Min Yoongi's POV

It was a peaceful evening in the studio as I worked on my track until Hoseok barged in.

"Hyung! Tae has done his script reading! Let's go and celebrate!"

"Let me finish this first." I said, not looking at him. It was almost done. All I have to do is to touch up a little.

"No hyung! They are waiting for us downstairs!"

"Taehyung is here already?"

"Of course! Everyone was waiting for you!"

"Where are we going?"

"The barbeque place that we often go around the corner."

"Then ask them to go first. I will walk there later."

"We are walking together!" He said as he pulled my arm trying to drag me along with him.

"Alright..alright.. Let me off my computer first."

I saw the five of them once me and Hoseok stepped out of the company's building. They were waiting beside the company's van.

"Hyung..why did you take such a long time to bring Suga hyung down? We are starving!" Jungkook said to Hoseok when we walked towards them.

"Blame him! He's so slow!" Hoseok pointed at me.

"Ugh. Let's go.." I said as I walked past them with hands tucked in my pockets.

"This hyung is always acting cool even though he is in the wrong" Hoseok grumbled.

"I can hear you!" I shouted.

"I purposely said loudly so that you can hear!" He shouted back from behind me. I knew he was grinning even without turning back.

"This brat.." I muttered as I smiled to myself. The others were chuckling behind me.

As I walked past a cafe, I saw a family of three sitting by the window. A middle-aged man was sitting opposite two young teenagers, a boy and a girl. Both of them seemed like highschoolers. In front of them was a birthday cake with candles lit. They were singing happily together. It seemed like it was the young boy's birthday. Where was their mother though? Or perhaps they are not siblings? I wondered. Somehow, that scene was so familiar that it hurts..

Flashback

"Ugh.. why does dad want me to buy so many stuffs.." I grumbled while huffing as I carried the bags of groceries. When I reached my house, it was dark. "Did dad went out? It can't be.. he didn't say anything before he left." I muttered to myself. When I reached the doorsteps, I saw dad's shoes at the footsteps.. "Dad's home? Is he sleeping? What the hell.. he sleeps while I went to shop for groceries?! He should have at least send me there!" I complained.

The house was in total darkness when I entered my house. I sighed. I went towards the switch to on the lights. Before I can reach for the switch..

"Happy Birthday to you"

I turned towards the source of the voices.

"Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to our dearest Yoongi,

Happy Birthday to you"

Both my dad and Yoomi were singing together. I switched on the lights. She was holding the cake with a bright smile.My dad was smiling fondly.

"Make a wish and blow the candles!" She said excitedly.

I stared at the cake. It was so foreigned to me. The last time I had seen a birthday cake for me was many years ago and it was not a pleasant memory. I grimaced.

"Why are you staring at the cake as though you are enemy with it? Go on. Make a wish!" She prompted me.

"Yoongi.. she made the cake for you.." My dad looked at me with an apologetic expression.

"Dad.. why didn't you tell her? You know that-"

"You dummy! Uncle Min told me but I didn't listen.. Quick! The candles are melting!"

"I'm not blowing the candles.." I huffed.

She rolled her eyes. "Why are you so grumpy?"

"My dad has already told you that I don't celebrate my birthday, so why are you still doing this?!" I half-yelled at her.

"Yoongi.." My dad warned.

Hurt flashed across her expression and I instantly regretted what I said.

"I know that you don't want to celebrate because it will trigger the memories that you don't want to remember. That's why I want to create new memories with you..replace all the bad memories with the good ones, so that you will remember this pleasant memory instead the next time when you see a birthday cake. If you are still so stubborn, fine. I will blow-"

I blowed all the candles before she can complete her sentence. "Not a chance."

"Hey! You haven't make a wish!" She pouted.

"I already made while you are lecturing me" I smirked at her.

My dad was standing at the sidelines, smiling at our banter. "Let's have dinner. I'm hungry from all the commotion."

"Dad! you only know how to eat!" I complained as we went to the dining table.

"Tada! Home cooked meal!" She grinned.

In front of me was a spread of 5 dishes and all were my favourites..
