Note: This is one long One Shot but it's worth it. It's a bit funny and it doesn't have that much fluffy action.

At the age of ten Kihyun discovered that when he turns seventeen, he will get powers. These powers were no laughing matter because it may lead him to a certain doom. Not everyone can be lucky to have this great powers.

Getting these powers were like puberty with a catch. It is more known to be called animal spirit. A person was born to have this gene that contains an animal trait. They could be any kind of animal no matter how small. They can also gain their unique ability of strength, speed or even knowledge and many more. They also have the power to transform into their animal spirit.

Today was the day Kihyun will finally discover his animal spirit. He had been preparing for this day for seven years. He was currently in a camping ground with his family and friends. They were all huddled up near the warm cozy fire.

"Are you nervous?" Jooheon sat next to Kihyun who was staring at the fire in dazed. He was a bit worried seeing his friend who was about to finally discover his long a waited new self.

"Yeah, but I'm excited." Kihyun gave out a big grin with a mix of fear that Jooheon clearly saw. His expression gave away how nervous he was. Jooheon understood that feeling because he also had that same expression when he was about to get through with his transfiguration.

"What kind of animal spirit do want to be?" Jooheon tried to lighten up the mood seeing Kihyun was a bit tense. He also wanted to know as Kihyun's background is rather rare because his mother was a Hippo and his father was a Jaguar.

"Maybe a cheetah so I can finally beat Minhyuk." Kihyun gave out a smirk feeling Jooheon was bit confused. He could likely be a predator or not. He could turn into a unique breed of animal when he had that type of parents.

"Don't you mean Wonho?"Jooheon thought he heard it wrong because Wonho was faster than Minhyuk. Kihyun shaked his head knowing Jooheon didn't get his idea.

"I already know that I don't have a chance at beating a rabbit." Kihyun saw Wonho run and it was magnificent but he knows he can't compete with a rabbit. Rabbits happened to be very competitive so they have a specific running track that only rabbits can participate in. They tend to not accept defeat so it takes 10 types of competition for them to finally crown the winner.

"Well someone did beat him once." Jooheon then remembered that epic moment like it happened yesterday. Kihyun didn't get what he meant until it was to late for him stop himself from encouraging Jooheon's crazy idea.

"What are you talking ab..."

"Well in the race of love Hyungwon manage to win the trophy of Wonho's heart." He expected it to happen and it was so cheesy that he can't help but cringe. Jooheon was in his romance type of faze so Kihyun should have known it was coming for a mile away.

"Yah! My ear drums hurt." Kihyun tapped his earlobes a couple of time trying his best to act all irritated. It didn't last long because they both broke into a fit of laughter. When they calmed down Kihyun just gave out a small smile remembering that day.

"Well it is a common thing for a rabbit to fall in love with a turtle or a fox so I already knew it would happen sooner or later." Kihyun shrugged when he first saw Hyungwon won a race with Wonho and in the end Wonho fell in love with him after the race. It was rather epic seeing a rabbit lose with a huge grin on his face.

"But I just want to beat Minhyuk once." Kihyun went back to their original topic and Jooheon wasn't happy about it. He was curious why Kihyun was persistent on challenging Minhyuk.

"Well Minhyuk is a dog and he deserves to be in the track team when he has a lot of energy." Jooheon know why Minhyuk was a good candidate but there were other people in the track time Kihyun could challenge. He just doesn't like it when Kihyun wanted to go up against Minhyuk.

"That's one good reason to beat him but there are other reasons like how he loves to boast about his energy to everyone..." Kihyun then gave out a few complaints and reason why he wanted to challenge Minhyuk. Jooheon was getting irritated by Kihyun so he couldn't help but snap.

"Yah! don't talk about my Minkiiee like that." Jooheon was very pissed hearing his beloved being looked down upon. He loved Minhyuk ever since he met him and the day he realize they were meant for each other so they are still in their romance kind of stage.

"Sorry Jooheon." Kihyun knew he wanted to annoy Jooheon but he saw the hurt look on his face. He felt guilty seeing that he did that to Jooheon who only wanted to help him. He really felt bad but Jooheon gave him a warm smile understanding why it was happening to Kihyun.

"An elephant will be another good choice if you want." Jooheon just changed the topic feeling it was getting out of hand.

"So that I can be strong?"

"No but it will finally match the way you love food." Jooheon smirked because Kihyun had this priceless fake reaction. Jooheon just held his laugher knowing Kihyun was a bit annoyed with him.

"Yah! Jooheon are you calling me fat!"

