Set in the year 1450, where Wonwoo was born as an illegitimate child of King Sejong the Greatest. Lived in a cottage far from the city, he had never known he was a prince, though he had no right, but as the King’s son, he did. Living with his mother, Wonwoo was a very naughty and stubborn boy, as he was never been taught by his father. He never met his father, not even once. After the death of King Sejong, he was brought to Hanseong (now Seoul) to meet his half siblings.

Yeomsal thought her life has been a joke the very first she was born. She didn’t know who her parents were and there was no trace of her parents too. She was also an illegitimate child, being unloved and abandoned by the street. A former court lady has brought Yeomsal to live with her, but died when Yeomsal turned 15. Now that Yeomsal lived alone, she worked at an etiquette school far in the village, as a cook.

It was all thanks to the etiquette school that these two young souls met. They were so different in each way, but somehow fit for each other. Fate, they say. These young fell in love before they knew it themselves. As much as their love for each other, there was no way that they could be together.
