"Hello?" Seokjin answers groggily. It is 12.30 a.m. and he has just fallen asleep. The talk with Joy, and Irene's dismissal behaviour made him exhausted yet sleepless. Gradually the thoughts stopped bothering him and he slept for some few minutes.

"Hello? Mr. Kim? I am Dr. Tan..."

Seokjin sits up and looks at the sleeping figure of Irene beside him. Dr. Tan is Irene's psychiatrist who has been treating her for her depression ever before her pregnancy.

"Hello? Mr. Kim? You still there? I am sorry to disturb at such an odd timing..."

"Yes? Oh no! It is all right. Please tell me..." He gets up from the bed slowly and silently and sits on the armchair infront of the fireplace.

"It was important so I could not wait. I wanted to ask you about Mrs. Irene's temperament. I mean  how is she behaving? Her eating and sleeping habits, her work and everything, very recently? I mean for the last few weeks?" 

Seokjin frowns a bit. He is quite confused with this call, "Ummm...I was out of country for a week. I just came back yesterday. But before I left last week, she seemed fine and the same yesterday and today as well. Why...why such question?" He glances at their bed. 

"Well, Mr. Seokjin, I am asking this because..." He pauses for a moment, "...because she has missed 3 consecutive appointments with me." She has to meet him once a week.

Seokjin's eyes widens. He quickly leaves and enters the studyroom, "But...but How is this possible?! I, myself always drop her at the hospital and then pick her up!!! Only this week, due to my trip, I couldn't!! But I asked her about it and she told me she went!!! How is this even possible?!" He cannot believe this!! Why will Irene do this?! Why is she lying?!

"That is a matter of confusion as she never reaches my office. My secretary has not seen her on those days." Dr. Tan informs.

Seokjin does not understand what to think and feel.

"Mr. Kim, I wanted to call you in the daytime. When she missed her first appointment, I thought she had some work. At the time of the 2nd one, I thought she would re-schedule. I had a conference so it had slipped my mind that she did not come the week before as well. But then for the appointment last week, I asked my secretary who informed that it was her 3rd missed appointment. And she never re-scheduled for any of them!!

 I wasn't sure when you would not be busy. I chose this time as I figured Mrs. Irene would be asleep due to her pills. If only she is taking them properly...Oh! That reminds me, can you please check her meds now?" He asks with a hint of realization in his tone.

Seokjin, who is too baffled with everything, follows his request and walks back to their bedroom. He softly takes her medicine box and hesitates a bit. It feels like invasion of privacy but it has to be done. He opens it...
"Yes, Mr. Kim. What happened?"

"Doctor....She...She is not taking her meds. I mean...except for her sleeping pills that you prescribed..." He looks at his wife in disbelief. Her medicines are bought in such amount that it will go for a month. There are seven medicines missing from each type. That makes 21 of every type left in the box. There is only 3 sleeping pills left indicating that it is the only thing she is consuming regularly.

"What...??? Mr. Kim, can we meet before talking to Mrs. Irene?" The doctor sounds very tensed.

"Yes..." Seokjin whispers in agreement.

"Ahjusshi!!! Deiji!!!" Namjoon yells and looks around in panic.Where is she?!

He reaches the top of the mountain frantically. He spots a very familiar figure standing with 'their' back facing him. He rushes towards that person but it is too late.He can hear a splash. He can hear Park Sooyoung's loud shriek, and Aera's cries and pleas.He feels as if his whole body has turned into stone. He watches as the panda onesie sinks in the water....

"DEIJIIII!!!!" Namjoon sits up breathless. The pillow and bed sheet is drenched in sweat. He stumbles out of his door and runs downstairs. He knocks a vase on the way but he does not bother. He halts infront of Joy's room and begins to knock like a crazy person.

"OPEN THE DOOR!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! OPEN IT!!!" He slams on the door. The sound gets the baby up. She is crying now.

It opens quickly with a scared and tossled Joy looking at him in shock. He pushes her away from the way and runs towards the disturbed baby. He quickly picks her up and begins to check her for injury.

"DEIJI!! ARE YOU OKAY?! ARE YOU SCARED?! NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!!" He hugs his daughter tightly to his chest and feels her tiny heartbeat.

Joy just stands there. She cannot think or figure out what just happened and what is wrong with Namjoon. She got to bed quite late as she revealed what she and her oppa had talked in the evening. They shared the dessert. He listened to her and then they went to their respective rooms.

