One particular apartment was busy that morning. Although there were only two girls living in there, that day was special for either of them but in a different way, so each was busy with their own things since the sun rose. The older but shorter girl skillfully picked an outfit for the day, but for some reasons, she couldn’t find her denim jacket which she wanted to wear that day. With a huff, she stormed out of the bedroom and found the latter girl, who was noticeably taller, sitting on the couch wearing the turtleneck she was looking for.

“Daeun-ah!” the older girl whined, “I want to wear that denim for my date after class today!” She sat down beside the tall girl and crossed her arms.

The latter girl glanced a bit at her before answering, “I thought this jacket is too big for you and you gave it to me?”

“It doesn’t mean I don’t want to wear it,” cut the older girl, still pouting. “Can you please wear something else? Besides, this is your first day of college! Wear something else more… Suitable. Any jacket but denim jacket.”

Daeun rolled her eyes. “Alright, alright. You win. I’m going to change now. Happy?” She got up and quickly got changed. Without much consideration, she picked another jacket to complement her black turtleneck and walked out of the bedroom. She threw the denim jacket on the girl’s lap and picked up her bag.

“I’m going out now,” Daeun spoke as she headed toward the foyer to put on her white sneakers. The girl followed Daeun to the foyer and tapped her back.

“Isn’t it too early?”

Daeun shrugged. “I want to look around first to familiarize myself with the campus area.”

The girl nodded in approval. “Good luck on your first day,” she stated, sounded more excited than Daeun herself. “Here, let me tell you a tip for the first day of college—make friends as soon as possible. The longer you stalling around here and there without a friend, the harder it will be for you to befriend with other freshmen. Don’t forget to smile
