Gratitude
DetachmentThe boys unanimously turned their attention to Donghae with questioning look though not one bothered to verbally ask how he got to know her.
Leeteuk bent down and attempted to brush slightly Sora's right shoulder but she recoiled.
"Hey... Are you ok? Listen.. we won't hurt you... " Leeteuk softly uttered almost in whisper. His voice was reassuring, concerned.
She moved aside to keep a fair distance away from him.
"Look, you're safe now. My friends and I are here to help you. Will you... trust me?" Leeteuk offered his hand and waited for her to take it. He can sense her cynicism and does not want scare her more.
His sweet voice is very soothing to the ears. It's tone sincere... it made her shudder more. He was looking straight into her eyes and for some strange reason, she felt secured.
She looked at his open palms and anxiously placed her rather pale hands on his. He gently grabbed it and helped her stand. Sora winced the moment she placed her right foot on the ground. The next second she felt her legs being anchored by a firm arm. He literally swept her off her feet. His warmth scattered through her body as he drew her closer to his chest. She can feel his unsteady breathing as he rush her away from the dark alley. Donghae positioned himself a step back on the left side enough for Leeteuk to walk comfortably whilst carrying Sora then carefully hover them with umbrella.
*****
They took Sora to the nearest hospital. Before leaving, the rest of the boys made sure they'd be fine. Leeteuk and Donghae decided to stay and assured the members they got things covered.
11 o'clock in the evening... Leeteuk watched as Donghae tries hard to blink repeatedly his eyes to awake himself. In between he could not help but doze off. His head would tilt unintentionally then he would fix his sitting posture but slid off again to a light sleep. Leeteuk decided to send him home.
He waited an hour more at the hospital lounge. In all honesty, he too wants to rest and go home. He could feel his head throbbing but it would not be nice to leave a helpless girl alone in the hospital. He closed his eyes and traced his temples with his index fingers to ease the growing tension of exhaustion.
He nearly jumped off the couch when a nurse suddenly popped up to inform him that Sora can now be discharged from the hospital. Noticing he was startled by her, she apologized, directed him where he's supposed to settle the paperwor
