Ring! Ring!

“Damn that stupid alarm clock," Jaemin muttered under her breath as she got up from bed, half-mumbling to herself. "What day is it anyway? Why did I set the alarm so early?”

15, 16, 17 ...

Her eyes widened.

That's it! It's 17 February!

Her heart started beating really fast and her palms became clammy, like they always did when she was nervous. Jaemin ran downstairs, silently slapping herself for not remembering the occasion.

Yoseob is coming back from his overseas studies today!

[Jaemin's POV]

“Aigoo! My feet hurts,” I cried, wiping my tears on my skirt. Soyee watched me in pain, upset that she couldn't do anything to help.

He lifted my foot, examining my swollen ankle carefully. 

“Yong Jaemin, I told you a hundred times not to run around barefooted!" He scolded. "See what happens now?”

“I'm ... I'm sorry ...”

What happened next took me by surprise.

He lifted me up onto his shoulders, and started walking.

“Oppa! Put me down!” I struggled in vain, hitting at him. “Why are you carrying me?”

I could sense him rolling his eyes. “Because you can't walk.”

“Y ... Yah! I can! Put me dowwwn!”

To put it simply, I was just shocked that he'd had the strength to carry me. After all, we were so young then.

He ignored me and continued on to my house. Once we reached, he lifted me off gently, brought me in and started bandaging my ankle.
