The wooden stairs squeaks when the petite boy came running on his way down to the first floor, his bag sluggishly hanging on his left shoulder while he tries to find a way out for his right arm through the sleeve of his school uniform coat. “Eomma! I gotta go now!” Ryeowook shout when he passed the dining room. “At least eat your breakfast first!!”  The boy’s mother shouted back, his head peeking out briefly from the kitchen to call out for his one and only son. The eleventh grade boy make a quick u-turn on his heels and head back to where his mother were cooking. He knows that if he ignored that one call, he’ll never gonna hear the end of it for the whole day. He walked with a quick steps around the table whilst swiftly grab a slice of bread and put the newly cooked bacon on it. “I’ll just take this then, eomma. I’m late… Kyuhyun is already waiting for me.” He planted a kiss on his mom’s cheek before turning to the front door once again. “Alright… But sweetheart, make sure you eat your lunch at school!! Arra?!!” Ryeowook was long gone out of the house when his mother shouted the last phrase. He can still hear it, but he pretend not to. If he answered him, then he’ll be stuck for another ten minutes listening to him about what kind of food he should eat for lunch. He wears his shoes outside so he can avoid that. He can see a wavy haired boy were standing at the front gate of his house, he smiled cheekily and waved at the younger boy. “Owhh.. Poor my Kyu Kyu, you must be cold aren’t you, waiting for me in the snow?” Ryeowook teased as he walked towards Kyuhyun and tousled the boy’s hair, making it looks even messier than it already is. Kyuhyun slightly slapped away the slender hand and styled his hair back. “Seriously, can’t your mom tone his voice down a little bit? I bet that even the neighbourhood’s dogs is getting deaf listening to him.” Kyuhyun stated as the matter of fact. “You talk to him yourself. The thing that he’s ever nagged is only about me eating or not anyway, it’s no big deal. I don’t know either what’s his problem with my meals, but he’s never forget to make sure I ate three of them every single day.” The petite boy slurred a little bit of his words as he munched on his breakfast. Kyuhyun halted and look at his childhood friend from head to toes. The slightly older boy also stop on his track and confusedly looked at the wavy haired boy. “What? Have I got something on my face?” Ryeowook asked whilst both of his hands brushing each part of his face, searching for the possible crumbs from the bread. “You’re so skinny, only skin and bone. If I’ve never met you, then I would say that you’re the eighth grader who still doesn’t reach his puberty. I don’t blame your mother for being paranoid over your eating schedule. I would do the same if I’m in his shoes.” Kyuhyun rose his brows, while Ryeowook scrunched his. “Well, it’s not my fault! I look like this because I was standing next to you. You are the one who grew up abnormally. What do you even eat?! A lamp post?!” The petite boy grumbled as he started to walk again. “Growth pattern is different for each person, it’s not depend on just what you ate.” The wavy haired boy stated flatly “Still, It’s should’ve be a sin to be taller than someone who’re older than you, this world is so unfair...” Ryeowook faked a sob. “We’re only a year apart…” Kyuhyun sighed. “I’ve still remembered it clearly, as if it just happened yesterday. The day when you moved in this neighbourhood. I’ve always being the one who saved your every time you’ve being bullied by the neighbourhood kids. I was much taller than you back then… hahhh.. time is so cruel” The shorter male stick out his lower lip, forming a pout. “That was a long time ago. Don’t remind me of it, It’s embarrassing.” Kyuhyun replied with a soulless tone. The wavy haired boy stopped walking when they reached the bus stop, he remain standing as all of the chair were occupied Ryeowook lifted up his gaze and glare at the younger male. He wonders what has made his childhood friend to be so expressionless lately. His Kyu Kyu never that cold and grumpy, unless something had pissed him off.   Kyuhyun was a new kid who moved in the neighbourhood twelve years ago. Nothing’s wrong with him, he’s just a cute taciturn kid who were born in a rich family. But because of that chaebol family background, kids in the neighbourhood didn’t go near him. His silent personality also didn’t help it either. Some kids even started picking on him, saying that he’s snobbish and a spoiled brat just because he had money. But Ryeowook knows better. His mother were once a gardener in the Cho household, so he and Kyuhyun always played together ever since they were in kindergarten. He protected the younger boy when he was being bullied, he carried the boy on his back when Kyuhyun had fallen and injured his knees. And they sometimes have a night over at each other house once in a while. Jumping on the bed and had a nice pillow fight. He know Kyuhyun inside out. That wavy haired boy always cute and lovely when he was little. Ryeowook don’t wanna admit it, but he’s even learned some aegyo tricks from that boy.   Ryeowook didn’t even realized that the bus had arrived and he was more than startled when the wavy haired boy dragged him forward not so gently to board the bus, pulling him out of his reminiscing about the said boy. “Can you stop that? It’s dangerous, you know?! You’re always spacing out everywhere.” The younger boy scold him. “Eomma! I want my old Kyu Kyu back…” Ryeowook whines as he enter the bus with Kyuhyun tailing behind him.   When they reached their school’s gate, the wavy haired boy patted his hyung’s back to catch his attention. “I’ve forgot to tell you, I actually have a club meeting after school. It’s gets colder in the evening, so you can head home first and don’t have to wait for me.” Kyuhyun informed the shorter male. “Nah. It won’t be that long, isn’t? The most it took probably less than thirty minutes. I’ll just wait for you over here.” Ryeowook smiled as he declined the offer and insist of walking home together. “Suit yourself.” The younger male then walk over to his classroom, leaving his offended childhood friend behind. “I’m this willing to even wait for you in the cold. At least say that you’re thankful. Humpfff!” The eleventh grade boy then stomp his feet and go on his way to his own classroom with a puff up cheeks.   When the last bell rang, Kyuhyun quickly shoved all of his stationeries and books in the bag and slung it over his shoulder before he scurried out of the class. The club meeting were cancelled, he was informed about it on the last minute by the president of the club himself during the second break time. When he reached the front gate, he realized that there’s still no sign of the figure he expected to be there. A sighed escaped his lips. He didn’t sure if the sigh is a relief or an annoyed one. “He’s not even here yet. And here I’m running like a mad, afraid that he might’ve been freezing his waiting for me.” Kyuhun scratched his nape as he leaned against the cold wall. Kyuhyun waited for another ten minutes in that pose. Puffs of mist forming out his mouth and nose as he breath. The air gets colder, and the students that coming out from the gate is lesser, everyone’s already getting back home. But Kim Ryeowook is still nowhere to be seen.   That skinny boy won’t just go back home on his own. Okay, actually he would. But that’ll only happened if he hadn’t promised Kyuhyun that he’ll wait for him. For over a decade knowing that older boy, Kyuhyun had never experienced any situation about Ryewoook backed on his own word. Breaking promises are the least likely thing his childhood friend would do. He waited for another five minutes and then

Chapter 3: Lol. If you write more, I'll read it.
It is natural for authors to think their work is cringy. We are our own worst critics. I think the same about a lot of my work, but people seem to like it.
This was cute too and considering the first chapter, I am glad that injury wasn't too bad. lol. They are really so adorable together.
