Love At First Sight: Chapter 2
Love At First SightRyeowook’s eyes widens when they flutter open.
Because, oh dear god, his head is leaning against his seatmate’s broad shoulders. He must had fallen asleep and accidentally leaned against Donghae’s chest while he was sleeping. Oh dear, it’s embarrassing! Quickly sitting up, Ryeowook straightens his clothes and runs his hand through his hair, hoping that it isn’t as messy as he imagined it to be. Ryeowook glances in the direction of his seatmates and his cheeks starts to grow warm. Donghae… Is looking at him. With a grin that looks too cheeky to be mistaken for just an innocent smile.
“Good morning,” Donghae teases with a lopsided grin, “Good nap you were having there.”
Ryeowook blushes real hard as he whispers a soft, “Sorry…”
Donghae chuckles, “It’s no problem. Your hair smells nice.”
Absentmindedly, Ryeowook runs his fingers through his hair, feeling embarrassed. Donghae had been awake all this time and … Wow… Just… Ryeowook inwardly groans for being pathetic. He meets a handsome man in the airport, gets a chance to sit next to him on the plane and then fall asleep on him. Ryeowook thinks that only he will ever experience something as humiliating as this.
“We’re landing in a few minutes,” Donghae informs Ryeowook, “I… I packed your book back into your carry on. I hope you didn’t mind. I didn’t want to wake you up.”
“I…. Oh… Thank you.”
Donghae smiles in return and for a moment, Ryeowook finds himself lost in those mesmerizing eyes. Not until a flight attendant interrupts them and reminds them to put on their seatbelt since they are going to land anytime soon. Ryeowook pulls his eyes away and nods at the flight attendant before fastening his seatbelt on. Donghae does the same, sighing and then closing his eyes as he rests his head against the seat.
Ryeowook wonders if this is goodbye and just thinking about never getting the chance to meet Donghae once again upsets him. He feels attached to this man even though it sounds silly. Ryeowook realizes that all this time, he doesn’t know anything about Donghae other than that he’s Korean! Donghae knows little bits and pieces of Ryeowook’s life but Ryeowook doesn’t know anything at all about Donghae’s. Ryeowook casts a secret glance to his side, admiring the man’s beauty once again. Should he ask Donghae about his life? But… What’s the point anyway? They’re landing…. And soon after, they will be on their own way and no way in hell would they ever cross paths again.
Once the plane safely lands, the passengers began unbuckling their seatbelts and filing out with their carry on slung against their shoulders. Ryeowook stretches and gathers his belongings, wanting to stand and get out of the plane. But… He doesn’t know why his body is refusing to move. He glances at his handsome seatmate and wonders why he looks like he’s in a deep thought too. Ryeowook clears this throat awkwardly, wondering if he should say anything.
“I… Uh… I guess… This is… Goodbye.” Ryeowook shyly says, trying to sound friendly.
“Yeah…” Donghae finally looks at him and half-smiles, “Goodbye… Ryeowook.”
Somehow for some odd reason, Ryeowook feels a weird dropping sensation in his chest. Ryeowook puts
