Foreword

"BTS! BTS!" a chant filled the concert hall like a roaring ocean as seven boys performed their piece for the music show furiously on stage. "BTS! BTS!" the fans continuously chanted.

As the music came to a stop, the seven panting boys greeted their fans. "Bangtan! Hello, we're BTS." They smiled widely and shined on the stage. Each of them had worked hard to be where they were and people all over the world knew it. When they were finished, they headed back to their dressing room where they could relax.

"Can I have my phone," Taehyung asked the manager who complied. "Did I get any calls while we were out there?" The manager shook his head and Taehyung heaved a sigh. He opened his messages. "Did you watch the show?" He wrote in the text.

Within a matter of seconds, he received a reply from the person named under "Loser." "Yes. You guys did great."

"Did you really watch?"

This time, no reply came. Taehyung pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes.

"Look alive," he heard Namjoon call out to him. "Hoseok's coming in with a camera."

Upon seeing the camera, a smile plastered onto his face and he returned to the childish V that the fans knew him as. He played along with Jungkook and Hoseok as they were recorded for the fans. They danced and teased one another.

Escaping from the camera's view, Taehyung sighed deeply before abruptly leaving the room.

"Where are you going?" He heard the others calling behind him, but he chose to ignore them. "Yah!" The members yelled.

Taehyung walked around, looking for a quiet area to hide. He settled for a corner by the stairs. He scratched his head lightly, careful no to mess his hair up, then reached into his pocket for his cell phone. Taehyung scrolled through his contact list until he found "Loser" and then pressed the call emoticon.

He chuckled to himself as he heard his part of I Need U, the title track of their newest mini album, play as the ringtone. "Loser," he grinned and sung along until the song stopped. "Hello?"

"The person you are trying to call is unavailable, please call again later." The automated voice told him. He furrowed his eyebrows and tried to call again. Again, the voice told him the same thing.

Call me when you can. Taehyung sent a text to the number. He then made his way back to the dressing room.

A big smile was plastered on his face as he ran back into the room, filling it with laughter.

"You can cut the act," Namjoon said to him without removing his eyes from his phone. "Camera's gone."

Taehyung nodded his head and took a seat on one of the vacant chairs. He pulled his cell phone out again and opened his messages. He proceeded to open the thread with "Loser."

He felt his heart race as he saw that she had read the message. There were now the three dots on her side of the messages, which indicated that she was replying. Suddenly the dots disappeared, but no message came through. They never came through.

"She's probably busy," Jimin said. He had been watching Taehyung stare at his screen. "She has a life too, the world doesn't revolve around us."

"Whatever," Taehyung mumbled as he slouched in his seat.

After the long event, the boys came back to the dorm and washed off their makeup. Taehyung lied in bed waiting for the others to fall asleep; he took a nap himself. When he woke up, he took a look at his cell phone. It illuminated the room and he quickly hid under his blanket, afraid that he'd get caught. It was 3 a.m. already. Careful to not get caught, Taehyung tiptoed around the room and grabbed a sweater from the closet. He shut the door behind him as quietly as possible. The lights were all off, except for the light in his manager's room. Again, he tiptoed across the room and slid on his shoes.

"Where are you going? It's late," the manager opened his bedroom door and peeked out at Taehyung who was sneaking out.

Taehyung scratched his head, "I just wanted to get some air."

"Don't be too long and don't let people see you." Taehyung nodded his head. "Bring back some snacks with you."

"Okay, I will hyung," he replied before hurrying out. He walked a few blocks down the street, she didn't live too far from the dorm and he was thankful for it. When he reached his destination, he whipped out his cell phone and dialed Loser's number. It rang for a few seconds and then he heard the raspy voice. "I'm outside. You know people can't see me," he told her.

"Go home," she said to him.

"I'll be waiting, Sumi." Taehyung ended the call before she could reply. He waited for a few minutes before hearing feet scrambling down the stairs. The gate swung open and he entered. He observed the girl in her pajamas; a tshirt and dolphin shorts. "Yah! Is this clothes for the outside?" He shut the gate immediately then proceeded to block his eyes.

She tugged her shorts down lower. "Taehyung-shi," he lowered his hands and frowned at her. "It's currently three in the morning. What are you doing here?"

"Don't call me like that," he didn't answer her question. "Let's go up, you must be cold." Taehyung grabbed her cold hand and led her up to her own apartment. They were greeted by a warm breeze as he pushed the door open. He took a seat on the couch as she fetched something for him to drink.

"Sorry Mr. Hallayustar, we only serve water here," Sumi handed him the water and sat next to him on the couch.

"What's up with you lately? Why are you avoiding me and talking to me like that?" Taehyung asked, completely irritated.

"I don't know what you're talking about," she replied without looking at him. She played with the condensation on the cup that came from the water.

Taehyung grabbed her shoulder and forced her to look at him. "Why did you lie about watching the show?"

"I did watch it." Sumi smiled sweetly at him. "You guys were awesome, the fans loved you guys."

"You're such a liar." He scoffed and turned to look at the other direction.

"I'm tired of seeing Bangtan everywhere. I'm very tired of seeing V everywhere I go," Sumi crossed her arms. "I'm sure you don't have time and shouldn't even be out right now. You most likely have a busy schedule in the morning and you should go back to the dorm and rest."

He scoffed at her reply, "Did I do something wrong?"

"No."

"Then why are you acting like this? Why are you shutting me out," anger slowly filled his body. He shook her lightly. "If I did something wrong, tell me Sumi."

Sumi brushed his hand off of her shoulder and stood up. She took a deep breath and put her hands on her hips. "Kim Taehyung, I am Yoo Sumi. I am your exgirlfriend, you left me so you can live this fabulous life you were offered. Instead of hating you like I should, I have stood by your side listening to your every complaint and cry. You don't call to check on how my life is doing. You don't show up just to see a friend. You call because something isnt going your way. You show up because you want to be comforted." She bit her lip. Her arms hanging by her sides now, she whispered, "I'm tired of being an after thought."

Taehyung held her dangling hand and looked up at her. She had her eyes shut. "Sumi, look at me." She didn't do as he said. "Sumi, I didn't know you felt that way. You're definitely not an after thought, you are such an important person to me. If we could be together, I wouldn't hesitate to take the chance. We can't be together, not because I don't want to be with you, but for your safety. Fans will find your name, your address, your phone number, who your family is. All things private will no longer be private and I wouldn't dare to do that to you." He could see the tears threatening to fall, even through her closed eyes. Taehyung stood up and wrapped his arms around the girl.

"I think you should leave," Sumi pushed him away. With her eyes glued to the floor, she added, "Don't contact me anymore." He stared at her, his mouth slightly opened as he tried to find the words to say. She took several steps back before finally looking up at him; it was Taehyung's turn to drop his eyes to the floor as they made eye contact. "I don't want to ever see you again." Even a stranger could hear the tears in her tone.

Taehyung shook his head, he didn't want to believe any of the words coming out of . Slowly he walked over to the door in silence. The tears finally rolled down Sumi's face as she watched him leave without saying anything. "Text me so I know you got back safely," she wanted to yell out as the front door shut, but the words didn't make it out.
