Maerin is the most dutiful, loving, and possibly, the best sister in the world (even if she does say so herself). So when her older sister, Yerin, announces that she is marrying her long term darling, Maerin doesn't hesitate to accept the offer of being the maid of honor. It is a wedding after all, what could possibly go wrong?!

Of course all those thoughts are convinently thrown out of the highest window of a fifty story building, once Maerin's eyes fall on Chanyeol's best man. Surely killing the groom's best friend and best man (one week before the wedding ceremony at that), couldn't possibly make Maerin any less of a great sister, right? Right?!

Maerin is busy greeting a couple, who claim to be her father's second cousins once removed (she really had no idea that their family tree was so vast), when Yerin walks up to her.

"Tired?" Yerin asks once she has finished bowing and thanking the couple for joining them.

"I didn't know dad had so many cousins." Maerin replies, hand reaching up to wipe the trickle of sweat that has formed on her brow.

"Neither did I." Yerin chuckles. "But you know how mum and dad are. They would never agree to leave anyone out."

"Mmmm," Maerin mumbles while she bows to a couple of people she could swear she has never even seen before.

"So..."

Instantly all thoughts of welcoming the guests vanish as Maerin whips her head to stare at her sister. Yerin is using that tone. The one she uses when she feels guilty about something. The same one she used when she had 'accidentally' forgotten to feed their cat. Given the older girl had been busy with work, but that was still a far cry from being a good enough excuse in Maerin's opinion. 

"What?" Maerin asks suspiciously, eyes narrowed. Pepper is safely locked up at Hana's house, so at least she can rest assured that Yerin hasn't tried to murder their pet again.

"Remember how I was talking about Chanyeol's best friend? You know, the one who's flying over from America to be his best man?" Yerin mumbles as she plays with her hands. Her eyes are downcast, refusing to meet Maerin's.

"Yeah?" Maerin wonders what on earth this conversation is leading to.

"Well you see..."

But before Yerin can finish her sentence, her fiance has come barreling past them, his long arms waving crazily as he screams at the top of his lungs. "TAEMINNNNNNN YOU MADE IT!"

Yerin winces slightly as her fiance throws himself over the other guy. Chanyeol is huge, and he does not weight little. He has probably managed to break every last bone in the shorter boy's body. However all thoughts about the man's well being are thrown away as her eyes land on her sister's face.

Maerin stands completely still. She's in shock. Yerin's guilt, the name of Chanyeol's best man, him having flown in from America. Surely this doesn't mean what Maerin is dreading. Surely the universe isn't this cruel. She forces her body to turn around, and that is when his eyes meet hers. The same eyes that have been haunting her dreams for years.

Chanyeol is standing at the hotel entrance, his arm wrapped around the shoulders of a boy who is slightly younger than him. However the boy isn't paying Chanyeol any attention. No, his eyes are trained on her instead. He is staring at her intently, a wide smirk on his face. And when he finally speaks, Maerin can literally feel her blood boiling.

"Did you miss me sweet-heart?"

Really Maerin has never been fond of high heels. They're of no use in her opinion. However she vows to change her mind about them, as she holds one four-inch heel in each hand, running after a cowering Lee Taemin. She promptly decides to ignore Chanyeol's confused expression, and Yerin's shout of "Don't kill him yet Maerin! The best man suit is being tailored specifically for him!"
