Chappie 5

One in a million

From the corner of Somi's eye, she could've sworn she saw Wooshin just walking around. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her, she thought to herself.

Lately, she's been thinking a lot about him, so it must be possible for her mind to play tricks on her. Plus, she doesn't really have a perfect vision. I think she would've mistaken a tree for Wooshin without her corrective glasses. Kidding, her eyes are a bit blurry but its bearable.

Wanna know how I know all about her eyesight? No, it isn't from the book of love. A new feature in spying on them! We can look through their perspective. Amazing right? And of course, the book of love mentions what's on their minds.

"Oppa, how did you prepare all of these? It must've taken you half a day or so to prepare these by yourself. Unless your mom helped."

"Sad to say, I sacrificed my sleep for this. Mom was busy so I had to do it alone." Kogyeol sighed dramatically before chuckling and earning a slap on the chest, courtesy of Ms. Somi Ennik Jeon Douma. "Kidding, I had help from Wooshin a little while ago. I would've invited him but that would mean I'm taking both of you on a date. I didn't want you to feel left out." He joked, in which Somi laughed at and hit his lap softly. "Aigoo, you're quite a joker today huh?"

She clicked her tongue before giving his cheek a peck. "We should hang out with him next time and show our gratitude. Our date would probably be postponed if it wasn't for him." Somi said as she reached up to poke her boyfriend's nose.

"That's true. If it wasn't for him, raccoons would've probably gotten our food. And you wouldn't be able to enjoy the food I prepared especially for you.~" He exclaimed in a singsong voice, tapping her nose affectionately an smiling at her.

"So you were serious about cooking all of this. I'm surprised, you're taking the 'working in our shop' seriously. If mom and dad saw you, they would probably ship me off with you by now. Telling me to take care of you instead." The teenage girl said as she chuckled, taking a piece of chicken salad sandwich and biting unto the side, munching off the lettuce, tomato and onion along with the bread and the main spread.

"Mmmm~" she hummed in satisfaction as she wiped the sides of with her thumb. "This is awesome!" Somi exclaimed and got a piece of onigiri, nibbling the top part before taking another bite from the sandwich.

"The combined taste is explicit!" She said once she swallowed the portion she ate. If only there was a feature wherein we can also taste the food they're currently eating. Being an angel is a hard job. Plus the delivery guys don't always get our address correctly. Such a drag. Also, to the book of love, Kogyeol is a good cook. Wooshin can cook too though, just saying.

The teenage girl brought a piece of pork trotters near the lad's mouth. He blinked for a moment before smiling and eating the meat offered. "This tasted so much better when you fed it to me. I'm so lucky to have you." He said, pulling Somi softly to give her forehead a quick kiss. That made her cheeks turn crimson once again. He never fails to make her look like a tomato. I swear. How will Wooshin stand a chance now?

I'm kinda getting tired of watching these two's lovey dovey-ness. Don't get me wrong, I love romance as much as the next angel, but, the more I watch them, the more I feel bad about pairing Somi with Wooshin. Also, I'll feel hopeless cause I think Somi fell hard for Kogyeol, and vice versa. This is so unfair.

Looking at Wooshin though, he seems as hopeless as I am. His shoulders were hunched as he continued to pace around the vicinity and kick some of the leaves that have fallen. His lower lip was jutted out like a child. The book of love said that he was a bit sad about Somi and Kogyeol's date. Same buddy, same.

"I shouldn't be feeling this way. I met her once. Chatted with her once. That's all." A sigh escaped his lips as he slumped down on the ground and crossed his arms.

"Hmmm? Isn't that your friend Wooshin-ssi?" The familiar voice made Wooshin's head whip back to where the source was. Not that far from him stood the happy couple. Somi, running towards him, her fingers intertwined with Kogyeol as he towed behind her. A scowl suddenly formed on Wooshin's handsome face but was quickly replaced by a look of pure and utter confusion. Were they done with their date already?

