To say Youngjae was feeling nervous was definitely an understatement, he was feeling a mix of things; anxious, on edge and extremely excited all at once about the events which will take place today. A few days prior he had received a letter containing information about his case and his request. He was glad to find out that they had accepted the request and ecstatic to find out that the one who would be protecting him was the man he had come to adore. Youngjae was also very happy to find out that Jinyoung had been put under police protection too, though he was curious to see who would be staying with him–since they would have to deal with his cousin and roommate too, they were definitely a force to be reckoned with. The letter stated that his protector (Im Jaebum) would arrive at 12 pm sharp and would be staying for at least two months to six months depending on the severity of the case. Youngjae's chest fluttered when he read it, he would be living with a stranger–who is extremely hot–for who knows how many months. Would Youngjae be able to look past his hormones for the sake of a case which could cost him his life? He had his doubts but what can he do about that, it was honestly Jaebum's fault for being so god-damned handsome. In the present, Youngjae was darting around his house, picking up dirty clothing from his floor and piling it in his washing machine with powder before closing the door and turning it on. Youngjae even went as far as clearing out his fridge of any expired foods and condiments and ordered a fresh batch of groceries online–not that he really bought them in person anymore. When Youngjae cleaned out his spare room the previous day, he found his old bed frame from which he moved into the house with resting against the spare room's wall. Noticing the faint smell of dirty laundry lingering in the air, he lit multiple vanilla scented candles around his home and the dehumidifier located in the living room nearby his study. Only when he had opened a window in the kitchen, the spare bedroom and in his own bedroom did he stop to take a sip of his coffee, which had gone slightly cold by that time. Grimacing he poured it away and made himself a new one as he settled on the kitchen counter. He suddenly felt anxious, what if Jaebum thought that Youngjae was trying too hard? The thought made him scramble up over to the living room and begin to place magazines on the coffee table messily. Checking the clock on the nearby wall, he noticed it was only 10:40 am and headed back to the kitchen. Youngjae facepalmed, he had misread the time and rushed for nothing. On the bright side though, it gave time for the candles to burn away the gross smell and have it replaced with a fresh vanilla breeze. Youngjae had been so preoccupied with getting the spare room sorted out for Jaebum that he had forgotten to clean his actual house. Pouring hot water into his coffee, he stirred it before sitting on the sofa and watching his favourite show of all time, 'Crime Scene'. After a few episodes, he heard a knock on his door and the feelings he had been avoiding sprang up to his throat, Youngjae was so nervous he thought he might actually barf all over his freshly polished floor. Youngjae was biting his nails. Hastily walking over to the door and unlocking it, he peeked through the doors opening seeing Officer Im wearing casual clothing that made the outfit Youngjae was wearing look slightly overdressed. Maybe Youngjae had gone over the top slightly with his black and white checkered collar shirt and his khaki trousers, but who cares he looked good. Plus it is not Youngjae's fault that a lot of his clothing is top quality brands from all over the world, he blames it on his mother for shipping him so much clothing. Youngjae wondered how he managed to look so good in such ordinary clothes, he wondered if the other could pull just about any outfit off. Youngjae figured he would find out soon enough. Officer Im was wearing a white tank top with some black trousers and a pair of white converse shoes. Noticing how he had yet to open the door wide enough to let the other in, let alone greet him, he pulled the door open wider.

"H-hello, Officer Im." Youngjae whispered lightly.

"Hey Youngjae, Just call me Jaebum. It's crucial you refer to me by my name now or it'll put everyone, including yourself, at risk," explained Officer Im.

"Oh right, sorry." Youngjae felt stupid and had begun to belittle himself internally, "please come in and make yourself at home."

Officer Im nodded at Youngjae before lifting his suitcase and carrying it inside with ease. Youngjae then briefly looked outside before closing the door and locking it. He then turned to face Officer Im who was gazing around Youngjae's small, but humble home.

"It's a nice place you've got here."

"Thanks, it's all I really have since my parents are always away for work. Anyway, let me show you to your room. Hopefully, it's too your liking."

Youngjae smiled leading Officer Im to the spare bedroom, opening the door he walked inside watching the other's facial for a reaction. He observed the other carefully, noticing the way his eye smoothened out and eyes widened, and how his lips twitched up at the corners. Jaebum was grateful for the room, he was honestly prepared to camp out on the couch. Thanking Youngjae he started to get settled in, Youngjae left him to his own devices. Youngjae left with a massive grin on his face, his nerves had left him after the other had seen his home, an invisible weight unloaded his shoulders. Youngjae went to the kitchen and started making lunch for the two of them. The rest of the evening passed quickly and by the end of the night, Officer Im had securely but casually checked the house for any mics and cameras, finding nothing Youngjae sighed a breath of relief for he hadn't even thought to check himself. The two then discussed the protocol for the protection job, it was simple things like keeping a tracker in Youngjae's clothing and in his phone, and that Officer Im was a hound dog, wherever Youngjae goes he knows or tags along. After discussing the protocols the two finished filling in some papers which would be sent off the next day. The two spent the rest of the night securing the house together with cameras, even going to the extreme of planning possible escape plans. After the two spent an hour to get to know each other before heading off to bed. Youngjae found out that Jaebum was only a few years older than himself and that he knew multiple martial arts techniques such as Judo and Taekwondo. He mainly discussed his school life and family with the older male. Today had been a long day for the two and Youngjae was happy to fall asleep knowing that he had someone who could keep him safe, while Jaebum was content with the fact he had set up the security systems so quickly, it gave him a sense of comfort and he was positive it gave Youngjae one too.