"I'm just kidding but a giraffe will be better." They broke into another fit of laughter making Jooheon tumble over. Luckily, Kihyun grabbed him in time before he fell backwards. But then Jooheon stopped laughing because that idea of his was actually a good one.

"So you can finally achieve that height you always wanted." Kihyun should be offended by that comment but then again he can't deny that he was small and using that new power was just a great bonus.

"Well that wasn't a bad idea."

"The only thing I'm nervous about is turning into one of the top predators." Kihyun's smile dropped finally saying the thing that scared him the most. He knew how hard his father fought the predator inside him. His father was a good man and he did multiple types of training to achieve his calm state.

"Yeah, poor Hyung had to go through a lot." Both Jooheon and Kihyun looked towards Shownu who was blankly looking at the fire. His expression held no emotion and it was quite a sad sight to see. It takes years to master that blank expression but the price was he can never show any other expression.

"He was born to be a grizzly bear." Shownu had a tough life just by controlling the beast inside him and both of them pitied him. He was strong in so many aspects and his skills are remarkable. Shownu then turned around to look at them and he gave out a small nod.

"Yeah but being a predator can really be a pain." Both of them nod back giving out a smile. They were worried about Shownu, seeing he has a hard time smiling. His emotions had to be suppressed to a point he would always look numb and it was the only solution that can save the predators.

All predators have one thing in common. They fight for survival. The rule of the wild is killed or be killed so naturally all of them have this bad habit. They easily get into fights or to make it easier to understand they have short tempers.

Sadly, only a few of them can control their temper. It gets ugly really quick when two predator meet. In the world of animal spirits the first species that usually can't control their other half are the Bears. The good thing is Shownu's family figured how to control this built in time bomb.

They realize that only one particular animal can cure them but it was a rare type. This type was so rare that whoever encounters this type will immediately turn into a beast. So far no one had the chance to meet this particular person. So Shownu's family developed this family business. They created a place for predator’s temperamental nature. In short they have a facility to tame the predator’s short temper habits.

"Hey Kihyun, what if you were the one." Jooheon leaned on the log they were sitting while looking at the night sky. Kihyun felt gush of wind making him shiver and then when he looked up he saw the stars where sparkling in a very strange way.

"I hope not."

Kihyun was then called to stand at the center were the moon light was hitting this ceremonial circle. Everyone gathered around him joining their hands to start the chant. A few nature calls and animal sounds the time had come.

"The animal spirit will now transform you to..."

Kihyun closed his eyes feeling this bubbly sensation at the pit of his stomach. His heart then stared to beat fast he felt his whole body burn. It wasn't painful but he can't help but close his eye's feeling that the transformation was starting.

"Shibal..."

Run

RUN!

Every bone in his body knew what will happen if he stayed. He saw everyone looking at him. He never felt more afraid of everyone even his own family. He had no choice but to run away with his best effort. His heart was pounding like a jack hammer.

ROAR!

All hell broke loose when Kihyun finally completed his transformation. The predators transformed into their animal self. They began to run towards Kihyun but he escaped into the woods. He hid behind a tree and he knew his scent might give away his hiding spot.

Everyone was in chaos trying to hold back their family members or even their other half from attacking Kihyun. He felt his world collapse and he knew his life will never be the same. The best thing he could do is move his and go further away from them. His luck must have running out because he bumped into a shoe.

Every blood on his body turned white because he was faced to face with a predator. Kihyun knew that this person with either claim him or eat him alive because there was no way that a beast could control its instincts. His eyes were filled with fear when this tall man slowly bent down to look at him.

Kihyun had no other choice but to shut his eyes waiting for his death. He could feel this person’s breath near his small face. Any moment now he would see his life flash before his eye's but it never came. Oddly enough the predator didn't move a muscle and so did Kihyun.

This must be the perfect time to run for his life but he stayed frozen. He may not get far if he ran but he could say in the afterlife he tried to not die then and there. Kihyun knew he would regret feeling this and yet he just stayed. He hasn't opened his eyes yet because he was still afraid. Somehow, in this crazy night, this predator was rather calm and what's more strange is, Kihyun felt safe.

"Kihyun...?" The moment he heard his voice was the moment Kihyun's eyes almost popped out. He saw non other that Shownu squatting in front of him while his head was tilted to the side. Kihyun was in a whole new level of shock because Shownu was still in his normal form like everything was peachy.

"I expected a lot bigger but that's what the animals wanted you to be." Shownu acted so normal while talking to Kihyun who was smaller than his foot. The latter just stared at him with so much mixed emotions he could not understand.

