On the next Saturday that Noa had completely free, she decided to make the most of it, planning out a day trip to Berkeley. There was a store on Fourth Street that was having a big sale, and she wanted to be a part of it; she was the only one of her friends that was free that morning, but it didn’t matter – she could be in and out quickly, and on her way back to San Francisco before public transportation got too busy.   That morning Noa got up a little early, pulling on her most comfortable jeans and a fitted hoodie, and keeping her hair in the two large flat twists that she had put it in the night before. With her necessities in tow she left her dorm and the Second House and began her trip to Berkeley, focusing on the sun shining on her face as opposed to the cool wind blowing past her as she headed up AIASF’s main street, crossing over the bridge that connected the graduate housing to the rest of the campus and eventually leaving the campus altogether. She caught the light rail just outside of AIASF’s limits and it took her into SOMA with plenty of time to get down into the Embarcadero BART station and load her card. She finished with her card and ventured deeper into the station, heading over to her platform; as she drew nearer to it, the sight of a person standing there, half a head taller than most of the other passengers and sporting a black leather jacket on his lean frame, made her slow her walk – she leaned forward a little, narrowing her eyes.   “Seriously?” As if he’d heard her he turned; their eyes met and he immediately rolled his eyes, shaking his head. His reaction sparked her stubbornness; she kissed her teeth and moved to stand a small distance away from the edge of the platform, sticking her hands in the pockets of her hoodie as she stared down into the dark tunnel.   “So that’s what we’re doing now?” Suddenly he was beside her; Noa looked up and directly into his eyes, smirking.   “You just couldn’t help yourself, huh?” she questioned placing her hands on her hips. “You just had to come over here and say something to me.”   “I can’t ignore it when people are rude to me.” Noa’s eyes widened with incredulity.   “Who was rude to you?”   “You,” Hikaru shot back, turning to look ahead of him. “You could’ve said something.”   “That would’ve led us into having a conversation, like the one we’re having now,” Noa stated. “Why would I want that?” Hikaru kissed his teeth, shaking his head. “Besides, you’re the one who rolled your eyes at me!”   “That’s not the point.” Before their conversation could continue the train arrived, drowning out all sound for a few moments as it pulled into the station.
