He holds my hands tightly into his warm grip. I smiled and secretly peeked at him. We have no much of difference in height. He swung our holding hands together into the air back to forth and let the cold wind greeted our back of palm. He acted so much weird today. Extra affection, extra skinship, extra jokes to make me smile. I can’t stop smiling but I couldn’t help that something mixed feelings somehow bothered me so much. I love when he keeps doing it, like showing his love towards me and kiss me several times. But this is not feeling right.

He stopped at the middle of our walking. I followed as well as he was. He brought me to face me with his hands on my shoulder hanging it gently.

“Baby…”

“Hmm?”

“I… think,”

“Yes? What’s wrong? Don’t make me scared.”

“I can’t be with you anymore…”

My world suddenly becomes silent and hopeless. My tears begin to form perfectly with the timing as he finished his last words. I became speechless and heartbroken. But we were promised to be together forever. Or is it just one of sweet words?

“I’m sorry.”

He put his head down looking at the ground. He can’t see my beautiful flowing tears. Is he really sorry?

“Why? Don’t you love me?”

He shook his head calmly. He couldn’t look at me in eyes. I tried my best to read what’s going on inside his head to him making a drastic decision of end our relationship.

“But we had been together for two years. Why now?”

“I’m sorry.”

And then, he left and never looks back. 

Since that moment, I promise to not let him ever come back again even though my heart still wants him.

I promise.
