Bom

I sat chewing my lip anxiously as i scanned through my father's will only looking at the parts of the list that conern me:

Grandfather clock for my Go eun  inheritance- half to charity  other half for college funds​ Money from house to go in trust

​I laugh bitterly at the college fund part- does he even know how old his children are? way past the college stage.

I close the paper, deciding that I have read enough and midfold i see something scribbled at the bottom of the list

For my darling bom, i give her custody of Ga-eul

​Gaeul? i'm guessing thats one of his stupid cats that he seemed to love so much (probably more than his children) when he was around.

I've always been more of a dog person.

Why is he giving his cat to me?

Did he even know who i am?

due to my career I dont have enough time for the one pet i already have, let alone two.

of course he didn't.
But could I possibly take in a whole responsibility such as a pet just because it's written on paper? 
But then again it's not like I can tell him no.
Yes he was a awful dad but you at least owe him this Bom. 
"Miss Park?"

a voice suddenly interrupts my train of thought and jumping slightly i snap my head up to face the person- my father's will attorney.

"About the gi-"

Sighing I rub my temples,
"I know this is about  Ga Eul...."

"And...I'll do it, I'll take her in" I sigh smiling slightly even though it doesn't reach my eyes.

Why did I say that.

It takes me 2 hours just to decide what pastry i want at paris baguette, what makes him think i can decide something like this in seconds?

The attorney beams, before getting out three large stacks of paper slamming them on the table

"That's great news, I'll just get out the paperwork for you to sign, assuming you've already read the terms and that I sent you a couple months ago?"

I definitely didn't.

"Yes definitely!" I lie straight through my teeth. "I actually I read it twice I have lots of room in my house for her and I've had lots of experience with pets before so it will be great!" 

I must have said the wrong this because he suddenly frowns deeply looking at me confusedly before quickly changing the subject disregarding whatever I had just said;

"So lets get to paper signing why don't we?"

An hour later, I nurse my aching wrist with my other hand, on the verge of tears.

"Okay I think that's about it" states the attorney after a while.

All of this work for a cat.

"I'll send these papers over to the US and then If all goes smooth Ga Eul will be escorted over from Manhattan to Seoul in two or three months time"

"Do you need me for anything else?" I ask desperate to leave.

"No, that's everything you are free to go now Miss Park"

My face lights up at this,

"annyeong!" 
I suddenly jump up rushing towards the door, this has been the longest three hours of my life

"And Bom?" He says making me pause in mid air- my finger tips hovering above the door handle, I groan again intern
