan furrowed his eyebrows, "Come again?"

"She wants to date him Lu ge!" Tao said, throwing his hands in the air, "She's like, ooh sweaty you can step down now, I'll take care of my Yifan. UGH I just want to strangle her!" Tao snarled.

Luhan snorted. No matter how angry Tao was, he always ended up looking like a fluffy kitten. Maybe that's why Yifan was so whipped for the shapeshifter. If Tao batted those pretty eyelashes enough, Yifan would happily run through a field of garlic, silver and mirrors just to get him whatever he wanted. Tao sighed as he picked up the normal skinny jeans, pulling them up his long thin legs, "At least I'm going on a date with him tonight, should I tell him what she said? Nah, he'll just think I'm jealous."

Luhan smacked his forehead, "You are jealous you ."

Tao stuck out his tongue and was about to retort when his phone rang. He picked it up, after quickly checking the caller I.D.

"Hey y!"

"I have some bad news Kitten."

Tao frowned, "What bad news Yifan?"

"I have to call off our date tonight."

Tao's mouth dropped open, "W-wait why?!" He caught his reflection in the mirror. Tao was all ready to go. He had done his hair and makeup to perfection, trying to look a bit nicer than usual for Yifan.

"I got a call from Suyin. She really wanted to hang out tonight and wouldn't take no for an answer. I finally just gave up. I see you all the time anyway and I haven't seen Suyin in years so that's fair, no?"

Tao sighed, his bottom lip quivering. Luhan had torn his eyes off his phone screen and was looking at Tao quizzically, "No its fine Yifan, I understand."

"Thanks kitten! You are literally the best, I love you."

"Love you too babe."

With that, Tao hung up.

Suyin 10. Tao 1. 

 

Yifan blew Tao off twice more that week before Tao decided he had more than enough. So he decided to make Yifan pay for it. He replaced his normal metal earrings with silver ones, along with decking out with silver rings, brackets and a necklace that was pure silver. He also put in his silver lip ring (which he didn't wear that often but it drove Yifan crazy every time he did.)

And that's how Yifan ended up standing five feet away from his boyfriend, looking completely exasperated, "Kitten...come on."

Tao blinked as he thumbed his silver bracelet innocently, "What? Is there something wrong, Yifannie?" Tao purred.

Yifan looked so pained as he tried to take a step closer, only to flinch at the amount of silver Tao was wearing, "Tao...are you mad?"

Tao scoffed, "Now why would I be mad?"

"Wait is this something I answer or is this something that you already know the answer too and you're about to whoop my a-"

"JUST ANSWER ." Tao snapped, "Before I throw my silver ring at you."

Yifan sniffed, scratching his head. Tao rolled eyes. His boyfriend may look like he stepped right off an runway but god damn was he painfully stupid at times.

"Because I blew you off?" Yifan said meekly.

Tao blinked.

"Because I blew you off three times in a row?"

Tao blinked again.

"Because I blew you off three times in a row for Suyin."

Tao smiled sarcastically, "Wow congrats babe. You got it right."

Yifan sighed, "Tao....she's just a friend I promise! I'm sorry that I blew you off but I haven't seen her in so lo- wait a second." Yifan stopped mid sentence, taking in Tao's angry red face, "Wait, are you jealous?"

Tao's eyes widened as he was quick to refuse, "What no! I'm not- psshh where did you get that idea? Jealous...HAH I'm
Not jealous."

Yifan gasped, "You are jealous!" He couldn't help but laugh at his adorable (fuming) boyfriend.

Tao mewled in embarrassment as he stood in the middle of his room, his face slowly turning red. 

Yifan finally stopped laughing, "Why are you jealous? You know I love you."

Tao gave up, "Because you're so god damn attractive!"

"uh..thanks?"

"And because Suyin wants you! After you went to the bathroom the first time we met, she told me to basically get lost because you were her's."

"She did whaT?!"

"Yea! And then you spend the next two days with her! How was I not supposed to be jealous?"

Yifan frowned, stepping closer but backing away again because of the silver, "Oh kitten, she means nothing to me, I swear. I have to tell you something too. Suyin made a pass on m-"

"WHAT!? IM GONNA KILL THAT MANGY LITTLE CAT-"

"Tao listen!"

Tao shut up and turned towards Yifan.

"Thank you. Anyway, I told her to get lost because I only love you. And I only see you."

Tao felt his heart melt a bit.  Yifan grinned and held his arms out, "Now come give me a hug."

Tao raced forward only to have Yifan sidestep in the last second, "You have to take the silver off first."

"Oh..right."

Tao stripped himself of all things silver and threw it in the trashcan that sat by his desk. Before he could even turn around, Yifan had already wrapped his arms around him, giving him a tight backhug. Tao purred with delight as Yifan peppered his neck with kisses, occasionally grazing the latter's tan skin with his sharp vampire fangs.
