The two boys went out to lunch for the next week, handing off the bill every other time. But they didn’t necessarily ride with each other every day, the constant close proximity became a bit much to handle. Some days they’d call off lunch or just not go at all, there’s only so many places to eat and only so much time you can spend with one another.

“Hey Tae? Can we talk?” Jungkook bit at his nails as he heard his friend give an annoyed sigh over the phone

“About?”

Jungkook noticed Taehyung’s rather irritated tone “Are you alright lately? You’ve been really distant. I wanted to check up on you before I left for work, I just want to make sure if everything is ok?”

“I just think we need some time away from each other, don’t you agree that we’ve been going too fast?” Taehyung cleared his throat

“You make it sound like we’re a couple,” Jungkook laughed, shaking his head “but I understand…” Jungkook went silent, listening as Taehyung went on about why he needs time alone

“And I don’t need you pampering me every day, I have more than enough money to take care of myself! You let your money turn into arrogance and you make everyone feel like peasants compared to you!” Taehyung cleared his throat nervously as he heard Jungkook sigh heavily, breath shaking as he did so “Jungkook?” Taehyung asked

“You’re just like the others, I’m sorry to say that I tried to befriend you… I try to take you out to lunch to get to know you better and to actually have a real friend that enjoys me
