Oblivious.

Description

Synopsis: Seokmin is tired of having to confess his feelings to Soonyoung. Was his hyung really this oblivious? Just a short one-shot where Soonyoung is completely dumb and Seokmin is dumber for loving this idiot. ((haha Dumb & Dumber))

Foreword

Lee Seokmin and Kwon Soonyoung. Two names which can not be completed unless said together. Ever since that day in primary school where Soonyoung grabbed Seokmin’s hand and made the surprised boy play ninjas with him, they've always been close. From getting a baby tooth knocked out after falling off a slide together, infinite sleepovers and basically living in each other house, or building a really crappy and super dangerous treehouse, to going on to the same high school and looking into getting an apartment afterwards when they go to college. The two planned to be side by side through thick and thin and Seokmin, most importantly, promised himself to never let go of that hand that grabbed him that day.

“So how long have you been dating?”

“Eh?”

Soonyoung looked up from his phone (he was playing this new mmorpg app) long enough to give his dongsaeng a look of mild confusion. Mingyu’s eyes just darted to Seokmin who was showing an equal amount of curiosity. However, with the way they were sitting all cuddle up under a tree one would think the two had something going on. Mingyu was dumbfounded by their cluelessness.

“I mean…” Mingyu eyes flashed to the way their hands were entwined. “I was just wondering because you guys hang out all the time….”

“Hah! We aren't dating!” Soonyoung chortled settling back into the younger’s chest. “Minie, here is just my bestest friend,” the blonde explained patting the younger’s cheek.

“Ah-hah ….and this...is normal?” Mingyu questioned gesturing to the way their legs were tangled. Soonyoung looked over their positions before looking back at Mingyu and nodding. Mingyu gave an exhausted sigh tried to get up to leave.

“Let's go, Wonwoo, they're gayer than us,” Mingyu announced gently shaking the older who was currently using his legs as a pillow. “Classes will soon be starting anyway.”

“Ugh…” Wonwoo groaned groggily before he got up and glared at the one who decided to ruin his sleep. Mingyu found his pouting quite cute and gave him a peck on his lips to fully wake him up. Wonwoo smiled getting over his fury and the two walked off hand and hand totally forgetting about Soonyoung and Seokmin.

“Would you look at those two!” Soonyoung commented. “They're so lovey dovey, it's amazing!” Soonyoung laughed. Seokmin gave a side glance before humming.

“You're more amazing, hyung,” Seokmin added thoughtfully.

“Hmm? What do you mean?”

“Nothing. Dun’ worry about it, let's get to class before you get another tardy,” Seokmin suggested and the blonde agreed. He got up and dusted off his pants about to run away when he froze remembering something.

“Oh! Almost forgot,” he bent back down to give a kiss to Seokmin’s cheek. “Thanks for the lunch, good as always!” and with that he left Seokmin in a state of shock, holding his cheek.

“Amazing.” Seokmin mused aloud still caressing, his face turned crimson.

It had been a while since he knew Kwon Soonyoung. The boy was very loud and energetic often making mistakes and causing misunderstandings. Whether he would call their friends early in the mornings with another one of his hare brained schemes or just pulling offhanded pranks on the general public Soonyoung knew how to stir up reactions.  However, the biggest mess he causes lately is with Seokmin’s heart.

Sometime in middle school, Seokmin found himself falling in love with the boy with small severely slanted eyes and buck teeth. He likes the way his dance moves accentuated his lopsided but oddly good looks. How his laugh always manages to brightened Seokmin's day. Or just the way he could make you feel so important with his piercing gaze. However, the brunette knew it wouldn't work out between them. Amongst the fact that he didn't even know whether Soonyoung liked guys or not, he knew Soonyoung was completely oblivious to his dongsaeng’s feelings.

Even after all those times he's told Soonyoung he liked him, the older would just pass it off as just friend’s love or an off-handed joke. Now after five attempts of confessing, Seokmin has given up trying to tell him his feelings. He rather go with the flow and be by his hyungs side than to ruin it over a crush.

“Hey, Seok, where's your boyfriend?” Minghao questioned quietly. Seokmin just shrugged. He didn't really react much when people called them boyfriends he was used to it and to be honest they acted like a couple. Always sitting together, endless sleepovers at each other's house, and the little pecks Soonyoung gives him from time to time. It was just like how a couple in a relationship would act.

“Probably in the dance room?”

“Ah, no, I just came from there.” Minghao expelled that theory.

After Minghao told him he needed to ask his hyung some questions about the new choreography, Seokmin decided he would look for his best friend. He hoped he didn't get himself in any trouble. Seokmin then hastily checked all his favorite places. Lunch room: not there. Gym/dance room: not there. Under their tree: not there. Seokmin was growing concerned. Soonyoung told him everything. Why wouldn't he tell him where he went? That's when a chance encounter happened and Seokmin passed by a classroom. At first he thought nothing of it. The class wasn't his hyung’s class and Soonyoung wouldn't be caught dead in one he didn't need to be in. He never visited Seokmin’s class. It was always the other way around. So, why did Seokmin get the feeling that he should try to see? You know...just in case.

When the brunette slid the door open just enough to peek in his heart almost fell out of his chest and shattered right there in front of him. There was Soonyoung, his Soonyoung hanging out and laughing with Jihoon. Something that was normal because they have been child friends along with Mingyu and because Jihoon is his cousin there normally wouldn't be anything to be alarmed about.

However, this wasn't normal. They were in a deserted classroom well after school, laughing and giggling in their own world. A world Seokmin had created only for the two of them to get cozy, but here they had an intruder. Despite this, Seokmin realized the worst part wasn't the fact that it took Jihoon to point out Seokmin for Soonyoung to notice his presence, or that Soonyoung apologized for his negligence and told him to ‘just go on without him’ as if it didn't matter whether he was there or not. No, it was none of those.

It was the fact that they were fondling each other that shocked him.
