Scene III

The anxiety that built up in Jungkook’s chest was unbearing. His mind filled with “what if’s” as he couldn’t imagine any way of Taehyung being able to get there. Each footstep his took felt heavy, and his stomach was tied in knots of worry. When he had finally opened the door, his heart clenched at the sight of Taehyung sitting on the cushioned chair that sat at the corner of the room next to the wooden piano. With his legs crossed and hands atop his knees, he had the same blank look in his eyes as he stared straight ahead at the wall in front of him. Jungkook’s cheeks felt as if they could burst any moment with how big of a smile he had on. He quickly approached Taehyung before suddenly halting in front of him. It only took a couple of moments before Taehyung’s expression mirrored Jungkook’s.

    “Hi.” Taehyung’s low voice broke the silence, the overused greeting lingering in the air. Jungkook greeted back, panicking as he realized he didn’t know how to begin. He stood there as the awkward silence enveloped both of them.

    “I guess we can start learning?” Jungkook offered, immediately regretting even speaking to begin with. Taehyung grinned, crinkles forming by his faded eye. Jungkook slowly made his way to the piano bench as Taehyung still sat on the chair, stilled. Jungkook didn’t realize he was leaving behind Taehyung before he had sat down on the bench and was readying some music sheets. Jungkook looked back in confusion before, once again, realization hit him. Before actually taking note of what he was going to do, Jungkook gently grabbed Taehyung by the wrist and pulled him over to the bench before quickly pulling his hand away.
