Tomorrow, Like Yesterday

Description

With tensions between the Kingdom of Joseon and the Qing Dynasty rising, Wonwoo knew that the future would only hold war. What the Crown Prince did not expect was that his new personal guard would eventually become his most trusted companion, and that four hundred years later, they would meet once again.

"Tensions were rising with the neighboring nation. Although he had grown accustomed to the relative stability of the economy and governmental body, reality did not evade Wonwoo; he recognized that the increasing conflicts between the Joseon and the Qing were bound to result in the fluctuation of everyday life for all: soaring market prices, food shortages, involuntary military draft, torn families. The issue of foreign intelligence infiltrating the kingdom could not be ignored either. Wonwoo understood all of this, yet when his eyes fell on the sight of an unfamiliar figure bowing before him, he could not deny the blow on his pride. Kim Mingyu, the stranger’s name was – the Crown Prince’s newly-appointed personal guard."

Author's Note

In the past, I never really liked reincarnation fics, but I have to say that they’ve been slowly growing on me. My main inspiration stems from the Goblin OST song “Stay with Me” by Chanyeol and Punch (Chanyeol sounds a bit like Wonwoo too hng) so I would recommend playing it on repeat while reading to build the mood!

This twoshot is divided into two parts, the first occurring over a span of 8 years during the Joseon Dynasty (the 1600s) and the second taking place in the modern era. I'm not a history buff therefore some aspects of the first part may be historically inaccurate, but I tried to incorporate as much factual history as I could. I apologize in advance for any inaccuracy!

I'll also enter this into two writing contests but more information about that will come later.

And of course, thank you soooo so so much to Abby from Wanderlust Designs. Her work is amazing and she's super super super nice and talented. Check out her shop by clicking on the banner below!

Now without further ado, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy "Tomorrow, Like Yesterday"!
