Sunlight and soft drapes.

The sound of the ocean.

Where is he?

A rustle and sigh so soft next to him.

He pulls her closer.

Her scent. Her smooth skin,

So intoxicating.
 

A kiss and a sigh

She snuggles closer, eyes still closed.

Half-dreaming.

Should he wake her?

He wants to wake her; but she is sleeping so sweetly

A Sleeping Beauty

Had he tired her out?

He wants more time,

He wants to see the sun on her lips

Watch the breeze in her hair

Feel her hands holding his

He wants to build memories

He needs those memories

He is going to war

No, not war; it won't come to that

But he is going away, somewhere he can't see her

He is leaving

I don't want to think about leaving

Shall he make her breakfast?

He'll make her coffee too

She'll love his coffee, more than any other

Grind the beans, measure water

His recipe for a perfect brew

Add a sprinkle of kosher salt

And for food? 

His special ramen?

No, the first breakfast he makes for her will not be ramen

Toast, then?

Toasters are impossible

But he'll master this

He can make toast

Easy, see

Oh...

Burnt the toast

Is she laughing at him? 

She is, with her beautiful smile

Glowing at him

Hair tousled, dressed only in his shirt

His s*xy girl,

Come here, Naughty girl.

Stop laughing

I have you now in my arms

She is still laughing

....
