Pledis Entertainment's new group, Luminous, just revealed their first member today!

After the surprise press conference just weeks ago from Pledis Entertainment's CEO, the company has finally dropped the first member of their anticipated girl group, Luminous. Up until today, Pledis has purposely tried to keep the identities of their newest girl group members out of the spotlight, but it seems that Pledis is getting ready to reveal the debut of these seven girls.

Chae Aejeong, going by the stage name 'Iris', is the first official reveal and in due time, considering she's been a Pledis trainee for four years now. And get this, she used to be a figure skater! Well, it seems that she's turned in her skates for a mic and what a good call she made. The twenty-year-old Japanese-Korean member is set up for a big role as the lead vocalist, lead dancer, and co-composer of the group. And with the surprise addition of her solo videos posted on Pledis Entertainments Youtube channel and Twitter, we can tell that Iris definitely lives up to her position.

With her solo rendition of the popular song, "Let it Go," from the movie, Frozen, Iris' deep and soulful voice and perfect high notes, are definitely a contrast to her very innocent and almost doll-like appearance that send shivers up our spines and puts an ache in our hearts. However, Iris's vocals aren't the only thing shocking the fans. Her solo dance video to I.O.I's "Very, Very, Very," shows the girl's fluid and skillful movements and expressive features. Iris is definitely a force to be reckoned with, and we here at allkpop will be supporting her all the way!

Though she might not be a visual, Iris has a very unique and soft look about her displayed in her teaser pictures below that is sure to bring in many interested fans, as well as her immensely talented vocals and dance skills. We can tell that Pledis made the right decision in adding her to the group.
