Request: When Doyoung's girlfriend, who rarely shows affection, tries to reassure an insecure Doyoung.

Author's Note: This is a scenario that someone has requested from tumblr, and since I am joining both sites together, I will be putting both scenarios from tumblr and aff on both sites.

Normally, Doyoung would let it slide. He knew that he wasn’t the most popular member amongst NCT, but he would always try his best to show off whenever they attended an interview/show. NCT was lucky enough to be a part of ‘Weekly Idol’ where idols would be able to show off their talents and variety sense. This was the first time they had been invited, so they all made a promise to do their best.

During filming, Doyoung thought he was doing the best he could, making small jokes here and there, and laughing whenever he could. Even for his profile, he made sure to show off as many things as he could, even if it was the weirdest thing ever. The reactions of the MCs as well as the staff, made it look promising that he was going to have a lot of screentime. And honestly, that was the only thing that he ever wanted. Sure, being an MC before on music shows earned a lot of new fans for him, but it wasn’t the same as actually promoting with his group.

He wanted people to like him as someone who was funny, an amazing singer and all in all, a great guy. At least now, he had fans who loved him for who he was, and not just ‘the guy with the orange hair in NCT’ or ‘MC Doyoung’.

So when Doyoung had asked you to come over to watch the episode of NCT in Weekly Idol for the first time with the others, you were thrilled. You remember Doyoung talking about how happy and excited he was after the filming, knowing that he did as much as he could. Even more than Ten! And that was rare.

“Y/N!” He greets you with a hug once he opens the door. You blush and nod at him. “Hey Doyoung.” He leads you to the lounge where everyone was already settled. Snacks and drinks were everywhere. You laugh to yourself, thinking at how cute everyone was with setting up the lounge like they were going to watch a movie marathon.

“Hey Y/N!” The others smile at you once they see you appear from the hallway. You give them a small wave. “Hello.” Doyoung points to the couch. “I’ll be back.” While everyone was sitting on the ground, you make your way to the couch, making sure to save a seat for Doyoung.

Everyone seemed to be really enthusiastic about this show since they were all bickering about what might be shown.

“They’re definitely going to show my girl group dances!” Ten grins before breaking out into a small dance on the ground. “It’ll be so funny.”

“God, I hope they don’t.” Johnny responds, throwing a piece of popcorn at him. “If they do, someone change the channel!” Ten pouts while everyone else laughs. You giggle to yourself.

“Actually I’m hoping that Taeyong’s y dance appears!”

“....especially his aegyo.”

“Shut up,” Taeyong hisses, kicking Johnny’s legs. “I hope they don’t. It was so embarrassing.”

“Aw hyung but you were so cute. I’m glad they made you do it so many times.”
