Hyoyeon had explained that the drugs that they currently had were simply regular, but still illegal ecstasy drugs. If she wanted answers and explanations for the strange effects she saw when that dealer consumed a whole handful of the mimics, she would need to find a finished version, aka a batch being sold directly on the streets. She hadn’t felt Black Witch’s present for a while, but it’s not like Taeyeon could just wait for her to get a lead. She would have to continue the investigation herself, so she was going to head back to down town to search for the finished products. Although that’s why she originally planned to travel to down town New York, she began to wonder if Tiffany was currently working at the diner. Sunny’s words were continuously replaying in Taeyeon’s mind, she had to make sure to redeem her trust with Tiffany and the only way to do that would be to start from the very bottom again. Although they weren’t strangers, they sure as hell weren’t lovers anymore, they might not even be able to consider each other friends. But without a doubt, a year and a half ago they had a bond stronger than Taeyeon had ever experienced before. All she needed to do was reignite that dormant flame.

Taeyeon returned to down town New York as Vermilion and quickly scanned through the littered streets. Although there weren’t any current criminal activity, she wouldn’t need to wait too long until something finally happened. She settled down atop a building just across from the diner, she summoned an orange telescope to aid her in searching for her past love. “Wow, I feel like such a stalker right now…” Taeyeon mumbled to herself.

“Ahh, there she is!” Taeyeon finally saw Tiffany again, it had been only a few days since she last saw the precious eye smiling princess, but to her, it felt like forever. There were few words to describe just how much Taeyeon truly missed and longed for that girl and it was unfair that fate had to be so cruel to their relationship. Of course, she never wanted to leave the girl behind and keep her in the dark about the truth of magic’s existence. However, she already lost her only “family” member Shinju, she couldn’t risk losing someone else close to her like that. Telling Tiffany back then would only endanger her from King, keeping her clueless to allow her to live a regular life was the best option Taeyeon had at the time to keep her safe. What Taeyeon didn’t realize though, was how badly it would affect Tiffany’s social well-being. She knew that the dark Tiffany would most likely return, but to shut herself from all her friends, even Yuri, was a complete shock to Taeyeon when she arrived back to New York. Taeyeon knew she had to take responsibility for Tiffany’s broken personality and she would no longer wait to do so. She quickly jumped down from the top of the building and reverted back to her casual clothes.

Once she entered the diner, Tiffany hadn’t noticed her entrance, but Hani was fully aware of whom had just walked through the door. Hani hastily approached Taeyeon and dragged her into a far booth at the corner of the diner, to prevent being spotted by Tiffany for just a few moments. “Yah! Why are you here? If you’re here to hurt Tiff, I’m going to kindly ask you to leave.” Hani said firmly.

“Hurt her? No, the complete opposite really. I… I want to fix things with her…” Taeyeon said awkwardly, she meant every word she said, but seeing as she didn’t know Hani personally, she felt uncomfortable conversing about such personal matters with her.

“You swear?”

“Yeah, I swear. Now if you please, could you ask Tiffany to come here?” Taeyeon asked nicely.

“Will you order something? I recommend the blueberry pie, it’s particularly good during the weekends.” Hani said with her customer service voice.

“Sure, I’ll have Tiffany take my order though…” Taeyeon said awkwardly again. Hani left the booth and approached Tiffany to inform her about her special visitor. “Hey Tiff, you have a special customer today.” Hani pointed towards Taeyeon’s direction. Once Tiffany turned to see Taeyeon’s classic, serene beauty, her heart truly skipped multiple beats. During their last encounter during karaoke night, it was particularly dark, so many of Taeyeon’s features were hidden by the shade of the night, but now, they were all completely on display for Tiffany's eyes to feast upon. It had been so long since Tiffany had admired Taeyeon’s beautiful face but she could say with complete certainty that the girl hadn’t aged at all. Her face was still as adorable as ever, her jawline still sharp as a blade, her perfect, pink lips still curved at the corners and her big brown orbs for eyes still sent shivers down Tiffany’s spine with each gaze. She already knew for a fact that she still missed Taeyeon uncontrollably for the past year and a half, but now seeing her face properly again, with the sun casting rays down upon her like an angel, almost overwhelmed Tiffany. She didn’t feel ready to return to Kim Taeyeon yet, she wasn’t worthy to earn back her perfect girlfriend. Tiffany was about to turn away until Hani firmly grabbed her arm and squeezed with surprising strength. “Yah! If you don’t go over there and talk to her, I’m not only going to fire you from the diner, but I’ll re hire you and force you to sing every day and night Tiffany Hwang! Get your over there.” Hani pushed Tiffany towards Taeyeon and crossed her arms with authority. There was no turning back now, all Tiffany could do was face Taeyeon and try her best not to just burst into a million pieces from her explosion of emotions.

“H…h… Hi, I’m Tiffany… I’ll be your server today… what would you like to order?” Tiffany stuttered. Taeyeon knew this was simply Tiffany doing her job as normal, but she decided to play along as if they had never met before. “Hi, Tiffany. I’m Taeyeon, I’ll have two servings of blueberry pie please.” Taeyeon said with her irresistible smile. Tiffany’s heart had almost melted at the sight of Taeyeon’s chin dimple. “Will that be all Tae… Tae…?” Tiffany said slowly.

“Yeah Fany, that’ll be all for today.” Although Taeyeon had acted pretty smooth during that conversation, her heart was beating just as fast as Tiffany’s. Both girls were extremely nervous right now, but once they looked passed their nerves, the feelings of familiarity were slowly leaking through the barricades that Tiffany had constructed to guard her emotions. “Even now, your charms still work on me. You must be some kind of witch Taeyeon.” Tiffany thought.

Tiffany returned with Taeyeon’s two pieces of blueberry pie and was about to leave the table until Taeyeon grabbed her wrist before she left. “Excuse me, but if you’re not busy, could you join me?” Taeyeon asked carefully. Tiffany looked around the diner, she couldn’t possibly say she was too busy to sit with Taeyeon as there were barely any customers in the diner at this time and Hani would probably kick her if she did.