"At least you look cute but what are you called?" It was like a ton of bricks came falling down Kihyun's head nonstop. He knew Shownu wasn't joking but he also knew that he would also never imagine what this rare type would look like. The books he studied never gave out an updated picture of him so he understood why he was acting like this.

"I'm a..."

"I'm..." Kihyun stuttered not because he was adjusting to his new form. He was afraid what Shownu would do if he finally knew. His gut was telling him that he would transform and attack him but deep down he felt Shownu would do something else.

"You are a what?" Shownu calmly asked really interested in Kihyun's form. He just patiently waited for Kihyun's answer having to see he was having a hard time. He didn't think about Kihyun strange and fidgeting actions. They weren't that close so maybe Shownu concluded that he just felt weird around him.

"I'm a hamster." Shownu had a calm expression before but now his face was stone cold. The aura around him changed and Kihyun felt like he should run but his feet wouldn't budge. So he waited for death to meet him a second time. As he waited he heard Shownu let out a groan while standing up.

Kihyun knew he was going to transform. He then heard his bones snap one by one as he stretched out his back. Then suddenly he crouched back down again. He was once again face to face with Kihyun who was holding his breath.

"Sorry about that my back and legs hurt from squatting." Kihyun's jaw dropped and he doesn't know how to react. No words could explain Shownu's odd behavior. Shownu just gave a clam blank expression feeling now more relaxed. He heard what Kihyun said but he was just bothered by his aching back that's why that serious expression crossed his face.

"Can I like pick you up because my back is starting to hurt." Shownu placed a hand on his back feeling the pain crawling back up again. He felt awkward leaving Kihyun and he felt rather troubled if he just left him with no good reason. Beside their conversation was just getting good and Shownu just wanted to talk.

"Ugh sure." Kihyun doesn't understand how Shownu wasn't acting like he was supposed to do like the others. He trusted him somehow so he just went for it no matter how strange their situation might be. Kihyun felt the fear disappearing and this rather comfortable atmosphere surrounded them.

Shownu placed his hand next to Kihyun so he could climb by himself. He knew that Kihyun would like to be treated like he was weak and having to pick him up will only piss Kihyun off. So that's when Kihyun finally sat on Shownu's hand he felt rather safe and cozy while Shownu felt fuzzy inside.

They continued with their walk not knowing where to go or where to stop. They just enjoyed each other's company while a war was going on in their camp site. That might have slipped out of Kihyun's mind because he was only focusing on the person he was with.

"Jooheon is a bee and that's small." Shownu peacefully argued still having that blank expression he was still maintaining. Kihyun on the other hand had this playful smile enjoying their rather fun conversation.

"Jooheon is a swarm of bees and that's different because just look at me." Jooheon may look soft but he had one great animal because he would turn into a swarm of bees in human form. He was an opponent that has amazing strength of a predator and that is one special ability.

"Don't look so down Kihyun..."If Kihyun wasn't so small, Shownu would have nudged him with his elbow but then he remembered he was sitting at the palm of his hand. It didn't stop him though because he used his thumb to nudge him gently on his small arms.

"You’re soft." Shownu couldn't help blabber it out not knowing how it happened. Kihyun was a bit startled from Shownu's comment. He then felt the blood rush towards his face but he just brushed of that strange feeling.

"You know I hate people calling me cute." Kihyun then twisted his chubby body to avoid looking at Shownu. He made it sound like he was offended and his shoulder dropped making it look like he was sulking.

"What?!" Shownu was taken back by Kihyun's reaction. This time his voice dropped into a low voice. He felt guilty yet confused because he didn't know that this small comment would make him mad. In a split second, Shownu's years of training began to crumble as his face was forming into a frown.

"I'm kidding." Kihyun gave a side glance having this big grin on his face. Shownu felt relieved but his face just turned back into a clam blank expression. Kihyun then looked up admiring the beautiful night sky with its remarkable shining stars.

"I don't mind if it's you." Kihyun just laid it out there making sure to look at Shownu with a gentle smile. Shownu in return just stared back feeling rather happy with their not so awkward situation.

"You know for a small animal spirit you are very cheeky." For Shownu to give that kind of reply was a true miracle because for once he felt like teasing Kihyun. On the other hand, the latter felt proud of himself seeing Shownu was trying to joke around with him.

"Yes I agree because I have really chubby cheeks." Kihyun then proceed to pinch his hamster cheeks making them stretched out. He was truly happy being with Shownu even though he couldn't express any type of emotion. He may look blank to everyone but Kihyun managed to adapt the habit of reading people's emotion through their eyes.

"That's not what I mean and you’re not fat." Shownu then became serious with a hint of worry in his voice. Kihyun saw the flash of emotions in his eyes and he couldn't help but be touch for his caring personality.

