“Do you expect me to pity you both and give my blessings for you?” Bingbing said in a calm but angered tone. “No, I don’t pity you and I won’t give my blessings. Why? You both committed a murder.”

Bingbing slowly walked up to Jiaojing and Yifan staring at them in the eye. She continued speaking, “You killed Hana and tried to pin the murder on me…yet you expect me to be forgiving for the great love you have for each other. Fine, we can think of it like that.”

Bingbing walked back to the bag she held, taking out the box that was supposed to be Jiaojing’s birthday gift.

“As I stated before, I won’t pity you and I won’t give you my blessing but…” Bingbing said as she held the box in front of her, holding it out for Jiaojing. “I can give you this…my birthday present to you which you claim you never got from me.”

Jiaojing and Yifan were shocked and didn’t move to accept the present. Everyone there wondered why the two seem scared to accept the gift. It looked ordinary but upon closer inspection there appears to be a small dark red blemish on the side of the box. When Jiaojing made a move to reach out to take the box, Bingbing pulled it away.

“I’ll save you the trouble of opening it by opening it myself,” Bingbing said as she held the box. “Because I forgot that you both are murderers and I can’t have you tampering the evidence.”

As Bingbing slowly open the box, Yixing noticed the expression on Jiaojing and Yifan. While Yifan looks calm but worried, Jiaojing seems to look…angry. Yixing could tell from the way Jiaojing’s other hand is tightly clenched. Just as Bingbing reached in to take the gift out, Jiaojing quickly slapped the box away from Bingbing. The box along with the present inside fell to the ground, the present is a hairpin with begonias.

Bingbing went to pick up the hairpin and after dusting it off, offered it to Jiaojing. Seeing Jiaojing made no move to accept it, Bingbing decided to place it in her hair. Only for Yifan to stop her from placing it in Jiaojing’s hair.

Noticing how her daughter and Yifan is acting, Mrs. Lan couldn’t help but speak out, “Jiaojing, what’s wrong? Why did you do that to Bingbing’s gift?”

Jiaojing and Yifan didn’t answer, they just stared at Bingbing who stared at them in return.

“Do you want to know why I chose this particular hairpin to give you?” Bingbing asked as she dangled the hairpin in her hands. “Begonias have some interesting symbolism, the one that caught my attention is this one: Dark and unpleasant thoughts that distract you from your happiness and joy. Those words suit the situation you're in right now.”

Jiaojing had her eyes on the hairpin as Bingbing dangled it, she realized that it didn’t belong to her. Meaning…she stepped into Bingbing’s trap without realizing it.

“Did you plan this out?” Jiaojing asked. “So Yifan and I can reveal ourselves.”

“Part of it,” Bingbing said. “I didn’t expect the present to be slapped out of my hands. Since you did that, it shows how guilty you are.”

“You said that the two of us are guilty,” Yifan angrily said as he held Jiaojing close to him. “Where is your evidence then?”

“It’s in this bag,” Yixing said as he held the bag up for everyone to see. “Which we found in the laundry room around the servants’ rooms, the ONLY area we didn’t investigate.”

“Why would you need to check there?” Yifan ask suspiciously. “Didn’t you tell us the murder occur on this floor only?”

“I told them to go there. It was the only area where the murderer would have gone.” Luhan said.

“There was also a theory I had about the murderer,” Bingbing said, staring at Yifan and Jiaojing. “I believe the MURDERERS never left after Hana died but in the laundry room, we found the bag…and an open window.”

Bingbing couldn’t believe her eyes with the many secrets her family have hidden from her. She is surprised by how much effort Hana put into gathering all of this for her. To repay Hana for all she did, Bingbing decided she will put these information to good use by clearing Hana’s murder.

“Hey, do you both feel a bit of breeze from somewhere?” Yixing asked as he rubbed his arms to get some warmth into them.

“Now that you mention it,” Bingbing said as she walked towards to open the door. “I thought I felt a breeze when we first got down here.”

“I felt the same thing too,” Junmyeon said. “I think it’s from that room.”

