You fumbled through the box and found the pair of baby blue coloured headphones mingyu got for you when you guys were still dating. You took the headphones and attached to the iPod that was beside it.

“I love you”

“Hope you’re having a nice day”

“My wish is for you to smile every day”

“I want to be by your side forever!”

“We’ll love each other forever right?”

“I think I’ll love you more though”

“I miss you”

“Can’t wait to see you tomorrow”

The list goes on. Mingyu would record something simple for you in the iPod and he’d make you listen to it after he recorded each time.

You listened to every recording as you looked through the pictures you took with him. The smiles on both of your faces were genuine, and it was happiness.

“I’m sorry”

That was the last recording that was recorded, and the last one you listened to before removing the headphones. Mingyu and you have parted ways and now all that’s left are memories. Sometimes things happen at wrong times, and things are constantly changing. There’s no forever love, and promises may not always last. You looked at the headphones again and a tear dropped. You placed it in the box and kept it away with a heavy heart.

“Maybe one day I’ll find someone who can make me feel this way again.”