"I'm just messing with you." Kihyun would have gave him a small punch on the shoulder like any guy would but he was a hamster after all. So he just settled with hitting Shownu's pinkie that he was currently leaning on.

"Hey Kihyun."

"Yeah...?" Kihyun decided to lay down on Shownu's palm so he could enjoy the night sky while Shownu was walking around to no specific destination in mind. He let his guard down making himself comfortable but then Shownu stopped walking.

"Can I pet you...?"

"Son Hyunwoo I am pissed that you even asked that question." Kihyun sat up straight looking Shownu dead in the eye. He saw Shownu panic because his pupils were dilated. Kihyun felt bad because he didn't mean to look that angry.

"I didn't mean to offend you but..." with Shownu's other free hand he tried surrendered by raising his hand. His little idea seemed to have back fired any good intension he was planning.

"No. sush... just listen first." Kihyun held up his hand making sure his pointer finger was showing. He then shook his head while he closed his eye's giving out a shaky sigh.

"Even though it may be awkward..."

"But I'm going to let you to pet me." With one big gulp of air Kihyun willingly agreed in the end. He was a bit nervous not knowing what will happen next but what shocked him the most was Shownu's reaction.

"Really!" His voice changed and the only type of tone he could use was a calm one or a very low one. This time his voice had this strange high pitch sound and it made Kihyun's heart skip a beat. Both of them were shocked by this new voice but before things go downhill Kihyun snapped out of this strange atmosphere.

"Do it now before I change my mind." Kihyun just blinked at Shownu who looked like he was debating about something in his mind. He expected him to just pet him in the head but he didn't. Shownu gently raised his hand so that he was face to face with Kihyun.

They both looked at each other with this strange emotion. Kihyun's eye's sparkled like there were little star's floating around inside his eyes. Shownu's eyes turned into a golden brown resembling his bear side. In all this strange signs the two of them wasn't bothered by their change.

Shownu slowly lifted his hand and Kihyun thought he would finally pet him in the head. He was wrong on that one because Shownu only placed his other hand under the one that was holding Kihyun. This time both of Shownu's hands slowly held Kihyun.

Suddenly Kihyun was pulled up to meet with Shownu's face. They were only inches apart and he was staring at Shownu's eye's that seemed to have hypnotized him. He felt a rush of warmth when he felt Shownu's breath. He closed his eyes without knowing what will happen next but somehow in their short time together Shownu achieved to gain his trust.

In a split second, Kihyun felt something touch his small forehead. When he slowly opened his eyes he saw Shownu with this peaceful expression. They both had their foreheads together just enjoying this precious moment. So without any second thought Kihyun closed his eyes once again.

The world seemed to disappear around them. Not a sound could be heard when they only focused on this incredible warmth around them. They felt connected to each other without knowing why. Deep down they knew what they did and what happened to them but it was hard to admit.

"It's y..."

CRASH!

Kihyun didn't know what happened but he suddenly woke up feeling this wet soil. When he tried to lock around all he could see is blurry shapes. This incredible ringing sound was all he heard and made it made his head ache. Slowly his vision cleared up and what he saw made his fur turn white.

"SHOWNU!"

The tears keep pouring down like waterfall and yet Kihyun didn't notice it. What he saw was pure horror and blood was being shed. Shownu had transformed into his animal spirit. Two creatures where in a deadly battle and they were both predators.

Kihyun was trembling so bad seeing Shownu was bleeding. He didn't know how long he passed out but seeing that both of them were wounded badly made things easier for him to know. He was a small helpless hamster but seeing Shownu struggling made this fire ignite in his heart.

Shownu was had multiple cuts but he still kept fighting this big predator. He would have won if his opponent wasn't a freaking lion. The lion bears his teeth that was bloody and Shownu stood up making him tower over the lion. With one roar and groan everything stopped.

"No..."

Kihyun wished he could say everything that was happening was just a nightmare but when he ran towards Shownu all he felt was this unbearable pain. The way everything turned into slow motion almost made it harder for Kihyun to run towards him.

The beating of his heart was like a jack hammer. All he wanted was to be with Shownu at this moment not caring what will happen next. His life flashed before his eyes but all he saw was the first time he met Shownu. He can't accept that Shownu life might end just because of him.

At this point tears have started to fall as he desperately ran trying not to stumble. The pain of his broken bones can't compare to his heart slowly being ripped to shreds by every second. He could not understand what it meant but the only thing he wanted to do is save Shownu.

Shownu has been fighting this beast with all his got but he had never unleashed this beast inside him before. This was the first time this happened because his parents already trained him to suppress their biological nature. But when he saw that lion getting near Kihyun all of his self-control was thrown out the window.