The three got out of Hana’s room to go inside the Laundry room where the breeze seems to be coming from. Fearing for Bingbing’s safety, Junmyeon volunteered to open the door while Yixing guard Bingbing. Once the door was opened, they head to the window where the breeze is coming from which Bingbing decided to close. From the corner of her eyes, Bingbing caught a glimpse of a bag lying a few feet away from the window.

“Is there something wrong?” Junmyeon asked, noticing Bingbing’s expression.

“This bag,” Bingbing said as she examined the mysterious bag before peering inside for the contents. “I think it belongs to Jiaojing. What is it doing here? If she needed her laundry to be done, she should have…”

Concerned by the way Bingbing turned pale, Yixing and Junmyeon were about to ask her until their eyes land on what Bingbing is staring at. Luckily, Bingbing still have her gloves on otherwise she might have ruined this valuable evidence. A pink dress with a dark red spot, like blood, decorated the front of the dress. Another evidence is a box with a little smudge of blood on the side.

“This is the gift I asked Hana to give to Jiaojing.” Bingbing said as held the box before opening it. “Why did she told me that she never saw it when it’s…here?”

“Is that…” Junmyeon trailed off, speechless by what they discovered.

“It looks like we found one of the real murder weapon.” Yixing said as he stared at the hairpin in the box.

There were two hairpins in the box, one was Bingbing’s gift to Jiaojing while the other…is the murder weapon used in Hana’s death. The evidence for it being a murder weapon is the tip that is stained with dried blood.

Seeing Jiaojing and Yifan freeze up and turn pale, Bingbing couldn’t help but smile. Her smile looked as if she is enjoying the pain she put her sister and fiancé through. Luhan got a phone call he needed to take so he left it up to Yixing to handle for a bit.

“You can’t prove anything with that.” Yifan said confidently. “Our fingerprints aren’t on it.”

“They never said anything about finding fingerprints.” Sehun pointed out.

Luhan came back immediately and announced what the phone call is about. “They found something in Hana’s pockets. I asked them to send me an image of it.”

Luhan showed the image sent from his phone. The new evidence is that same photo of Bingbing with Jongin except it looks cut up.

“Bingbing!” Mrs. Lan exclaimed shockingly. “How can you do that to Yifan?”

Jongin tired of being accused of Bingbing’s lover stood up for her. “Are you people blind? Does it look like we are kissing? It’s called ‘Pepero Game’, the point of the game is not to kiss but to leave a bit of Pepero…”

Bingbing tuned out the sounds of Jongin arguing with Mrs. Lan as she stared at the photo. All everyone could see is what the photo is about but Bingbing saw something different. From the way Bingbing’s face looked, Yixing could tell that she already figured out how the murder happen. The question is: How is the photo of Bingbing and Jongin related to the murder?

“I just realized something,” Bingbing spoke up as she turned to look at Yifan. “All the times you spent with Jiaojing and she never showed you how Jongin looked. It must mean…you purposely planted the other photo in Hana’s hand but surprisingly Hana had the same one in her pockets.”

Jiaojing had a look of panic as Yifan looked at her, understanding what Bingbing is pointing out. Yifan remembered going to get a pair of gloves to move Hana’s body which left Jiaojing enough time to put the photo in Hana’s hand while he was gone. Why? That word echoed in Yifan’s head, he wanted to know why did Jiaojing did something without consulting him just like that time when she aborted their child.

The two lovers seem to be communicating with one another through their eyes from Bingbing’s observation. She didn’t care about that, Bingbing decided to reveal something else about the photo Hana cut up.

“Jiaojing, you must have bad intentions when you choose this photo,” Bingbing said as she stared at the photo in Luhan’s phone. “But Hana didn’t, she must have chosen randomly and did something very clever with it. Would you like to see what I mean?”

Jiaojing and Yifan looked at Bingbing as she held the phone for them to see the photo. Yifan felt disgusted looking at the photo a second time while Jiaojing is delighted (in her head) that this made Yifan hated Bingbing more. Seeing that they weren’t looking at it closely, Bingbing asked Yixing for a piece of paper and marker. Yixing wasn’t sure why Bingbing needed this but he listened to her as she explained to him what to write. When he finished writing, she told him to hold it up next to her and the phone.