"What is all this chaos about?! What is hap...." Noel appears and stops her words.  Joy looks like she was sleeping and just woke up due to the noise. Namjoon is standing near the cot and hugging Deiji as if his life depends on it. The baby was crying but now whimpering a bit in his arms. He is sweating profusely and shaking. 

He notices the ladies for the first time, " Look!! She is fine!! Nothing happened to her!! She is fine!! I will not let anyone harm her!! She will be all right!! She will be..." He bursts into tears and hugs her again.

They do not understand what to do. Joy takes a step towards him and raises her hand. Namjoon opens his eyes to the soft touch on his wet cheek and stares at her. 

Tears drop from her eyes as well. She has never seen him so helpless and frightened. It hurts her so much. She slowly gathers him in her arms. He does not resist and lowers his head on her shoulder. Deiji is sandwiched between her parents but she feels warm, secured and happy. 

Noel decides not to disturb them. She wipes her tears and slowly closes the door without them knowing. She would ask what had happened tomorrow. Whatever happened, it has shaken Namjoon to the core. She is very worried for him and sad to find him crying like that. But it brought them closer. Which they are aiming for. Namjoon needs Joy now...She walks to her room and finds Aera sleeping. Luckily, she is a deep sleeper and has slept in this room. Or else she would have been scared. 

"Namjoon...?" Joy calls him softly. 

He has stopped crying now but still holding on to Deiji. The baby is searching her father's face with her tiny hands and cooing.

"Yeah...?" His voice is hoarse due to all the crying.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asks cautiously.

He snaps his head towards her.  Realization dawns on him. He is too embarrassed. 

"I am so sorry to scare you like this!!! God!! What was I thinking?! I must have disturbed Aunty and Aera as well..." He rubs his face. He does not want them to see him so vulnerable.

"Namjoon...it is completely okay..." She assures him.

He turns his head towards her and find genuineness.

"I...I had a nightmare..." He confesses softly.

"Oh..." She looks at Deiji, "Was it...was it about her?"

"Yes..." He kisses her bald head and inhales her scent.

Joy shakes her head slightly. Any more evidence to prove his love for his daughter?! 

"What did...what did you see?" She asks quietly.

He closes his eyes tightly and tries to regulate his breathing again. He does not want to recall it. 

Joy quickly rubs his back, "You may not want to share. I totally get it but I think sharing will help you to reduce the tension and worries...You can tell me as much as you want to tell."

"I saw her...I saw her fell of the hill..." He does not tell all the details. His voice is quivering. It was so lucid...

Joy gulps. That is enough to be hyper...

"..." She does not what to say.

"Oh God!! Why am I being like this?! I am so sorry..." He raises Deiji to his face and nuzzles her nose. She smiles happily at him.

"It was only me and Noel aunty...there is nothing to be sorry." Joy puts her hand on his shoulder.

"Still..." He runs his hand in his hair.

"Listen...you were scared, you had a nightmare. I would have been if I were in your place. It is okay to be scared...it is natural. It is humane..."

"I disturbed you all..." Namjoon laughs awkwardly, "I should be going..." He gets up reluctantly and passes Deiji to her.

"Ummm...you can stay back here." Joy offers. He is not shivering anymore and is breathing normally. But she knows he is still thinking about the nightmare.

"Are you sure?"

"Hmmm...Having Deiji around will calm your nerves and going all the way upstairs may not help you to sleep." She begins to swing the baby to sleep.

"All right then..." He sighs and lies on the bed.

After feeding and changing Deiji, Joy joins him, "You haven't slept yet?"

Namjoon takes the drowsy baby from her hands and places her on his torso. She snuggles on him and he relaxes, "No, couldn't..."

"Shall I get you some tea?" She looks at the clock. 2.47 a.m. Thank Goodness, They do not have any school or office that day.

"No, thank you...I do not feel like it." He softly pats on Deiji's back and she yawns.

Joy can feel that he is still upset. She tries to divert his attention, "One of our professor is going to have a baby. She announced it and treated us with lunch. It has been 12 years. She and her husband are so happy!! He also teaches at our university. Professor of mechanical engineering.   

"That is really nice. Is she the one who got you that table to use on bed? " He asks absent-mindedly.