The lion slowly approached Shownu having this evil and deadly spark in his eyes. He then opened his jaw to give out the final blow. His sharp teeth can kill anything in one quick bite. A mighty bear was not an exemption to this lions deadly bite. Shownu was just laying on the ground helpless and tired but then something came up to his line of sight.

"STOP!"

The world around them was swirling. The leaves started to swirl around them looking as if they were in the center of a tornado. The moon shined it's light on this blurry person standing before Shownu. But the crazy thing was this person standing before him was no ordinary human nor animal.

"MOVE!"

The lion slowly closed his mouth and he stepped back. The lion’s eyes looked different because it turned black. Shownu had no idea what was happening but he tried his best to stay conscious.

"Transform."

The leaves surrounding them started to fall. This great pressure weighed them down. This intense pressure doesn't seem to affect Shownu but his opponent was whimper in pain. Slowly the lion stared to transform back. When he finally turned back into his human form he collapsed.

"HOONY!" Someone suddenly ran towards them having his broken look on his face. That person didn't bother to look at what happened because he was too busy running towards the guy that collapsed. He was cradling him in his arm and when he felt him breathing he couldn't help but break down.

"Shownu."

This person suddenly turned around to finally face Shownu but he was face with this incredible beauty. His eyes were black but it looks like there were stars in his eyes. His nails were sharp and his ears were pointed up. Every inch of him changed but that single gaze reassured Shownu.

"Kihyun..."

"Come on Shownu!"

"We're going to be late!"

"I'm coming..." Shownu stumbled as he was putting on his shoes. He was half asleep not knowing he had his shirt backwards. He was being dragged out of the house so you can't blame the poor guy. Shownu didn't mind so he just ran out with Kihyun.

It's been 4 months since the transformation stared. Everyone seemed to go back to normal when the bear clan controlled the situation. But for that to happen Kihyun had to stay with Shownu's family so he could master his powers and what better to control them when he had Shownu. Time seemed to go so fast and to slow when they were around each other.

The Lion they fought was actually Shownu's 2nd cousin and the one who ran to him was his other half. Yoon and Hoony begged for forgiveness everyday whenever they would meet. It wasn't their fault because one side effect of Kihyun's new gift is making any predator loose themselves.

"Well it's too late now the gates are closed." Shownu appeared next to Kihyun who was pissed. Suddenly out of habit he transformed. He wanted to hit Shownu so badly but deep down he knew he couldn't.

"Kihyun hear me out first." Shownu grabbed Kihyun's hands that were balled up into fists. His knuckles were turning white but Shownu just gently caressed his knuckles making them loosen up.

"Let's just skip and have a date." Shownu then looked at Kihyun's dark gaze. Kihyun can't help but let his anger die down. He may be the strongest person in the world but Shownu was his weakness.

"Can't I have this one day with my beautiful hybrid." Shownu then continued on by reaching out to touch Kihyun's cheek. Kihyun felt so touched but he tried his best not to shed any tears and yet he failed. He then felt Shownu's thumb brush over his eye.

"Shownu you..."

"Please." Shownu then gave his signature counter attack by using his golden brown eyes now copying the most power look a person can make. Kihyun felt so stupid and weak for this look and yet he loves it.

"You're so lucky that your my other half." Kihyun shook his head seeing that Shownu was giving him the puppy dog eye's or as he calls it the teddy bear eye's. He was then pulled into a big hug that he quickly returned buy snuggling deeper in his arms.

"Love you too." Shownu then slowly pulled away revealing his perfect eye smile. Kihyun didn't need to look at Shownu's eyes to know how he felt because he can cleary see his big grin that was already covering his eye's.

These days he had seen so many emotions and expression from Shownu and this must be his favorite one. Kihyun can't help giggle at how this person in front of him was labeled dangerous when he actually turned out to be his big fluffy teddy bear.

Kihyun was the cure but somehow in this crazy mess Shownu was the one who cured him in his own way. He didn’t want to see that blank expression again and that's not a bad thing. Kihyun may have forgotten but the day he met Shownu was the day Shownu gave out a small gentle smile.

Shownu then proceed to let out a small chuckle feeling that he won another gold medal. He even fist pump in the air and Kihyun couldn't help but give Shownu a light shove. With one last word Shownu grabbed Kihyun's hand not knowing where to go.

"Ka Ja!"

Well my schedule is very hectic but I managed to finish this. Having writer's block is one of the problems but it's over now. Thank you for waiting and now I will finally start with the first chapter of MLF (My Lovely Family)