The next morning, Youngjae and Jinyoung were to meet up, that meant Officer Im and Jinyoung's protecting officer would be there too, examining the area and keeping track of the events. Youngjae and Jaebum were walking side by side as they walked towards the star bucks coffee shop. For the first ten minutes, everything was so seemingly normal, Officer Im was starting to think that the stalker wouldn't show. That was until he spotted an extra reflection in the window of a passing shop, it showed that there was a man in an overly long dress coat with a top hat was several feet behind. Jaebum thought that he might have been too quick to judge, so he kept his pace with Youngjae and told him to circle the block. His thoughts were justified when he saw the same old fashion reflection follow every exact movement they did, Officer Im couldn't help but think about how amateur it all seemed. And yet, it was as if they were testing them like they wanted to be noticed almost as if to scare Youngjae, Jaebum thought it was definitely odd. Leaving his thoughts uncommented, he informed Youngjae of the man telling him to not look back and keep on walking. The plan was to see how far the stalker would go. Jaebum needed to know how severe this was. So he decided to test them.

"Youngjae, let's stop inside the clothing shop over there. I've been eyeing a suit there for ages." Jaebum tried to come off as natural and successfully guided Youngjae through the crowd into the building.

The stalker lurked outside on a bench, reading a newspaper. Jaebum tried to position himself in a position that would allow him to get a good look at the stranger but the man seemed to be wearing a mask–as if his ty outfit wasn't enough. Whoever this was, he really didn't want to be found out, that or it's somebody Youngjae knows, so he hides his identity away. Jaebum took note of the other's body portions and height before swiftly pulling Youngjae out of sight and towards the back of the shop.

"He's sat outside waiting, we have three options; stay in here until he leaves, head out and let him follow us, or sneak out back into the alleyway. He won't know that we've left until he actually checks."

"Well, what do you think is best?"

"I personally want to see how far he'll go. I say we sneak out the back and see where it takes us from there. I think you should tell Jinyoung you'll be late to the meeting place."

"Already did, it was hard not too when all I could feel was the same piercing gaze. I'm just waiting for his reply."

Jaebum went to the closest employee and showed them his badge, "I'm with the police department, I was wondering if you'll be able to unlock the back door for us."

"O-Of course sir, right this way."

Signalling to Youngjae to come over they both left the shop and entered the alleyway, thanking the employee as they bowed and closed the door with a click, not forgetting to tell them to keep about his occupation. Now all they had to do was wait, the two began to walk through the alleyway at a steady race. It must have been ten minutes in when they heard someone running from behind them, Jaebum immediately pulled Youngjae inside a mini corridor of the alley crouching down behind a red dumpster. He had a hand clamped lightly over Youngjae's mouth and he took it as a sign to keep quiet, it wasn't long before the running got closer and closer before it stopped. After a minute of silence, Jaebum was about to check if the coast was clear when a male's voice, that was higher than you would have expected, spoke stopping him mid-movement.

"J, I've lost him. They disappeared in the shop, I think they might have noticed me following them and avoided me. Yes, I understand. I'll find them immediately. Okay, I'm hanging up."

Only when the voice was replaced with footsteps running further and further into the distance did Jaebum check if the coast was clear when it was, he turned to Youngjae immediately, "did you recognise that voice at all?"

Youngjae shook his head, he honestly didn't know, he was never good at matching faces to names and the same went with voices to faces. If he did know the voice, it would only come to him if he heard it again in a different situation. The voice felt familiar to him, but only vaguely. So he couldn't be sure, he knew them personally. Maybe it was just the pressure of having to think on the spot, but no one came to mind no matter how deep he went.

"I'm sorry, I'm not too sure. If I come across them in the future maybe, but right now everything a blur and I can't even tell if that voice is familiar to me or not. If I do know them, it isn't anyone close. I would know immediately, there are only so many important people in my life and a half of them aren't in Korea at the moment."

Officer Im sighed stepping out into the alleyway, Youngjae following shortly after, "that's okay. We'll take small steps. When we get back to the house, we'll go through photos and videos to see if anything jogs your memory. But for now, let's meet up with Jinyoung before they come back."

Youngjae couldn't have said it any better himself and that was how he found himself walking back in the direction they came from to avoid the mysterious stalker. Youngjae could hear his heartbeat running fifty miles per minute in his chest, the thumping echoing and vibrating through his entire body, especially his ears. His adrenaline levels were high too, this was the most excitingly scary thing he had experienced in his whole life and it had brought him one step closer towards finding out the truth. Youngjae couldn't help but wonder what else Jaebum will bring to the dinner table and who they'll be dining with. Whoever it was Youngjae was determined to find out for both his curiosity and his sanity.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I’m in a curious case... I cant wait for JB too. Xd... I would love to follow Youngjae wherever he goes but we have to respect his privacy -3- so Imma stream his songs and cheer for him. Kind of annoying really why his Aunt thinks he’s only imagining things. :/ :(
