The haunted inn

Searching for Rilakkuma

A/N:So, i travelled to the country. And decided that writing the beggining of this chapter while in a creepy house with huge windows to the absolute darkness and suspicious noises would be a good idea. Just let me tell you, it was not.

Surprisingly, prince Roy slept relatively quickly, after all, his armour might have been lighter, but it was still a heavy full body armour. The boys were in deep sleep, tucked in their beds.

Roy dreamt of chasing butterflies in a colorful flower field that had a wonderful smell, and Karry dreamt of slaying a dragon and saving himself, for he was more beautiful than any maiden. Everything was peaceful.

Until midnight came.

The clock striked 12, and the door creaked open. Steps echoed from the hall, reaching closer and closer. Suddenly, there was a loud metal banging and falling in the room, making the two dart awake.

"What? What is going on?" Karry asked grogly, sitting up slowly. "I don't know, i-why are our things on the floor?" Roy asked, eyeing the metal pieces that had spread all over the floor. "Why is the door open?" He said noticing he could see the hallway. "Maybe it was-" Karry started, only to be interrupted by intelligible mumbling.

Both princes eyes got wide, and they stared at eachother in fear. Karry got up and took his sword from the floor, careful not to make any noises. He wielded it, and sending a meaningful glance to Roy, said out loud "Who is there?".

And the mumbling stopped.

The door creaked, swaying back and forth, until it suddenly slammed shut. "KaArry!!" The younger prince's voice cracked in fear when he screamed. The older strolled to Roy, looking down to his shaking face. Roy was obviously terrified, and seeing him like this made a protective instinct bloom in Karry.

He took the smaller in his arms, encircling his thin frame strongly "Don't be afraid." He said in a gentle, calming voice "It was nothing, probably just the wind." Prince Karry continued. He was not going to tell Roy that he was actually freaking a little the heck out. Absolutely not.

After a few moments, the younger's trembles started to lessen, and Karry felt a little proud that he could make Roy feel protected. They withdrawn a step from eachother, Karry lifted Roy's face so he could see him, and smiled.

"See? Everything is fine now" a tentative smile formed back in the smaller's face, only to be wiped by a bang on the window. The older turned around in time to see it open harshly, a cold wind finding it's way in, rustling their hair and making them squint.

"What in the-" Karry stopped, when he saw a black vulture climbing into their room with the wind. "AAAAAAAAH!!!" Both boys screamed terrified, running away from the window.

Prince Karry threw the door open, fleeing down the hall to the stairs "WE HAVE TO-" He started screaming to prince Roy, turning to the side, only to realise he wasn't being followed. Not by the vulture, and not by Roy.

Karry turned around immediately, sprinting back to the creaky wooden door. He kicked it open and saw Roy glued to the wall paralized, staring in horror at the vulture making its way to him.

The taller decided trying to snap him out of it would take much longer then they had, so he grabbed the smaller, flinged him over his shoulder and got back to running away and screaming, this time with Roy safe on his hold.

They practically jumped down the stairs (Karry, that is. Roy mostly screamed and held into the older's shirt for dear life) and reached the floor level.

"We must save the good lady too! Where is she?! Help me find her!!" prince Karry decided, and bravely went room after room of the old inn in search of the woman to save, while paranoidly asking prince Roy every ten seconds if he saw anything creeping at their back.

They searched all the rooms two times, before giving up and going outside. Reaching their horses, Karry decided it was safe to put Roy down, and he swayed slightly after all the time at the weird position he stayed on.

The boys sat down under a tree beside the one their horses were tied, and Roy started plucking the grass nearby nervously. "What should we do?" The younger prince asked tiredly.

"Let's stay here. Just until dawn. Then we get our things back, and we're out." Karry decided. After all, apparitions wouldn't appear at day light, right? He hoped so. Karry propped on the tree trunk, and Roy at his shoulder.

It was really cold, so prince Karry decided to hold the smaller so they could sleep better. 'Because of the warmth, of course.' The taller prince reasoned with himself, as he felt Roy's sweet scent engulf him. Roy wished good night, and Karry hugged him a little tighter, nuzzling his hair. For warmth.

The princes got woken up by sunrays on their closed eyelids, what, in Karry's opinion, was quite unplesant and rude. He was sleeping rather soundly, after all.

They groaned as they got up, sleeping on the floor at the outside in a cold night was not the best idea. Their bodies were stiff and hurting all over, so they made their way back into the inn hunched and grumbling like a pair of old men.

Getting in, not much had changed, saved for their searching trail in the dust. The princes cautiously went up the stairs and through the faded carpet of the hall, reaching last night's room.

Both reached for the doorknob of the old wooden door, and both backed away. "Open the door!" Young Roy rushed Karry. "What?! Why me?! You open the door!" The brave one countered. "I am not going near that room again in my life" Roy declared, stomping away.

"Great, then we are going without our armours!" Karry said crossing his arms, testing the younger. "I guess we are." Said prince Roy in an ending tone.

-What?! But my dress armour is in there!
-Then you better go get it.
-Fine! I will!
-Ok.
-I said i am getting it!
-I heard you.
-Look at me! I am going!
-I believe in you.
-I really am! I am at the door!
-You can do it!

Karry stared grumply at the door, not wanting to open it at all, and turned the doorknob. It opened creaking loudly like the day before, and looking inside he saw untied beds, an open window, a golden and a silver swords, and a silver armour.

-Only- a silver armour.

Prince Karry leaped in the room, turning it upside down on a haste to find his precious designer armour, but to no avail. It was gone.

"It's gone!!" He exclaimed at the hall, teary eyed. Roy was uncertain. "Isn't that... Good?" Karry looked outraged for a moment, but then he understood. "No! It's not the apparition i am talking about, it's my armour! It has disappeared!"

Prince Roy went in to verify, and came back with his hands in his pockets, feigning casuality. "So... I guess it has disappeared. Say... Like the suspiciously creepy lady?" Karry's mouth hanged open "You think she..." "That's probably why she was so interested. I guess last night was a trick too."

The older prince looked stricken "...Oh." "Yes. Let's get our stuff and get out of here, we have to move on." Karry seemed to be in a daze, so Roy took their things and guided his friend to the horse. At least they didn't get robbed, or the princes would have to walk the rest of the way by foot. But being things the way they were, the boys rided. Into the Enchanted Forest.

Chapter 5: Oh my goodness. So first, Yuan encounters a weird merman, then Junkai picks off fruit and gets the trees upset. He goes to a restaurant without Yuan?? And then he doesn't even get to eat???? *Sigh* Catching fish and roasting them over a fire would be much better than mineral water XD