'So he WAS here!' Somi thought as she stopped in front of the sulking male. "Hello there! Thank you for helping this little boy over here." The lass smiled as she playfully hit Kogyeol's head, who whined in return. "I'm nowhere near being little. Right Wooshin?" The said boy chuckled and shook his head. "I think Somi is right though. You're a kid most of the time hyung." Wooshin stated. "Oh yeah, aren't you two on a date? I shouldn't be third wheeling right now. Go ahead and have fun." He continued as he ushered the two away.

"Pffftt... We decided to hang out with you today instead. Without you, the picnic wouldn't have been successful. So here, I brought you some food." The red headed boy handed him a container filled with untouched food. They both took a sit on either side of Wooshin and grinned, waiting for him to open it and taste the food. "I'm sue you haven't eaten yet. Then maybe we can go get coffee later, since its a bit chilly here in the park." Somi suggested, before laying down and covering herself with orange leaves, which made both boys laugh and watch her in amusement.

"I feel like I'm in the beach. Instead of sand though, I'm buried underneath dead leaves. This is what I like about autumn." Her voice was soft as she hummed underneath the pile of leaves. "If you die in there, I have a hockey stick here that can serve as a reminder of where you are." Kogyeol said in a joking manner. "Meanie~ You wouldn't even try to revive me. Remind me why you're my boyfriend again?" She exclaimed as she sat up and pouted at him before moving slightly to blow a few fallen leaves towards him, earning a laugh from the male wearing a yellow sweater.

He noticed Somi's hair which was filled with leaves, being the gentleman that he is, he decided to help her by taking it out and throwing it towards his friend's direction. "You two are so mean to me~" He whined like a child before getting a bunch of leaves and throwing it in their direction. He hurriedly stood and ran away from them, laughing loudly at the two's appearance.

"You're so paying for this oppa!" Somi stood up, gathering a pile of leaves in her arms and ran after Kogyeol, with Wooshin following behind.

"Can't catch me slow pokes!!!" Kogyeol taunted as he ran faster. The young girl decided to ditch the pile of leaves by throwing it towards Wooshin, who just laughed at the couple. He got a bunch of leaves as well and threw it towards Somi, who was dashing towards Kogyeol. The three were laughing as they spent the whole day playing with the leaves.

"That was fun. But seriously, we need to rest and let Wooshin eat. He might be starving by now." Sometimes I wonder why I ship Kogyeol with Wooshin, then this happens. I should stick to my lane.

"I'll go get us drinks, you guys stay here first okay?" He gave Somi's head a peck before he left to go get them something warm to drink.

"Somi, can I ask something?"

"Hmmm? Sure go ahead."

"Well, how did you two meet? Our school is a bit far from here, and so are our houses."

Somi hummed as she went over to the other side of the shed-like place made of glass and wrote random things. It was cold enough to do so. "I met him in our pizza parlour. It was my first day of handling the cash register, he was my first customer. Ever since, he would go there at exactly 5 pm, once classes and clubs were over. On weekends he'll be early though. 11 am, helping me with the boxes until he needs to go home at 6."

"How'd he ask you out? And, why'd you say yes?" Wooshin was indeed curious as to how the couple still wanted to be in a relationship despite the distance they both have to travel.

"I thought I only like him. But as time went by, I realized I fell in love with him. He stayed with me during my afternoon shifts. I got to learn about him, and he learned more about me." She smiled as she drew a heart and wrote Kogyeol's name in hangul. "One day though, someone called and ordered my favorite flavor of pizza. Didn't know it was him until he came to pick it up. He opened the box, attached some pictures on the cover itself. A wheel. The letter 'u'. A cute little bee. The words 'my' and 'girlfriend'. I couldn't help but say yes. I love him, he proved he loves me, what's stopping us? My family loves him. His family wanted me to visit them everyday."

He couldn't help but reply with a short 'oh' as Somi sighed in happiness, reminiscing the days where they would just fold boxes. "I love you too." An arm wrapped itself around Somi from behind, which made her yelp in surprise but nevertheless kiss his cheek.