"Yep!! Since it was a surprise we could not get her anything!! I should get her some home-made ice tea! Cuz getting something baby related  She was telling she cannot eat much so something to drink will be better! Also it is summer!!" She is pleased with her idea, "I should go and buy a nice bottle for that!! Worth gifting!! Hey!! You remember that shop beside the chemist shop where they sell different types of crockeries and stuff? I should go there..." She decides and turns to look at Namjoon. She is pleased that he is not much effected by the nightmare. He is looking at her, amused.

"Which chemist shop?" he asks a bit confused.

"That shop! From where we bought those  those pregnancy kits??"  

"Oh, yeah..." Namjoon can recall now...

They had a splendid time at Park jimin's wedding. But as always the leissure had to come to an end. So back to the reality. They got all busy with their daily lives and all was going good, except...

"Come in..." Namjoon knows from the knocking that it is Joy.

She enters and puts his coffee on the table, "How was your day?"

"Good." He shrugs off the coat and turns around to see her lost in thoughts, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah? Oh. Yes. I am..."

She does not sound okay though.

"What is it?" Namjoon frowns a bit and sits on the couch.

Joy thinks for a moment and fidgets with her hand in nervousness. She is scared about his reaction but it should be shared with him. "Come on now!! What's making you so unnerved?" Namjoon asks again. It must be serious.

"You...you wouldn't get angry, please...." She looks at him, " Besides it is not my fault only."

"Uh-huh..." Namjoon tilts his head.

"I think...I might be pregnant again..." She sighs.

"What?!" He blinks,"Are you sure?"

"No. I am not sure."

"Then?"

"I missed my menstruation this month and felt dizzy few times. My periods can be late. So I am not sure..." She shakes her head slightly.

"You need to test! We have to be sure..." He nods to himself.

Joy's heart flutters at the word "we". 

"I should get myself tested at first. I am gonna buy some pregnancy kit and then consult the doctor. Depending on the result. It occured to me today. So I am gonna go now. I will inform you about the result." It is astounding how less panicked she feels than the first time.

"Wait! Let me come with you. Have you said anything to anyone?" He grabs his keys.

"Ummm...no." She is quite taken aback with his reaction. He is not angry but worried.

"Good. Scaring them will not do any good. Besides, it can be false alarm as well..."

They get downstairs and informs Noel that they are going out. The older lady assures them to not worry about the children.

Joy asks him not to stop at Cheonsa for the kit but go to some other shop. Cheonsa would have understood.

"Ummm...was it the inauguration morning?" He asks awkwardly.

She took a second to understand what he was saying, "Obviously."  She replies.

Namjoon just nods and stops at the nearest mall. They find the shop and buys three different brands.

"Gonna test it here. Taking these home will be unnecessary."

Namjoon agrees, "Yeah, then we can see the doctor."

Joy quickly finishes the slushie and gets a brain freeze.

"Oh! Be careful and relax!!" He shakes his head in annoyance.

"Sorry."

They sit for a while when Joy says she is ready to use the bathroom. They walk to the loo. She takes the kits inside and he waits for her outside.

He checks the watch few times and tries to calculate when she will be out. He is thinking about Aera and Deiji. Aera is so young and his ahjusshi has just turned 100 days old. Noel is aging and Joy is still studying. Not to forget how busy he is!! Now another....he sighs.

Joy gets out of the loo. He raises his eye-brows in question.

She shakes her head, "Negative. All of them." She sounds casual but there is a sense of relief in her tone. 

"All right then. Let's go home!!"

"Thank goodness!! No offence but can you imagine what would have happened if it were positive?! Still you should talk to the doctor if you feel sick... " He opens the door of the car.

Joy nods understandingly, "Yeah, with all the studies and two girls...it would have been too difficult."

"I am sorry. It was my fault. It had been too long since we...I was not prepared." He pursed his lips and glances at her.

Joy blushes at the indication.

" I have learned my lesson!! I'll be careful next time..." He nods once.

Her eyes widens that the remark and she gasps.

"What?" He asks at if nothing happened.

She shakes her head and looks down to hide her red face.

They did not have to consult the doctor as after 2 days Joy gets her period. The reason must have been stress for the delay.

"That was a bit scary!! No?" She laughs and looks at him. 

He is sleeping soundly with Deiji on his chest. She smiles lovingly and kisses their heads.

"Good night my loves..." She lies down and prepares to join them in slumberland.