“Since you both seem to be very blind, I have Yixing write what the secret message is in this photo.” Bingbing said as she pointed to the paper in Yixing’s hands.

With the photo from the phone and the paper Yixing is holding, everyone looked closely to see what it was Bingbing saw. They still couldn’t understand what it was Bingbing saw, the photo is kind of distracting everyone from figuring it out.

“Oh!” Luhan exclaimed, seeing what Bingbing saw in the photo. “Hana actually cut it like that to spell their names.”

“What names?” Mr. Lan asked.

Luhan stand next to Yixing, using the paper in his hands as a demonstration. “If you look closely at the photo, the first letter is ‘Jiao’ and the second letter is ‘Fan’. But from the way Hana cut it, it looked hard to read because it’s put together.”

“Which means if it’s put apart a bit,” Bingbing finished. “You will see the photo spelling out the names.”

Jiaojing collapsed to the ground as Yifan held onto her. She let out a sob as he comforted her, both realizing that no matter how many times they deny their hands in Hana’s death, there are enough evidences linking them to the murder. At that moment, Yixing turned to look at Bingbing, he noticed she had a calm face staring at the two lovers. There seems to be a trace of sadness in her eyes but in her heart, she can’t forgive them.

Bingbing decided to cut all ties with the Lan family when she learned of the plans her ‘parents’ have for her. Yixing believed Jiaojing and Yifan hoped Bingbing would lessen their sentence by telling her what Mr. and Mrs. Lan had in store for her. It isn’t enough to erase the fact that they murdered Hana to hide their secrets from her but also accused her of having an affair.

It was a happy family moment when Junmyeon revealed the truth to his brothers about Bingbing. Jongin, especially, was very happy but also embarrassed since he almost shared a kiss with his niece, “I can’t believe I almost took my niece’s first kiss.” With Bingbing living with her father and her uncles, it started a little war where all of them want to fight for her attention. Even Luhan joked that he doesn’t get to spend much time with her since her uncles are hogging her. Also, Zitao, who resorted to puppy dog eyes to get Bingbing’s attention.

Yixing was surprised when Chanyeol wished him luck with Bingbing.

“I know she won’t return my feelings if I confess to her.” Chanyeol said as he stared at his cup of bubble tea. “After what happen with Yifan, I don’t think she’s ready. So…I’m fine with whoever she chooses”

“You mean you don’t like her anymore?”

“I do still like her but…I think it’s better for me to be happy for her. I don’t want to force her to choose me.”

Yixing wasn’t sure about confessing to Bingbing. He believes he likes her but seeing what Yifan did to her, it might leave some scars for Bingbing. It’s only been a few weeks since the murder at the mansion. He wants to give her time until she felt like accepting his feelings. The only issue he has is her overprotective uncles who are more protective of her than her father.

It’s funny that he told Bingbing how he feels about her only to fall asleep after all that confessing. Bingbing must think he’s a weirdo. But he felt a kiss on his cheek as he was sleeping and he also heard Bingbing's answer to him.

“I’ll wait for you, my sleepy detective.”

I decided to have a 5th chapter because I wanted the 4th chapter to be only from Hana's POV. Just in case anyone is wondering, I want Chanyeol and Baekhyun to have a bromance. I'm not pairing them up together but I find their friendship cute so I wanted to portray that in here.

To be honest, the evidence Hana had in her pockets was inspired by a scene from a drama called 'Young Justice Bao 3'. In one episode, a man left a clue towards his killer by ripping a letter that spells out a character of the killer's name. How it works is that when they first put the letter together they didn't notice the message until Judge Bao figure that seperating the rip pieces a bit will reveal the letter that is spelled out. 

There was a picture I wanted to use for the profile of Yifan and Jiaojing but it would spoil their purpose in the story so I didn't use it but I will include it here. I wonder did anyone figure out their relationship before I revealed it?
