FAQs
If your question is not answered below, please PM me, leave it in the comments, or contact me via ask.fm!
Q. Do I get disqualified if I don't make the deadline?
A. This is more of a challenge than a contest and the aim is to challenge yourself, so no, you don't get disqualified for not making the deadline. It does mean you knock yourself out of the running for some of the rewards, like the Early Bird karma points, but winning a review or getting put on a recs list is still possible, though it's preferable if you do finish at some point, deadline or not.
Q. If deadlines don't work out/my fic is going to be longer or shorter than intended, can I change challenges?
A. Absolutely, as long as the fic fits the requirements of the challenge that you want to change it to. (E.g. a chaptered fic for Tumbled could be switched to Carved if you realised you wouldn't finish it before the end of November. If it starred Suho, you could also switch it to Star, or if it starred Chanyeol, to Marquise. However, if it starred Suho, you wouldn't be able to switch to Marquise because of the requirements (Xiumin, Chanyeol or D.O. fic), or if it starred Kai, you'd only be able to switch to Carved.)
Q. Can I enter a fic I'm already writing?
A. Sure, as long as it fits a challenge and one of the prompts.
Q. Can I enter more than one challenge?
A. Absolutely! Take on as many as you want! Some brave people did two or even all three categories in my Tender Rose contest. Just make sure you don't put yourself under too much pressure because school work and jobs are still more important, however relaxing writing a fic is. But remember: 500 words a day and you can write 90,000 words in 6 months. That's a pretty long fic.
Q. Is it necessary to pick a prompt?
A. Yes, unless the challenge states otherwise. None of the current challenges do. How you fulfil that prompt is totally up to you – you can centre the entire story around it, or just a chapter, or just a scene, or even just one sentence of dialogue. I don't mind so long as it's there and clear.
Q. Do I have to pick a prompt and a challenge?
A. At the moment, yes. I may add new challenges in the future that don't require prompts.
