Chapter Nine
a princess needs her ball gown!
The time was 11 A.M. on the dot on Saturday, the day all of the female committee members had agreed to meet on. Rhea ran past people, attempting to make it to the bus stop before the bus left at 11:15. Nearly drenched in her own sweat, she made it just in time to stop the doors from closing. Entering the bus, Rhea spotted the others seated in the back of the bus. The girls had left a seat open in-between Sungmi and Jiae, even though they weren't sure themselves if Rhea was going to make it or not. Rhea, out of breath, made her way to the back of the bus and quickly took her seat in-between the two girls. "We thought you weren't going to make it!" Jiae exclaimed with a frown. "Sorry, my alarm didn't go off so I woke up later on accident." Rhea sheepishly explained with a small smile on her face. "Well, at least you made it, that's what really matters." Mari bluntly stated with a smile. She was right, at least Rhea had made it. The bus took the girls into downtown Seoul, where all of the dress shops were located. "You girls are going to love the dress shop we are taking you all to!" Mari spoke happily, almost showing just how excited she was to be going prom dress shopping with the others girls. "Yes, their dresses are very nice." Sumin shyly stated, trying to make herself comfortable around the other members. Jiae shot her an encouraging smile, which helped remind Sumin that she had nothing to be nervous about around the other girls. They were all friends now anyways. It was only a twenty minute ride until the bus finally made its way to its next stop, the stop that the girls needed to get off at. Sticking close to one another, the girls made their way through the crowds of people. They only walked for a short while until Mari had successfully directed them to the dress shop they would be shopping at today. "Rumor Has It?" Rhea read the sign in English, it being a language she is completely fluent in. "Ooh, nice job!" Jiae replied back in fairly broken English, showing how impressed she was with Rhea, who was bi-lingual. Everyone laughed at Jiae's silliness before entering the nice and fancy dress shop.
Inside, the girls were greeted by a female employee who directed them to the dresses for social parties for young women. The cielings had chandeliers hanging from them while the show room floor itself was adored with multiple mannequins and clothing racks. All of the girls began looking at the different dresses on display, trying to pick out some they liked despite the vast selection they all had in front of them. "I don't know how I'm even going to choose!" Jiae exclaimed with a huge smile. "They are all such beautiful dresses!" Everyone picked out two to three dresses to start out, making their way over to the changing rooms to try on the dresses. Mari was elected to go first, in order to set an example to the other girls. She first came out in an ivory creme dress that had a long slit down the center. "What do you think?" Mari asked with a smile, looking for any sort of reaction. "Too much cleavage, next!" Sungmi immediately spoke out, shooting down the risque gown. Mari frowned at the negative reactions, walking back inside the changing room in order to try on gown number two. She stepped out, for the second time, wearing a red dress with a long slit down the side, showing some of her right leg. Immediately, all of the girls began to say that "it was the dress" and Mari's smile returned as well. Not even bothering to try on the third dress, Mari took her seat next to Joori. Sungmi was up next in the changing room, only having grabbed two dresses herself. She came out first in a
